Spurs have lost 8 consecutive semi-finals in a row now. Jeez.

Mourinho once again proving the haters wrong. Great set up and tactics today.
Where did you get that stats. Didn't they lose to Crystal palace 2 or 3 years back in quarters.
Just to clarify, the stat is that they've lost their last 8 semi finals. Consecutive for the semis they have been in..not consecutive years!
Losing 8 over the last 8 years would be bonkers!

I was a bit gutted for Rashford not scoring.

He's done this a lot now where he does great in dancing round players to create the chance then fluffs the last bit.

Mourinho is taking us in the right direction. The games against City and Spurs prove that.

Magnificent football played, will be watching the game over and over.

Played free, constructive football with the perfect mix of attacking freedom and tight defensive work.

Go the Reds.

Sanchez now showing Rashford and Martial what they are lacking... steal determination and relentlessness
Be careful there mate, the Martial worshippers will throw all kind of stats on you and say Martial has been unfairly treated...

In all seriousness, you are right, AS was awesome today and Martial can learn a lesson or two from him on tracking back and putting in the hard yards and tackles to win the ball back.

They didn't bottle it if we were better.
Agreed. We completely shut down Spurs after scoring our second. They looked clueless going forward (kinda like sometimes we do when teams park the bus against us). But credit to Jose today. He picked the correct team and made the right calls tactically. I think this XI he should be able to trust (except maybe Smalling falling asleep on that first goal) in the FA cup final.

Yes, my only knock against Jose is that he is too reactive/defensive through the season. That said, today he green lighted going toe to toe with Spurs and we did just fine. Hope he can trust the team a bit more in this respect.

Great result, i think FA Cup is ours now. Cant see Chelsea/Southampton could have even a slightest chance against us in final after all what they have performed this season
Oooh, steady.

How dirty are this Spurs team?

Never ever gets commented on by BBC and Sky. Seriously some of the tackles yesterday were so dangerous.

It was a strange game. A good game of football, not a classic, but we did a very professional job. Eventually. Up until the first goal, I was speaking with my brother as we watched, and I was saying this is typical Mourinho United.. no attacking strategy at all. I still feel this, and this 'game of attrition' style is certainly not my cup of tea, as it isn't great to watch... our first goal capitalised on an error (but it was excellently executed...) and the second was a big smash up the pitch, and feed off the second balls. It reminded me of my semi-pro football days.

But our game management was superb.

It's all a bit messy, and I worry about Rashford, Pogba, Martial and Sanchez because I am not sure whether this is a style of play they really enjoy.. but let's see how the season ends, and what the cup final brings.

Well done to Jose and the lads.
Now maybe Joses doubters will get off his back and start supporting him; no, we haven't played scintillating football, and lets be honest, haven't done since SAF retired, but we're becoming contenders again, and winners after 5 bleak years. Under Jose Chelsea won the title with a record number of wins and goals, so he can do the exciting stuff too, and maybe next season we'll start to see it, but first we have to stay consistent and competitive, push City all the way and establish ourselves again, then, with consistency, a winning mentality and team ethic the football we all want to see will come.

I don't enjoy my job either, but I turn up! Some of our players have to realize theyre playing for a Club and a Team, ours, Manchester United, and not for themselves. Against Spurs they all seemed to get this, and hopefully it will stick!

For 20 mins they got at us, if they had gone 2 up it was over. But like this side has done is fight against the better sides. After we scored you could see spurs thinking oh no here we go again. Kane didn't have a kick in 2nd half and that said it all.. a win with 34% possesion. If we can get some better quality in midfield with the fighting spirit next season will be better. Chelsea in final looks like?

A very good professional performance in the second half. Well done to both team and manager. Just hope we can do the same in Final now.

You know Martial has had a better performance at this level while being younger and playing in a worse team than Sanchez? He assisted the first goal and scored the winning goal himself in the semis of our FA cup win 2 years ago.

Why not enjoy the win instead of bashing other United players while peddling falsehood?

I didn't see they can't or don't put in great performances, maybe even some better performances, but I think they might be a bit soft/ nice in comparison. Sanchez shows an aggression and bite to his game that inspires.

Martial and Rashford could do with some added bite. Chasing the game to the death.

If you watched the video, you must have seen the way Martial was asking for the ball in the buildup to the winning goal. The game would've gone to extra time if he did not score.

That's enough bite, aggression, and inspiration in a single event dare I say even better than what Sanchez showed yesterday.

The person i spotted that stood out was Rooney. A goal line clearance from chasing back. Now I know that's too much, but just asking for the ball is sometimes not enough. You need to inspire the team by fighting and even if that sometimes means you are out of position it might just provide the bite for other players to up their games.

Rooney was playing as a midfielder in that game. He was simply doing his job. So Rooney was the one that really stood out to you in that video, right?

Cool story

Fanboyism at its finest. It's hard to take you seriously after that last sentence tbh.

Recovered extremely well yesterday. After the goal we had a little wobble where Spurs had a few chances, but we managed to fight back and steady ourselves. What i especially liked about the second half is the control we had in terms of shutting Spurs down, but also not just sitting back and parking the bus. We didn't resort to pumping the ball up front for the most part - we actually broke well and had a few opportunities. It wasn't aimless, but more measured. We attacked in numbers and we attacked intelligently.

Pogba was obviously great for most of the game, and Sanchez no doubt put in his best performance. I actually said i wouldn't start him before the game so was more than happy to be proved wrong. His goal was class. The ball was slightly behind him so he had to adjust in the air; it was a superb header. Also great to see Herrera put in another incredible performance as i love the guy.

How dangerous would be if we could play well in both halves! There are people here with very dark red-tinted glasses. I said it after the City game: purple patches should not be allowed to hide the fat that our fullbacks are a joke. We looked better when Darmian came on although I'm sure I'll get abuse for backing him. The fact is we were awful for 20-30 minutes and in too many games you get punished for that. There were some very good performances in the second half and we deserved to win - DDG didn't have a difficult save to make -- but this team will never progress far in the CL. There were times we were crying out for width and I kept wondering how much better we'd have been if we had a Giggs and/or Becks. That said, Jose got it right after half time and keeping ALi and Kane quiet deserves praise. POssibly Sanchez's best game for us but the two standout performances for me were Jones and Herrera

You've literally posted the same video and said the same thing in three different threads

I think we get it mate...

Peddling falsehood? You new members really should not talk crap. Don’t get me wrong. Martial is clearly a talent and he has been underused. Sanchez has not been firing at all until yesterday. But Sanchez is obviously a better player at this point in their respective careers and yesterday’s performance refuted a lot of negative comments against him. My point is that Martial needs to learn how to graft and fight through adversity and not look lazy or pissed off everytime he loses the ball but just stands there. Fact is, he hasn’t improved in 2 years in his all around game. I guess you will say’s that’s Mou’s fault.
