One of the best midfielders ever. It's a shame it's getting old.

Not at his best tonight but has had a fabulous tournament so far
Que? He was fabulous and controlled the game like he wanted to. Even Panama would have had a shot with him in the team. Player of the tournament for sure.

He completely killed England's left side by drifting out and playing in the space left by the wingbacks.
He's so tactically aware
Great observation. I've yet to see him struggle to adapt to an opponent.

But the Caf have spoken, didn't you hear, he is the bestest player ever in the world, let alone exyu.

And then I get asked to mention better players in exyu than him....why would I waste my time, firstly they are obvious to ppl who actually watched football before 2000s....secondly even if I did, the Luka praisers have already decided he is the best, no amount of argument can convince them otherwise, however in the wrong they are.

Over and out.
Jesus Christ, one of the worst posts I’ve ever seen.

Why not instead of dismissing everyone else’s argument, you try and fecking debate? No doubt you watched every one of Dzajic’s games right? You’re a hypocrite.

Nah you’re right though. The caf has spoken and therefore you don’t need to put forth any kind of sound argument. Fecking idiot.

Should win the Balon d'Or should they win the cup. He was easily the best player in the CL final as well.

Very good as well, played the holding role in midfield. I don't watch Inter much so not very familiar with his style.
Yeah, he made the most passes (15 more than Modric and 2 more than Rakitic) and 1 more key pass than Modric with 3 to 2.

Definitely seems to have gone under the radar today because he's playing next to a Real CM and a Barca CM on either side.

Doesnt mean he was better than Modric, but he was up there too. Modric certainly didnt do everything himself today

Player of the tournament for me. What an absolute gem. Never looks like he's out of ideas. Never looks flustered!

Wouldn't mind if the real LM10 went onto win it all.

He's one of the best midfielders I've ever seen. I don't think it was one of his best games but his standard performances are still a level above.

Tbf, Portugal in the last Euro shut him down by man-marking him. @Peyroteo knows it. :D

It will be interesting how he will handle Kante for example.
Adrien Silva completely shutting Modric down on a Euros knockout game was the highlight of being a Sporting fan in the past few years. I’ll never forget that one. If Kante is tasked with doing the same job he’ll be even tougher.

Modric is still the best midfielder in the world, but he’s the only player in the world who can put an average performance and have people calling him a genius for it. Perisic, Brozovic and Mandzukic were the best croatian players tonight

Already a legend of the game. If he puts a stellar performance in the final and they win the thing he will upgrade to one of the best midfielder ever tier

Obviously a great player but considering a England s rather shite midfield you d figure France will have no problems winning that battle with the players they have and the blueprint England provided in the first half.

So calm and composed no matter what the occasion. Had a great tournament and I hope he goes onto win it.

I was surprised he did such a good job tbh, but on the other hand, you don't often see players go man-marking opposition midfielder who isn't even so much of a goal threat. Thought he was very good tonight, the grit and determination to grab hold of the game in the second half was impressive.

One of the best midfielders ever but he did nothing of note today
Pretty unfair. Had a quiet first hour.

The moment England started getting listless after an hour he ran the show. Put his foot on Englands neck and kept applying more pressure.

Player of the tournament will go to Modric or Kante depending on who wins the final.

He was definitely better in the second half but I think that England played their part in that too.

I’m actually very happy for Croatia btw, the 2016 loss was very cruel and it’s nice to see it didn’t faze them. I don’t think Croatia have been great but there’s a lot of heart in this team.

If he wins the WC don't see any reason why he shouldn't be judged on the same standard as Ronaldo or Messi, after all he plays for Real Madrid and has been helping that team to win trophies also.

I'd like him to win it, but i don't think it's going to happen sadly.

I think if Croatia wins there is a bigger chance for him than Mbappé or Griezman with France for example, no reason to leave Modric out of this discussion.

Thought he was poor in the first half and both him and Rakitic (Rakitic was worse) couldn't handle the press England were employing. In the second half though, as England dropped back, he got more control and dictated play much better. For this match, Perisic was much better throughout the match.

They definitely upped their level in the second half, England struggled badly against them.

It was both Croatia being better but also England changing their tactics by sitting back more and basically hoofing it up to Kane.

Yeah i guess, considering he also won the CL. I just have a feeling most people involved will regardless vote Ronaldo/Messi, I'd be happy if I'm proved wrong.

Ronaldo won the UCL, no chance Modric is winning it. And it wouldn't even be the biggest travesty if Modric doesn't end up winning really, Ribery in 2013 and Sneijder in 2010 are the worst snubs for the Ballon' dOR during the Messi/Ronaldo era.
