Could not believe the number of times and the amount of space on the counter for Mexico.

Germany look like Arsenal tbh
and France like United. All to blame on Özil and Pogba?

He needs to put in Reus for Müller or Draxler. Khedira is horrible too. Kimmich needs to play more defensively and he gets no support from Müller. Hummels wasn't good too.

Who have Germany tried out as DM since Schweinstiger/Lahm quit or have they have the same midfield in the qualifiers?

That was shocking defending by Hummels for the goal

Can't imagine what Brazil will do against such slow defense and midfield, surely perfect time for revenge ?

Draxler, ozil and muller are offering nothing in attack. Kross and khedira end up in the edge of the box to create and germany gets hit in the counter.

Well read game by the mexico manager. The 3 mexico CAMs are fast as hell

Which one you think? You think u love mexico? You think it has got nothing to do? You met a mexican girl? You think she's a girl?
I think she was hot as feck, nearly as good as this Mexican football. She even flew to Ireland but the weather sucks and she couldn’t handle it.

We look a bit slow. Bring in Sane.

Seriously though, Germany don't look bad but Mexico move the ball quicker and are more aggressive.

Hes probably thinking because there is currently nobody there in midfield pretty much. Massive holds in the midfield and defense.
They should take him off and put an actual defender on. He's a liability against Mexico m

Me too. Early days but it already has the potential to be a classic WC?

The only downside is when BBC have the game and Phil Neville is commentating (like today). He is a dreadful co commentator... actually tempted to turn the sound down and listen to Talksport (!)
Bbc red button lets you watch the live game, but with Bbc 5live commentary

If the Mexicans learn how to pick a pass they’d be 2 even 3 nil up.

Expected Germany to be a bit off the pace. They're rebuilding and don't give a toss, we all know in a couple of years they'll have got the basis for another cracking side and we'll be complaining about " those bloody Germans," again!

So let's enjoy it while we can..but remember they haven't lost yet

Mexico great value for the lead though Kroos was unlucky with the freekick. Honestly Carlos Vela looks immense today, showing the player he could have been had he been more consistent or wanted it more.

This looks like Brazil x Belgium in 2002 to me. The Belgians were smashing Brazil but did not kill the game, then they lost.

It's only half time isn't it. They can't be as bad as that in the second half and Mexico must have used up a lot of energy.

Mexico will likely put Jesus “Tecatito” Corona in for Vela in the second half. He’s a VERY good winger who runs at tired legs, much like Lozano.

Vela has been underperforming so far

Would put it more on the tactics, but it is funny how maybe it's trying to shoehorn those 2 that it's due to tactics. Germany are using a front 4 who do nothing defensively, then just khedira and kroos in midfield, who again, dont do much defensively. It's a simple fix, just throw goretzka in there for Ozil and change khedira for another mid cause hes shite. But if this is Loew's long term plan, they arent going far. Was my concern with them before the WC and everyone went to the standard "its Germany theyll be fine". They wont be fine unless they realize they cant get by with khedira and kroos in midfield.

When the attack breaks down, he's in a winger position. Someone else is supposed to cover him. He's not superman
Supposed to being the operative word. It's not happening, so maybe he should use his common sense and just stop going forward as much.

Yes, it means Germany won't have the outlet, but it also means they won't be vulnerable at the back.

They still have four players (should do) up top to hurt Mexico.

Germany's midfield has been terrible in defensive transitions. So slow it hurts to watch

Very impressed with Mexico, I still think they're weak defensively though and when Germany start putting some pressure it shows.
