    Good tactical game by Mourinho.
They were lucky with the goal.

We should also remember that we have players who haven't played together yet.

Pogba was playing his first game with Fred and Pereira and it was a good midfield display from the three of them.

Fairplay, 3pts. but we looked horrible. thats gonna be our season in one 90min nutshell.....this team is going nowhere beyond top 5 at very best. and i don't care how many happy clappers i get ignored by....come Christmas you'll all be ln board, but with some self righteous deflection from this standard point such as 'Sanchez should be RW' or 'Rashford needed a loan Joses a dick for not seeing this' or 'We need a #7.2 to fully release Pogba' or 'Ed didn't buy us a CB who can hit like Scholes'

Fact is,we are a bang average top 4 team with ridiculous wages. nothing more, nothing less. keep attending.lads, keep chanting. maybe some of you can be the new Arse Fam TV

    In fairness, he probably would.
I don't get it. Was a decent game. Yeah we don't look world beaters but Fred looked promising and I'm not a gammon walking ball of rage

What a freaking stupid post, are stupid in real life too? Good judgement from the first game of the season with so many players missing, you sir are the first person on my ignore list in this website, not that you care but still, bye.

We didn't look good but we won.

Feck. People complaining after a win.
I may be done with the football forum.
Some of you lot should just stop posting. Feck off you bunch of miserable scrotes.
Feck. People having opinions! Outrageous! That is not what a football forum is for!

Read the Q&A guys, it clearly says that you cannot be negative even if you beat Bury 1-0 with 10% possession at Old Trafford.

I'm in the same camp. It's gonna be stressful at times watching us this season but there are moments when I look at us and figure that we're not halfway as bad people make out. There's a distinct lack of real movement when we have possession and sometimes we're too focused on going central when we could spread out to the wings and open things up a little more but when we break we do it with a lot of pace and some intricate and quick one touch does carve out chances. I thought we got a foothold those last ten to fifteen minutes when Leicster started to tire and were unlucky in how we conceded. We went to sleep at the end but at least with a win on our first day back we're looking okay and not playing catch-up.

I can't help but think the new update system for yellow cards etc and goals will put @GifLord out of a job?

I like the new system, but we need to respect Giflord.

Pogba- fred were amazing. Can't wait to see them with attack in form. Defence very good. Delighted with bailly- lindelof combo.
Attack was awful. Rashford is not no9. Mata is mata. Not a winger but doing his job. For alexis i don't even now what to say.
But 3 points is all what is matter. Can't wait brighton with lukaku in attack and alexis in better form.

There were a number of break opps that broke down. Fingers crossed we can improve on that.

@GifLord should have a statue outside OT

    Reasonable performance.

Sanchez should have done better, Lukaku should have scored, Shaw did! ....great confidence booster for the lad.

    3 points.

'Expected goals' is the most bollox thing in modern football

Nah, it's fine. Did you watch us play last year? It showed what anyone with eyes could tell, that we weren't really the 2nd best team in the Prem and were lucky to finish that high, and that De Gea is incredible and our best player since Cristiano.

    Positives:

    Bailly-Lindelof look solid
Luke Shaw - best game, glad he scored.
Pogba-Fred & Pereira - I thought they did a fantastic job, especially Pogba and Pereira.

    Negatives:
Alexis - Can't keep the ball, lost it 23 times. He still looks a liability
Rashford - Looked injured and got muscled out a lot of the time, ineffective.

    - I think the defence-midfield were good tonight but we were let down by the front three: Alexis, Mata and Rashford. They were too poor in the final third. Decision making was always wrong. Alexis needs to improve a lot.

Main thing is getting the three points.

We were in the top 2 positions for pretty much the entire season. That's not luck. Come off it.

Yeah, admittedly the one concern is that we were, and tend to be, quite clumsy on the ball with a good few passes going astray. Hopefully that at least can get better.

The main thing is that we won and got three points on the board especially after our pre-season and transfer saga.
Really pleased for Luke Shaw and thought the reaction of his teammates to his goal was telling. Think he has a real opportunity now and will keep my fingers crossed that he can build on that performance in the next game.
Thought Pogba really tried to step up and take responsibility in the game. Ok, not everything came off but if he keeps that attitude we may see the best of him consistently.
Thought Fred,Pereira, Bailly and Lindelof did well. And De Gea of course.
First half, Mata was everything I hate about seeing him on the flank: slow and constantly drifting towards the ball. In the second half we saw a lot that is good about him.
Second half I thought we did much better. My main issue is why we just went AWOL after going a goal up. We do this all the time. I get that Leicester responded but we were poor for almost the remainder of the half.
Anyway, good result and some encouraging signs. Roll on the next game.

Many players - both past and present - were happy for Shaw scoring his first goal in senior football

Pogba, Bailly, Mata and Shaw all played with their best. Rashford had to be loaned out or something.

Can't believe you set a date during a United game. Fair to say we all know who'll wear the pants in that relationship.

Two argentinian sisters want a threesome with me now that their mom is at their gran's. Told them to wait until next time she's out of their house and there's not a United game...

Today on 'things that never happened'

FFS - Rashford is part of the first team, get used into it, he’s never going out on loan.

Did he even play in any pre-season games? He put himself forward did the team, he’s clearly not up to speed yet.

What a game for individual performances. As a team we didnt play the best, granted we had a number of players not in the first team, but damn we had some great individual performances. Shaw was incredible, Pogba was the player and leader we've always wanted him to be, Pereira looked fecking mint, Fred had a great performance, Bailly looked fit and able, and De Gea has his United save mentality back that seemed to be slightly missing during the World Cup. Really have a lot to look forward to this year. Darmian definitely has to leave, but Sanchez looked so much better once Lukaku came on the field. Really happy with the result but I would have liked the clean sheet. Pogba, Shaw, and Pereira tho:drool:

I want a pic of two girls holding up one paper sign together, saying "Seven Seas Sardines, let's f*ck"
A pic from the whatsapp threesome group the sisters created will have to do for now.
