All of it reeks of hatred... I just don't understand how you can even enjoy football, unless you're a Barcelona fan. Then I'd understand your posts.

You're not alone though and it's better for it to be this way than the opposite anyway.
If I hated him I'd have been doing the same pathetic bullshit you lot were last night when it was Messi at 3-0 down. Instead I absolved him of any blame and said it wouldn't have been his fault.

I hate Real Madrid though. You're right there. A bunch of cheating, corrupt cnuts.

Messi has missed far more then Ronaldo. Please don't start. Messi is known for not being that great of a penalty taker. Im not even trying to argue either.
He has, but they've both got fairly meddling records from the spot considering how good they are. You'd expect them to be hitting at least 90% conversion rates for their quality in front of goal, I'd argue.

I mean, the chances of scoring are still above 50% right? It's hardly a feat only a select few can achieve. He's a good penalty taker but to suggest this somehow elevates him above all else is laughable.
Not at all a penalty in those circumstances is ridiculous and not anyone would have made it.

Why is this suddenly proof of Ronaldo's greatness? He did nothing all game and scored a penalty he didn't even earn. I'd have thought it would only further his penaldo reputation.
One game isn't proof for anyone's greatness so this isn't either. If this was Ronaldo doing nothing all game, then maybe I need to watch the game again.

If he hadn't acted a bit cnutish with a few dives (even though there was contact) these reactions about his performance wouldn't exist.

Big players so big things in big games. Cometh the hour cometh the man and Ronaldo is the man.

Goat for me. Sure Messi is better technically, but ronaldo has simply done more in the game for me.

To be fair you were being humble about it because of what happened to Messi yesterday.

As for the cheating part Barcelona are just as much if not worse. They are called Uefalona for a reason.

Messi was Barca's best player vs Roma but they lost -> Messi bottled
Ronaldo was Real's worst player vs Juve but they won -> Ronaldo goat

that's how people actually argue here, yikes

I'm just pointing out how much bollocks is being spouted. If Cal wants to post Messi missing a penalty as an example of how much of a bottler he is in comparison to Ronaldo scoring one he sure as feck better expect Ronaldo's CL final miss to get posted too.
Saved, not missed, how difficult is that for you to understand?

Those circumstances? From the reactions on here it's as if he scored the winning penalty in the world cup final

If he'd missed Real would still have 30 minutes of extra time against a tired, 10 man Juve, at the Bernabeu. In the quarter finals of the CL.

It just cements his legacy even further. Ronaldo isn’t a choker and steps up in the biggest moments, that’s the difference.

He took it upon himself to make sure his team wouldn’t bottle a 3 goal aggregate lead in the 2nd leg unlike someone else...

I didn't do none of that. We're not all the same you know?

Fair enough on the last part, that would explain your posts then ;)

I wasn't being humble about it. I said the exact same thing last night. You can't blame a forward for his team defending like schoolboys ffs. Only idiots and stans (the same thing) would in order to gain internet points.

Barcelona are cheats too. Correct. I'm not a Barcelona fan though so I couldn't give a feck about them.

Even funnier is Juve are the biggest cheats of all so I've no sympathy for them either.

So you're not disputing the single thing I said, you just felt like ranting on about a load of other stuff.

The penalty took balls. Glad you agree.
Probably was being overly picky on the basis of one comment, aye, apologies.

Hahaha Penaldo scored from the spot and he is the greatest of all time  what a joke. If Ramos was playing and took the penalty he would have scored. A penalty is 75%-25%. It means diddly squat.

Hang on, are people really saying there's no difference between having a penalty saved and missing the target?

My final hearing on this debate is simply this. Messi has more talent then Ronaldo he is pure natural ability. With that being said that does not make you a better footballer by any stretch of the imagination. There are many intangibles that make a great footballer. Ronaldo to me is the man of this era another CL would all but bury it. Only way out is a Maradona level World Cup from Messi. Nonetheless a absolute pleasure to be witnessing what in my eyes are 2 of the top 5 all time players in the history of the Sport. With that being said there always has to be a winner and that winner to me is Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo is definitely one of the greatest penalty takers ever and surly a top 5 player all time in my opinion.

He's not as good as Messi obviously but what great player he is.

That's a sitter, no doubt about it, but again, you can post Ronaldo sitters from tonight like his free header at the back post.

This is where you guys are just so hypocritical.

" Penaldo" yet Messi cant score them to save his life. You need some humbling seriously. You can not accept the fact can you. Bitter pill to swallow.

No, not if it's clearly a good save. That penalty in 08 was shocking though.

Ronaldo was totally absent today. But who cares? Madrid goes to semis so everybody will forget his performance.

Well, go back in time, give Barcelona a penalty in the 92', at Camp Nou, send off Alisson, and put him under the pressure that if he misses, he still has to play extra time, at home, vs 10.

Maybe he wouldn't bottle that yesterday, the way you need to do mental gymnastics to praise one and hate another it's really sad. The standard you guys use to judge Messi is that he has to play like Maradona in Mexico 86' and score like Ronaldo, way to go, fair play.

Well, one player created the chance that led to the penalty and scored the penalty to take his team into the SF.

The other did this when presented an easy chance:

For a player of his ability? A guy who scored a fecking outrageous overhead kick last week? I'd expect him to at least hit the target.

“Free header”

...real talk, only Ronaldo has the athleticism to high point a ball like that anyways, and here was a defender right on him.

You’re really saying that header with a defender on him on that tight of an angle is the same as Messi completely fecking up that clear cut sitter? Kk

That does not make him any less human. A difficult chance I still a difficult one. Hence why he gets praised for scoring said difficult ones.

OR if he missed and real happened to lose he would be crucified and laughed at and called a chocker. See how this plays out?

No, just showing up and not doing a disappearing act like the magician he is would be a start imo.

Whatever makes you feel better though I guess.

Nope. I'm not saying it's the same. Messi's was obviously the easier chance. I'm saying both have clear cut chances that they would otherwise bury but missed on that occasion. Only one is labelled a bottler though. Same as how both miss penalties but only one is a bottler there, too? You see the pattern?
