Or managers, considering he is playing for shite Inter?
Jose was desperate to sign him last Summer. But "there was no value in the market".

Noone ever said this guy was shit mate.
Last Summer, plenty of people were saying he was shite. Plenty.

 Finish Him!
I think he did, lol.
A lot of people in here, with egg on their faces. Hopefully, nobody will bring anymore quotes from last year's Perisic transfer thread, otherwise it could get very messy in here.
Most football fans, apparently know more than Jose Mourinho.

OLE OLE OLE I LOVE YOU
Mourinho wanted to sign Arnautovic by the likes of it too... They obviously decided he is not that good considering we gave up on him.
Who wanted to buy Arnautovic? Who told you this? And who decided not to buy him?

Pathetic.. Just shows your hatred for Jose.

He is great in a counter-attacking team where his speed and finishing will be of great use but when against a defensive team where you need more technical and creative skills he still lacks it IMO. That was the case when he was at Dortmund and Wolfsburg and haven't seen anything different in this World Cup.

On serious side, he's valuable player to have as an option, but to me not good enough as Martial or Sanchez or whoever is our first team wing option.

He brings something different to the table, but he also has to adjust to the Premiership as well. We all know how good Mkhi looked in Germany and how bad he looked at United.

At 29 he's not the best investment, considering how high his stocks will be, especially after the WC.

He's way better than Martial quite frankly.

That depends. Not better than the Martial we saw in the first season. He doesn't have the same ceiling as Martial and would be an equal risk to flock Martial as to bring in Perisic.

At least we don't have to pay 50-60m for Martial, who is also 5 years younger.

Talk of ceilings on this forum really irks me - especially when it’s used to compare players.

There is no guarantee that Martial will ever reach his potential, and he hasn’t done anything to suggest he will in the last 2 two years.

That is a distant memory. You cannot use a players performance from 3 years ago to discuss his current state. Perisic perhaps suites Jose more than Martial. I do believe Martial could eclipse him as a player

Just goes to show the naivety of many on here who don’t understand the difference between top players at the peak of their powers and kids like Rashford and Martial

Can someone post more comments from his thread last year please ❤
We been linked with this halloween mask look alike since Jose became manager which makes me believe there is actually truth in us wanting him. My only question is how the feck mediocre players like this will ever take us forward. There is young fresh potential out there like Leon Bailey yet we show no interest in players like that instead we waste time on 30 year old shite like Perisic.
From this year's transfer thread. Fair enough if people don't want him but it gets tedious reading the same hipster insults.

Yes it's not a guarantee Martial will reach his potential but there is a chance at least. On the other hand Perisic is at his peak with no chance of improvement. Martial while playing half of what Perisic played for Inter matched his stats easily last season. And when you take into consideration that attacked usually play below par for us and a experienced world class pro like Sanchez looked absolutely clueless at times for us, Perisic would have been pretty poor IMO.

Most people who thought he is nothing special last year, probably think the same this year. People who made their opiniom judging by couple of games on World Cup are the one who shouldn't be taken seriously. Anyway, lot of Croatians were actually unhappy with Perisic for half of the games.

Edit: what a mess of a post, sorry, was watching the game and typing with sticky fingers.

Sure, but what's the guarantee that Perisic would hit the ground running in Premiership? He doesn't have much time to adjust either. It's quite different league to Italy and we saw it with Darmian.

I'll take people forming an opinion based on a handful of games over morons who have never seen him play but form an opinion based on videogames and stats.

People need to see his performance with Inter before judging. Everybody making a fuss after seeing two world cup matches/

I am pretty sure there's lot of us who have seen Croatia before the world cup, and watched some Inter games over the years. It's not like folks who pretend they have watched Anderlecht or PSV talents regulary.

I very much doubt that. Look at the Matic thread before we signed him, and he was actually playing in the PL. The naysayers actually watched him play for us and were amazed. "Oh shit, he's actually really good".

No, but he is a credible journalist with a solid track record. And you have provided what exactly? Nothing.
I don't feel the need to prove anything, you were the one who started it with Perisic. Mourinho could have wanted to give no more than 20 millions for him and use him as a rotation player for all we know. It's not like di Marzio has 100% record, I reckon half what he said turned out to be wrong. Him being better than the rest doesn't make his news official.

You doubt people watch Croatia and Inter from time to time?

Matic had really poor and mixed season before that and people were questioning why Chelsea are selling him. Even our own Mourinho lost the trust on him one or two years before he digned him.

You said Mourinho wanted Arn. You have provided absolutely nothing to back that up.

Apparently there is a PDF of a report on Inter from the Club Financial Control Body's investigatory chamber available to download from UEFA's website that documents our bids.

Yes, I do. The people who were so vocal in their criticism of Perisic, certainly.

Perisic is living proof of how clueless most football fans are.
From last year's transfer thread:
He looks woefully average. Does the same thing every time he is on the left; checks backs with a neat Cruyff turn, then again, then again.

If the defender doesn't throw themselves to the ground to block his dummied cross and stands him up, won't beat them.

Guy is 28 and €50m is far to much money. Should of just taken Navas on a free.
:lol::lol::lol:

Somehow his user name makes this so much more brutal.
