Nah Uruguay had better chances especially in the end. More clinical striker than Suarez would've won it for them with time to spare.
It's true, Suarez held them back today. But it doesn't matter how many chances you create if you can't finish them. Uruguay has edged it today by actually attacking. Egypt may come to rue letting this game get away from them.

"What have you got to lose?"

Well, you could lose him for the whole tournament by making his injury worse. So quite a lot is the answer...

Commentary has been fecking abysmal.

Anyone but Rashford
The BBC commentators are disgraceful. Uruguay have been fine and deserved the win. Created some great chances should have scored earlier.

Egypt showed no ambition at all. Pathetic performance.

We should buy Gimenez. Been class today as well and really strong in the air.

Uruguay had loads of very good chances tbf, not really unfair
Can think of Suarez having a few but hardly anything from Uruguay in second half apart from that Cavani shot just before they scored.

Considering thr gulf in quality between two teams I'd have expected Uruguay to be far more dominant but it's not really their style.

Godin and Gimenez are a wall. I don't want to face Uruguay

Suarez sold that like how The Rock used to sell Stone Cold Steve Austin's stunner

Uruguay were mostly dire but will be a very tough team to beat.

Good! Getting pissed off with this Salah love in.
How is the result harsh on Egypt? They were wank.

Deserved for Cavani who had a good game despite the lack of service.

Lovely assist from new Redcafe favourite Carlos Sanchez.

Cue "Mourinho put in 30m bid for this guy" etc.

Both teams were poor but the result was fair. Egypt might beat Saudi but I can't see them getting out of this group.

Uruguay looked rather toothless compared to their 2014 team.

Arrascaeta (The number 10 LM of Uruguay) seems like a decent player. Very good tactical mind.

Vecino was useless and Bentacur was sloppy and pointless

Egypt still very much in this though. Pretty much whoever wins the next match between them and Russia is through.

Uruguay as good as through with that win. Might be a bit cynical but surely one of the European teams like Wales, Italy, or Netherlands would do better than being the San Marino of the group the way Saudi are.

If Uruguay play against us in the next round we might as well go straight to penalties

Still think Egypt have a chance, but you'll imagine they have to win both their games now. Russia will have the GD advantage and I see Uruguay beating them but only narrowly.

why !! they showed nothing , they did not deserve anything.
They failed to defend from a corner and paid the price.
They didn't, but given the difference in quality which should normally be there between these two teams, Uruguay didn't really create much either, I think form their POV, a draw would've been fair.
