no reason why Pereira shouldn't get a good chance this season - he's ready

Pool doing what they do all season. Long ball over to try and Find Salah. So predictable they’re going to struggle big time trying to get away with that all season again. If we played like that the usual clowns would be slaying us at every opportunity.

Fabinho looks like an inferior bakayoko.

The speed of TFM and Tuanzebe is astounding. Making Salah look like slug.

Not bad at all considering the hodgepodge of players available.

That’s what I thought. Wish I could watch but I’m really happy to hear he’s playing well. Think he could be special for us if given the proper opportunity.
He's played well all preseason but we have to qualify that with the fact that it is preseason though. He's been the player of the tour in my opinion.

Jose has his favourites, who tend to get picked ahead of in-form players.
Hopefully, Jose will play Perriera, though.

Its still Liverpool. Every player has to be up for such a game preseason or not. Look at how Mourinho is talking to the ref and the players arguing and complaining. Hardly seems like a friendly game.

McTominay has looked like a very limited player every time I've seen him play regardless of the kind of game.
Preseason or not McTominay and Herrera have been poor these last few games so I agree with you. They're supposed to be playing themselves into contention for the opening match against Leicester. Pereira is looking more focused in preseason so what's their excuse for not showing more effort three games in?

Our game plan is to pass it back to Grant and kick it up front to Van Dijk and Klavan.

Chances of a Chong this evening? I haven't had any this pre-season so wouldn't mind a touch.

Diving around in a pre-season friendly, so shameless .

Banger of a FK from Andreas though, Mata kinda pointless in these games because he can't run at all, legs completely gone. Lukaku with Sanchez up front against Liverpool during the season will be very interesting.

Does Stuart Gardener do anything else besides Mutv?
He should do, he's not a very good commentator (IMO)...

his voice doesn't suit it...his excited voice isn't good enough, he just sounds like he's had a nice bottle of wine...

Good first half in the main. Some wobbly defending, especially from Demi unfortunately, but on the whole a decent preseason workout.

The counter attack has been positive for us, when we've committed we've put Liverpool under pressure. Were Mata were quicker, and didn't need to go early, one of those offsides would've been a goal. Good signs for when we get the likes of Lukaku back.

Andreas has again been the standout. Really showing how much we've missed a Carrick style player who can pick forward passes.
Agree with that, simple quick, progressive passes finding players in space with time to turn. Don't have to be the Hollywood balls that Pogba sometimes gets fixated on when he drops deep, and Matic does not really have that mentality with his passing, far too cautious despite having the ability to do more. Will Mourinho make space for him when he gets Fred integrated and Felllaini, Matic and Pogba back though? Could see him looking to go on loan again if he is only going to get cameo minutes, 22 yo needs to be getting his career on the move.

A lot of you are in for major disappointment. Pereira won't get many games next season. Mourinho will stick with Fellaini, Matic and McTominay as much as possible alongside Pogba. No guarantees he'll even play Fred regularly - look at the game time for Bailly and Lindelof.

Interesting to see and myself too included how much tinted glasses we as fans actually see the game. Liverpool have absolutely dominated and it's been one end only. And how United fans see it as a decent and good etc. Imo United has been on the ropes pretty much. The only chance was the free kick which was taken well. If Liverpool had taken it's chances it would be 3-1 easily.

Like I said. Tinted glasses from both sides :smirk:

I think I saw him play in the last game, but every time he got the ball, he got shoved off the ball....very easily.
Physically, he isn't ready. It really was a case of a boy, playing against men.
He needs to improve his physicality, by a lot.

What about Bailly? He played a lot in his first season. Injured and bad in the second.

And the two wingbacks are weakest links. Mitchell might be useful on the final third, but can't defend. As for Darmian, he can't even impersonate a professional footballer any more. What a fall from grace for an Italian international.
I hope we’re very confident in someone paying the ridiculous price we set for him, otherwise we run the risk of looking like the right mugs.

That must be why McTominay got 10 starts and Herrera was favoured over him once he got over his injury issues.

Let me guess you tried to create a tenuous height link, and made assumptions to fit that link.

Herrera looks like a man on a mission...

A mission to make McTominay look a little less shit, by performing even worse.
wonder how is it for Herrera to play next to someone like McTominay who is almost as slow as Matic and cant pass the ball at all and on other side someone as shit as Darmian. Not sayign Herrera is havign a good game but his side is very week, and considering the very unexperienced five at the back, it is difficult for sure to be comfortable in possession

we are blessed to have so many talented scouts and youth team coaches on this forum
I watched McTominay since his youth days and don't think I need to be a scout to claim anything like this, almost anyway will agree with me and I accept bets if he's here beyond Mourinho

We literally have at most two players from our first XI starting.

I agree with what you have said.
But I am hoping Jose changes his ways and plays an in-form, young player, who isn't one of his favourites.
Bear in mind that Perriera is working very hard and this is something which Jose likes. Maybe, that'll be enough for Jose to pick him.
