Some people would argue that has been our transfer policy over the past year or so, at least out of frustration.
I know but it's mind numbingly depressing especially given the pre season we've had. Leicester first and then Spurs look bad prospects. By anyone I meant someone like Manolas, De Ligt, Upamecano. Anyone seems like an improvement over Jones, Smalling and Rojo.

Don't worry lads, I know you're pain, we're still in need of feckin defenders, so emery decides to shift our best defender - Chambers out the door on loan, and we're left with Sokratis and Mustafi, we're conceding every game.
Chambers your best defender , It's Mustafi(Minus the brainfarts) >Sokratis>Holding>Chambers=Mavropanos, he is absolutely average and good thing your new coach is smart enough to not rely on him for the upcoming season, Emery rightly so sent him on loan.

As much as I love Gary, nothing is as black and white as that when it comes to transfers.

You could have had a deal all ready to go, all summer, for the perfect player to fill a void in the squad.

But if you're waiting on the selling team to buy a replacement, and they don't get sorted until deadline day, then you're hanging on.

A purchase on deadline day could just mean you've been dealing with a team that is badly run.

Indeed. Levy leaves it late every year and he is lauded for his transfer dealings.
Neville tweet is 6 years old. Not sure what the guy retweeting is getting at at all. Seems to be a convoluted dig but it doesn’t land

What does he know about economics and dealing with guys like Levy though?

Our valuation of a player might as well be accepted on deadline day due to a club getting desperate, dropping their insane price. Ozil and berbatov was signed on deadline day.. Im sure there's plenty of other good examples

Anyone but Rashford
Pep's points per money spent last year was lower than Mourinho. The Pep Guardiola is my idol exposed again.

Honestly, I wish he'd have gone out on loan to another good PL side so he could playe every week. He's now not only competing with Barkley, but Kovacic as well. And Kovacic will surely be first choice or he wouldn't have agreed to come here.

Ruben could've gone out, got another season under his belt, and then taken Kovacic's place if/when he returns to Madrid.

I realise the tweet is old, and wasn't replying to it purely in the context of united this season, but with any club on any deadline day. He still made the comment at some point in time, I just happen to disagree with it.

I agree with you though that the retweet was clearly an attempt at a dig at United, falls particularly flat for me though.

Seems as if the club is admitting we can't win the league with our current budget and team. Since this is the case, I'm sure they wouldn't mind us not renewing our season tickets and attending games this year, what with the result at the end of the season being inevitable.

I disagree with the tweet also. I really don’t get the point of the retweet

There won’t be any consequences after this window. At least, not for the owners.

Is it 17:00 BST the window closes?
We couldn't get any deals done for the last month and now, with 1.5hrs remaining, we are going to try and get a deal done?
If this genuinely is Woodward's strategy (and I am not sure it is), then the guy should not be in charge of transfers.

Woody and Levy are arm wrestling to see who wins, but so far they've just broken their own wrists.

Hollow threat, really. Season tickets are only a small part of the financial pie and with waiting times being several years long, they know you won't risk it on a protest

He was great last year when he was fit, he's ready now IMO. Can't understand why he doesn't get chances with you?

Zouma to Everton kind of hints at Mina to us.
No it doesn't. Everton were always in for one CB but since letting Ashley Williams go and finally polishing their glasses to realize how bad Jagielka has gotten they've been trying to recruit two.
