Sadly yes. He will be sacked before the end of September no doubt about it.Is Peseiro managing Sporting currently ? Interesting.
I know him quite well. He managed the Egyptian club Al Ahly ( which I actually support ) for half a season before fecking off to Porto. He was extremely hated by the fans here for his trash football. When he got appointed riots occurred on Facebook and twitter to get him out. Great days.Sadly yes. He will be sacked before the end of September no doubt about it.
He managed Sporting back in 2004 and tho we got to the final of the UEFA cup and subsequently lost the league on the penultimate game of the season the way we played was sad. His teams can’t defend and sporting look dire on the attacking front. As I said a few posts above we will be out of the title race by the 5th match day because we play Benfica and braga away in the first 5 games. We will get 4th place most likely our squad from the midfield down is pretty bad except for our center backs. I’m dreading this season and it has not even started yet for us.I know him quite well. We were trying to replicate the Manuel Jose experiment with him but he was shite.
Hopefully he fecks off at least at a point when you can still soften the damage. I can't wish Peseiro any good luck tbh.He managed Sporting back in 2004 and tho we got to the final of the UEFA cup and subsequently lost the league on the penultimate game of the season the way we played was sad. We have our presidential election September 8th so I can imagine he will be out the club not too long after.Hopefully he fecks off at least at a point when you can still soften the damage I can't wish Peseiro any good luck tbh.
He is out for 2 months and not only that but quite frankly he is a bang AVERAGE player we have lost 5 key players and have only signed ONE player to the side... absolute joke. Also with Benfica and Porto winning in convincing fashion its all set up for Sporting to lose like the good old days. Lets all laugh about this tomorrow.Someone convince me that loaning Sturaro for a year knowing he’s injured for months and will only start playing by the point of the season where we’ll most likely be out of title contention is a good idea.
Cervi is a interesting player, much better than Acuña who is regularly called to the Argentina NT. He can play in stronger leagues, but not at the real top teams imo. But is a good player.Watching bits of Benfica, 3-0 up with Pizzi hat trick. Cervi is interesting player, pretty skilful. Does he have game to move to top team in one of the bigger leagues? Could be part of the new Argentina era.
Hopefully he just stays there this season. I already said I am not going to watch a team coached by him, but I am against sacking him during the season, it will simply not improve anything. Hopefully the new elected board gets rid of him when the season ends. He is one of the worst managers in the League, probably makes top 5 on that department. Is Peseiro managing Sporting currently ? Interesting.
Who is the current Académica manager? I have been reading a lot of interesting things about the new Estoril coach, only 32 years old, I guess his name is Luis Freire if I am not wrong?Académica just conceded the equalizer in the 94th minute. I feel sick.
Carlos Pinto, the guy who promoted Santa Clara last season.Who is the current Académica manager? I have been reading a lot of interesting things about the new Estoril coach, only 32 years old, I guess his name is Luis Freire if I am not wrong?
I have heard many people say Luis Freire is a very talented coach who will only get better thanks to his young age.Cervi is a interesting player, much better than Acuña who is regularly called to the Argentina NT. I think for most this is hilarious. I know I'm enjoying it.This stopped being funny, even for most of rival fans.
To be fair, it's great news for the tomorrow game. All the players that got contracts under Cintra are ilegal so...Bruno de Carvalho might get his president seat back, after a court's decision.
This stopped being funny, even for most of rival fans. It's just becoming depressing as time goes by. This is like watching Vale e Azevedo on the rival's club.
All I know Is whatever happens the only person fit to be president of Sporting is BDC. In the last 15 years the most competitive Sporting have been has been under BDC reign. The only time Porto and Benfica have been "threatened" by Sporting has been in the last 5 years. Did he cause himself to be removed from presidency? you can very well argue yes but he is still the right man for the job and the only one in my eyes. Varandas, Rodrigues among the other cancers? people seem to be happy with just participating and not challenging, selling players for peanuts , losing to Empolis of thus world. Is he perfect? no but one thing nobody can deny is his love for Sporting and he outs Sporting first over anything. To be fair, it's great news for the tomorrow game. Now, on a more rational thinking, it's sad, or at least i think it is. I don't really know, i see some facebook posts rejoicing with the decision so...
