The issues are there are stuff that is still happening from last season.

Lack of width is killing us. We are poor defensively. We got too many sideward passers in midfield.
Pretty much this. I don't care about the scoreline but we've still to rectify our issues on the pitch, and I'm worried we won't.

I remember 2013's pre-season as well, where we looked clueless and carried it into the season. It maybe just a pre-season friendly, but add that to what's happening off the field, with the manager looking miserable and no recent additions to the squad and it can certainly all add up.
Well yeah I can’t say I’m optimistic but I’m not going to watch a meaningless game where most of our team aren’t even on tour and then use it to start making sweeping generalisations and moaning like a child.

The result is meaningless, everyone knows that. The performance and how we shape up tactically can be indicative though.

I hear you. This pre season hasnt been ideal. No indication of a system, players missing and no chance to play with the team that will start the season (injuries, world cup players etc). I wont criticize to much at this point- when all the players are available including Pogba and Lukaku, there will be a better picture of where the team actually stands.

We would though because pre-season is pretty much fitness and auditions.
It's about making money last time I heard. Just seen a United squad taken apart infront of 100,000 fans. At least the club are raking it in. It's those who follow the football side who suffers.

Did we really extend Mourinho's contract?
Yes, because the club is run by fecking idiot money men. It'll be all the more bizarre when we sack him and have to pay him more compensation to leave.

Ignore the lack of first team players and ignore the result, and concentrate on the way we play. The way those young players have been coached to play. It's very worrying.
This is far.

No matter the 11, we're ugly and it's the same tumescent filth we saw for most of last season. That's our style now, it's what we are.

The Mourinho haters are out in full force tonight. Must have had too much to drink on this fine Saturday evening.

It is a pre season game, all about getting match fitness.

We played our reserves. Players that didn’t feature were.
De Gea, Smalling, Jones, Lindelof, Shaw, Valencia, Young, Matic, Pogba, Rashford, Martial, Lingard, Lukaku.

That is 9 missing from our best 11 last season.

PSG just got beat 5-1 off Arsenal. Take this game with a pinch of salt you absolute fairies.

The standard was exceptionally poor in that second half. It can't be a good thing that we're now 4 matches into our pre-season and haven't played well once.

Not nice to see Utd lose againest Liverpool in any game, but at the end of the day it’s only pre-season and it bares no outcome for the start of the season.

Besides them 2 penalties they had were laughable decisions, they were the better team and deserved to win but awful decisions like that just make the result a little more annoying.

The comments in here, pre season is just getting players fit. Lvg beat Liverpool in pre season and won all his games on the US tour, then we were beat by Swansea and played shit football. It's always nice to win but the reality is we will have a different team for Leicester. I'm sure the Liverpool fans will be convinced that it's their year now.

It all stems from the manager. No progressive manager would have McTominay in the team, nor extend Fellaini's contract, nor be happy with Young and Valencia at fullback... etc.

We've went from the negativity of Moyes and Van Gaal and hired a manager with a more successful brand of negativity. We've learned nothing.

It’s a preseason friendly. People are reading into this game far too much. I’m more than happy to have Liverpool thrash us in the glorified season warmup friendly in Detroit if we can beat them home and away in the league this upcoming season.

Start worrying if it happens in one of the first league matches we have.

In isolation you’d be right mate. But this outpouring of outrage is really the result of the football we’ve been subjected to since he got here. I don’t think anyone really cares about the result of a friendly. More that the way we play offers little hope for the future.

PSG have a front 3 of Neymar, Mbappe, Cavani, and play in a much weaker league. Let's worry about ourselves, given our last 5 seasons...

Coward's football. I just wonder- if you can't be brave in pre-season and at least try attacking, then when?

You can feck off with that shit.

The result isn't important but the performance is a worry. We look as disjointed and shambolic as ever.
Come on how many starters did we have in the team today ?

Let's at least wait for the season to start before the meltdowns.

The last time we had a shite pre season we finished 7th :nervous:
If anything, Lukaku and Pogba havent played yet and Fred is a talented midfielder who could be very important this season. They key players havent touched a ball pre season so i'd uphold any judgement until the team actually lines up with all the players.

What a total arsehole. No need for this comment. You really have no idea.
No idea of what? How shite our football is? I do, that’s why I compared it to a malignant disease that infects the purity of the game. If you are referring to my use of the C word, I said nothing disparaging about about that. My own father died of it. And it was brutal. The two things don’t correlate.

Missed the game. Did we really hoof it to a non-existent targetman all game? Where's the tactical adaptability?

We played so many aimless long balls tonight, it was pretty awful to watch. They weren't even angled diagonal passes or switches of play, it was just straight, often overhit, punts most of the time. I know we were missing a lot of first team players but I'd have liked to see those players we did put out there encouraged to be braver and more expressive on the ball, especially since it was a friendly. I hope we're at least getting a good workout from these games.

Only watched first half. Expected Liverpool to press and I expected us to struggle with the press because we're not particularly good at being pressed. That said, no team is.

Had a few good moments on the counter. Obvious highlight was Pereira's goal, who I thought was our best player again. Well, in the first half anyway.

We're trying out different systems and personnel so it's not going to be as good on the eye as some would like. Liverpool, on the other hand, know their system and will most certainly go into next season with the 433 they played for the majority of last seaosn.

Honestly think Mourinho is not too sure with what he will go with against Leicester in our first game of the season. We have a lot of players missing and his job will be to get the best out of what we have got.

Results don't matter, but the lack of cohesion and all the same problems from last year do matter. Yikes. Not looking forward to this year. Mourinho better be going into the season on thin ice.

Liverpool had the stronger team and you'd expect them to win, but it's another game where we struggle to create anything.

Mourinho has been here 2 years and there's still no coherent attacking plan. It's terrible to watch no matter who the 11 are.

Well that was fecking shit. Not sure I can take another season of relentless passes back to the keeper for him to hoof it long. Missing a lot of first teamers but we sure managed to recreate all the worst elements of their football from last season. Complete pile of piss, from start to finish.

Don't mind losing. Don't even mind losing 4-1. The football was unbelievably bad.

I apologise if I offended anyone with my cancer comment. As someone who’s own father died of the disease, I would hate if it caused anyone distress. Was not my intent at all.
