Ali has been consistently poor at international level. He shouldn't be a guaranteed starter.

We showed some decent attacking play at the start. Its a hard fought win, but a win is a win.

Bit strange for Shearer to suck off Kane after that, its Loftus Cheek that made things happen.

Most deserved win of the tournament. Tunisia should have been out of the match after just 10 minutes.

Southgate really making a point about trying to show some personality.

Good win, strong performance. I think we showed a good account of ourselves today.

Never mind. We're going to win the World Cup once more.
Compared to the previous years,( if England are lucky enough), there aren't many strong contenders among the other big footballing nations. If the young players could gel enough they do have a great chance.

That's Tunisia for you. We have played against them loads and loads of time, National team and clubs. They're masters at rolling over the pitch, faking injuries and time wasting.
By far the worst in the WC so far and seemingly the best at it. They seemed to spend the entire second half cheating and didn't get a yellow?

Deserved win for England. Dodgy pen for Tunisia was all they offered. England had countless chances and should've had a couple of pens too. That should settle the nerves and a good fixture next.

The commentators are lording it off again. Make no mistake this second half has been poor. We will be destroyed playing like this against better opposition.
The better opposition haven't played much better themselves

Credit to kane - will do him a world of good

RLC is a great option to have in midfield - impressive

"Brazil, Spain, Portugal & Argentina didn't... England did" cringe.
People would of ignored this had it been a draw to be fair. 2 of them looked worst, and it's questionable about the third.

Harry Kane just doesn't care. What a man, first big name to deliver properly since like Shearer, especially with the reputation behind them. What a man. As Lamps just said, he IS a superstar, he's replacing Benzema at Madrid, if he wants it that is. He may not do much after the Belgium game, but so what.

Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt all losing in the last minute

England had a shocking second half but the win is definitely deserved. That's not saying much though.

What's the relationship like between the fans/nations in Northern Africa? Friendly rivalry and banter or long-time animosity? (Good luck tomorrow, by the way).

Who cares. All we need to worry about for now is getting out the group. Anyway we looked really good in the first half, they just got tired in the second.
Tired in the second? It's the first match of the tournament. England are in a good place to qualify, just need a professional performance against Panama now, no complacency.

It's a crazy game. Two times that nobody marking Kane, the only striker there.

England has a proper 9. Kane’s positioning and his header in that second goal is superb.

Thoroughly deserved win. This is not one of the better Tunisian teams. They were really poor and very fortunate.

Loftus-Cheek has earned a start next match.

Not sure who for though. I’d be tempted to give one of the CB’s the boot as I don’t think they’re good enough to warrant playing three of them.

Get in England! First half was very good, second half was more difficult but to be fair Tunisia did very little.

We made it difficult by missing our chances but the referee was really poor, how Tunisia got away with both penalty calls while they get a soft one is beyond belief.

Nonetheless, good first win. Hope we can go up a gear next game.

Feck me. England just about squeeze through and they're soaking it up and doing a lap of honour like they won 5-0  on a level with the Liverpool 2-2 WBA trophy.

They'll get found out in the knockouts.

Glad Tunisia lost with that cynical performance. England was terribly wasteful but in the end this is probably the fairest result. Looks like it ll be an interesting race for the Golden Boot.