The big 3 have spent decades making decisions that hurt portuguese football as a whole. When one of them has bad results in europe or a bit of an internal meltdowd everyone is supposed to be sad because it's bad for portuguese football? Feck that. Now, on a more rational thinking, it's sad, or at least i think it is.
Well of course not it was bothering Porto and Benfica A LOT that Sporting was catching up to them again and becoming a real threat and for BDC attempting to "Expose" the corruption in Portugal. The big 3 have spent decades making decisions that hurt portuguese football as a whole. Well, not my club. If you think so it's a more important opinion than mine in this matter. All I know Is whatever happens the only person fit to be president of Sporting is BDC. It's sad because it's just a circus that keeps on going and it gets tiring. It's sad how things are run in football, in the law, in the way of thinking. I'm not saying it's sad because of Sporting. I could also say that this meltdown could happen on the other 2 also. The big 3 have spent decades making decisions that hurt portuguese football as a whole. When one of them has bad results in europe or a bit of an internal meltdowd everyone is supposed to be sad because it's bad for portuguese football? Feck that.
I've just heard a guy on SICN saying this is bad for portuguese football. I'm sorry but it's bad for Sporting. I don't like this idea that Sporting/Benfica/Porto are the portuguese football. That was my point.Well of course not it was bothering Porto and Benfica A LOT that Sporting was catching up to them again and becoming a real threat and for BDC attempting to "Expose" the corruption in Portugal.
I agree the way our football is run id damn depressing, but when shit happens to one of the big 3 the media goes on a moralistic "oh this is so bad for our football" rampage. It's sad because it's just a circus that keeps on going and it gets tiring. It's sad how things are run in football, in the law, in the way of thinking. I'm not saying it's sad because of Sporting. I could also say that this meltdown could happen on the other 2 also.

Yes and no because they are the pinnacle of Portuguese football and lets say hypothetically either one of Benfica, Porto, or Sporting were to get relegated it would be very very bad for Portuguese football we are a small league and it would be bad for the league the same way Rangers being relegated was bad for Scotland. Attendences would drop tv viewing as well promotions etc etc. The league would lose even more competitiveness and European ranking would ultimately also drop ( though its already happening now). The big 3 ultimately live off of each other and need each other. In contrast other historical Portuguese clubs like Boavista, Setubel, Academica, VSC, Belenenses or even braga now being relegated would have little to no impact on the league as a whole. Also understand I am not saying these other clubs dont matter I am only saying that Portuguese football does not die without them like it would with the big 3. I respect most of the clubs I just stated.I've just heard a guy on SICN saying this is bad for portuguese football. I'm sorry but it's bad for Sporting. I don't like this idea that Sporting/Benfica/Porto are the portuguese football. That was my point.
Your last paragraph just proves my point.Yes and no because they are the pinnacle of Portuguese football and lets say hypothetically either one of Benfica, Porto, or Sporting were to get relegated it would be very very bad for Portuguese football we are a small league and it would be bad for the league the same way Rangers being relegated was bad for Scotland. You didn't read what I wrote at all. If any of the big 3 are having bad seasons or are doing bad in Europe I never sad other clubs should be sad because like you said it does not affect them.Your last paragraph just proves my point.
The big 3 are the big 3, they are not the portuguese football. Why should Académica fans like me be sad when Sporting or Benfica are in turmoil? Why should we be sad if the big 3 are knocked out in Europe? We gain nothing from your stability or your international success. Nothing, we don't get more money, we don't get better seeding in EL because we rarely/never go there, we don't get extra TV or tickets revenue.
If the big 3 were actually leaders in terms of improving football in our country, then yeah I'd be sad, but you just dry everything and everyone around you. The obsession and selfishness of the big 3 are exactly the problem we have in our football.
Also I think everyone agrees that Braga becoming competitive and building a foundation to catch up and compete with the Big 3 in Portugal is great for Portuguese football. The hope is that they can sustain it in the way Boavista could not. Because if that happens the league becomes better because Braga becomes a force.Your last paragraph just proves my point.

