He did well away to City and in the semi final, but martial especially was much more influential in the first half of the season then Sanchez has been in this half season.

There is so much space for him in this game, if he could just curtail his willingness to chase the ball he could get in time and again, stay high, provide a passing out for the midfielders.

What on earth has happened to our play this year? Last year we were getting games where goalkeepers were playing out of their skin against us nearly every game, and our forwards were messing up chances to score here there and everywhere. This year, despite adding top class attacking players, we hardly even threaten the opposition goal.

Mata's touch for that was just obscene, with a fantastically well timed run. And Carrick has been trying for that all game. Good to see us trying to play to Rashford's strengths with balls over the top rather than to his head.
