For a team that dreams of becoming the best in the world, and who have possibly the least sporty players and some of the most unruly fans, seeing them choke gives an immense amount of pleasure. I possibly wouldn't be as distraught at losing to Pakistan as much as I would be at even the thought of losing to the mighty Bangladesh

Sorry for having ambitions.

Incredible from DK. Can't be kept out of the 11 anymore - all formats, I would argue.

Dk now surely deserve to be in our one day starting line up for the WC. Top mentality.

Gutted for Scotland.

They got a horrendous LBW decision against West Indies just 10 mins before a rain break which enabled WIndies to get a WC spot. They were just 5 short of the Duckworth Lewis score. feck off ICC.

The decision to reduce teams is appalling

Thought Stokes being back might inspire the England batting lineup.

That being said I haven’t been able to watch the game. Is the wicket a poor one or is it just bad batting/quality bowling?

No discussion of the Aussie ball tampering?

Smith standing down as captain.

Thoughts

I think I’d go for it, give the away captain the choice of batting or bowling

Personally the problem is the calendar, it’s too packed to give teams adequate tour games to be acclimatised to the conditions.
I like that idea - on paper it should reduce the advantage home teams get from the pitch but home bowlers/batsmen should still be more used to the conditions so it'll be interesting if the rule changes & actually makes any difference. At the moment, too many teams struggle away from their own conditions & it's a reason (imo) why Test cricket is becoming less interesting.

Gutted :(:( Even as a West Indies fan he is my favorite player in world cricket. Was hoping he would have at least stayed on for the World Cup next year and try to get the international trophy that has eluded him. Alas it wasn’t meant to be. Goodnight, King.

Fantastic player across all forms, really nice guy too. Love how he plays the game & makes it look so easy. One of my favourite players. Big loss for international cricket.

He just seems mentally drained the past few years.

Looks like he's not going to be playing other franchise cricket either - just the IPL.

Always sad to see a GOAT retire, still think he has a few years left but fair enough he wants to make as much money as possible playing franchise cricket before fully calling it a day.

Wtf AB man

I love you, but you’ve left me disappointed. Even though he’s had an incredible career, I still don’t think his numbers/achievements reflect his talent, not even close tbh

AB will go down as one of the legends, he changed the way the game is played.
I don't know. Gilly was maybe more influential in terms of the way it's played, but De Villiers came closest to perfecting that style for now.