If the big 3 disappeared tomorrow, portuguese football would blossom. Portuguese love football, we LOVE IT, we are crazy about it. If the big 3 disappeared, dozens of clubs would get an immediate influx of fans, the league would be competitive with 5 or 6 teams fighting for the title (and different candidates every year), stadiums would get more people, TV revenue would be distributed more evenly. You didn't read what I wrote at all. If any of the big 3 are having bad seasons or are doing bad in Europe I never sad other clubs should be sad because like you said it does not affect them.
What I said was that IF any of the big 3 or all 3 for that matter hypothetically were to get relegated or got liquidated it would be the end of Portuguese football because whether you like it or not they are what keeps it going. Without the Big 3 clubs like your academica ( with all due respect) would die.
We are the main attraction In the league and the one who brings a majority of the revenue and your attendances go up when we play. As I said we are a SMALL league and if all big 3 seized to exist the league would turn into a semi professional and just the relegation or liquidation of one of them would be horrible for Portuguese football the same can not be said about the other clubs. For example Boavista arguably the 4th biggest club in Portugal in terms of history was in the 3rd and 4th division for years and our league did not suffer from it.
It's just an illusion. Braga won't compete for the title, Braga can't compete in the market and Braga can't do shit in Europe. Sure, 1 in 20 seasons they might get close, but that's about it.Also I think everyone agrees that Braga becoming competitive and building a foundation to catch up and compete with the Big 3 in Portugal is great for Portuguese football. The hope is that they can sustain it in the way Boavista could not. Because if that happens the league becomes better because Braga becomes a force.
I think your delusional we would turn into a semi professional league the stadiums would not get more people. I would be willing to. bet that if Sporting Benfica and Porto dropped to the 4th division they would still get more fans In their stadium then any single club in the Primeira liga.If the big 3 disappeared tomorrow, portuguese football would blossom.
Man it would be amazing.
The more times they get 4th place along with the occasional 3rd and they get into Europe more and more money is going their way along with being smart in the market. Sporting's downfall circa 2009-10 to 12-13 especially was the bases that Braga used to grow bigger with 2 champions league appearances and many europa league and a final. It's just an illusion. Braga won't compete for the title, Braga can't compete in the market and Braga can't do shit in Europe. Sure, 1 in 20 seasons they might get close, but that's about it.
I didn't say they would be relegated, I said they would disappear. Those 10 million fans would just stop watching football?I think your delusional we would turn into a semi professional league the stadiums would not get more people. I would be willing to. bet that if Sporting Benfica and Porto dropped to the 4th division they would still get more fans In their stadium then any single club in the Primeira liga.
People were saying the same things about Boavista in the early 2000's.The more times they get 4th place along with the occasional 3rd and they get into Europe more and more money is going their way along with being smart in the market. Sporting's downfall circa 2009-10 to 12-13 especially was the bases that Braga used to grow bigger with 2 champions league appearances and many europa league and a final.
Like I said IF they could sustain it.People were saying the same things about Boavista in the early 2000's.
The disparity is so huge that I can't see how they possibly can.Like I said IF they could sustain it.
If they disappeared it would be like when the league formed at the start what would happen would be someone would take advantage and invest in a club as would maybe 1 or 2 others and with time what would happen would be their would be a new big 3 or big 2 like in Scotland. For example VSC because of their great stadium and fan base and braga because of how much they have grown.History repeats itself remember that like I said this is not England or Spain we are poor country . It would happen again within time where their would 2 or 3 teams so far ahead of the rest.I didn't say they would be relegated, I said they would disappear. Those 10 million fans would just stop watching football?
So you think that without almost a century of history behind it, fans from Faro, Setúbal, Lisboa and Porto would magically start supporting a team from Braga or Guimarães instead of their own cities? If they disappeared it would be like when the league formed at the start what would happen would be someone would take advantage and invest in a club as would maybe 1 or 2 others and with time what would happen would be their would be a new big 3 or big 2 like in Scotland. Would you start supporting Braga or Guimarães or a team close to where you live?
