Kane, Kroos and Bale - why can't we just wrap up these deals FFS.

Soo much deadwood we can sell too.

I just came up with with a Muppet theory. Madrid had a bid accepted and we found out so now we're trying to come in with a late bid a la Bale which will be rejected.
Point is, Kane to Madrid is happening.
Could be bang on but I don’t think there is any guarantee Kane would go to Madrid, things are in such flux there and they ain’t winning the CL this year that’s for sure.

Not necessarily. They could be making the whole thing up, just moving the odds manually.
Could be any of a few different scenarios.
My guess is that on the back of the Zlatan statement a few wide boys have concocted a just plausible situation and spread a few small bets around (the choice of bookie and clubs is important here) knowing that they’ll immediately be able to lay the bet off as the rush starts to get on.
They’re then left with a guaranteed profit and a free bet if they choose to retain some of it.

My theory is the Sun is a load of shite and Kane is going nowhere. It'd take a world record fee for Spurs to even consider selling

haha a couple of bets from 1 pub moves markets like that?!

Odds would be chaotic if so!
It takes very little money to significantly move a transfer odds market. The shifting of the odds draws more people in as muppets start to think it's actually happening.

Even them I'm not sure, it's too late in the window now to sell him, we wouldn't even be able to get close to signing an adequate replacement. Nobody else would be silly enough to sell their star players with so little time left and even if they were they'd absolutely rinse us knowing we'd just received a record fee and would be absolutely desperate. We would be left with Janssen and Llorente as strikers, clubs would be asking for 100m+ for 15 goal a season strikers because they'd know we would have to pay it.

If we didn't replace him we would 100% miss out on the top four and wouldn't be likely to get back in for the forseeable future, which would be a huge financial hit regardless of the fee we received. Not to mention the board would have turned the entire fanbase against them.

Basically, a complete non-starter...

I think at best there might have been a discussion involving Martial and Kane.

Muppetry has a way of making one forget or ignore the reality on ground.

We all know Kane is not coming to Man United and that it would cost heaven to lure him here cos he just signed a new deal and besides we have more pressing concerns than signing another CF atm but hey the thread has reached 4 pages+ in just under 40 mins....Lol.

Even thought there is around a 1% chance of this happening, I have been refreshing twitter every 5 minutes. Its about time silly season started, I realise im happier to be upset by stupid unrealistic signings not coming off than by nothing at all happening.

He's best as a wide player isn't he? I was under the impression his performances as an out an out striker were questionable at best. I certainly don't see him as a man who can lead the line, seems more a player in the Son mould, can play there if needed but not ideal. So we'd still basically be left with no actual strikers but better depth out wide.

It's got to be total BS though right? Kane?! Where would we play him? Are we going 442?!

How could it be? Bookies set their own prices. The whole purpose is to set a price that will tempt people to bet.
To drop the odds as such, then advertise it like they have. They are going out of their way and implying there's something in this.

I guess anyone with a brain isn't going to get sucked in.

World's shortest discussion.
Yea agreed. As a United fan I wouldn't sell Martial to Spurs at any cost barring Harry Kane coming the other way(plus whatever cash). I can see Ed being a muppet like the rest of us and testing waters.

Would you take £150-175m and Martial?
No. Not because I think he's worth that much (He isn't) but he's absolutely loved by the fans and we are nowhere even near capable of finding a better or even equal level of striker. Martial still has a lot of question marks over him and wouldn't be worth getting if it meant we lost our prized asset, and the money we got would probably at best buy us a far worse striker because (as I've said) other clubs would be fully aware we desperately needed a striker with such little time to go.

Selling Kane at this point in the window would be utter, utter madness... Levy is many things but he is not insane.
