Cardinals, Cowboys and Michigan seasons of all or nothing are fantastic. As much as I'd love a behind the curtains look at the prem, I can't bring myself to watch this .

Of course, there is no other evidence that Guardiola is the better coach these days is there? Guardiola is forever criticising his players in public, ‘freezing out’ players, making crass comments about other ‘less important’ members of staff etc, isn’t he? Furthermore, he promotes negative ‘they shall not pass’ football.

Jose was appointed to the job because City had bagged Guardiola. Lots of us had misgivings about him and his style of play and the proof of the pudding is in the eating. Seeing the manager of one of our major rivals display the qualities that would improve our players gives me no pleasure, but I prefer to face the facts rather than bury my head in tribalistic sand.
I've watched eight episodes up until now and I can't remember in which one exactly where Pep said to his team after a bad performance (I think it was after the FA-Cup exit) that he will always defend them in press conferences and lie for them, but will tell them the truth in the locker room. Quite interesting.

Overall, these episodes are not that bad. I mean, yeah, there is propaganda, but if you are interested in how managers work behind-the-scenes and what players do then people should give it a try. I recommend by starting with episode 7 :D

Saw the first episode and thought it was interesting where Pep admits "I'm going to tell you something that's absolutely true: I don't have all the answers. Often when I don't know something, I act in front of the players as if I do. I do it so that they believe I have the answers and that gives them the confidence to play."

Say what you want about how strange and weird he is. Pep gets his players ready to play, and the man is a winner. Can't imagine any of our past 3 managers saying what he said.

I watched 3 episodes so far. Very interesting. I found the reception Sterling got from fellow teammates for scoring a series of late goals that got them out of a pickle very interesting. He was treated like a hero. Things like that probably motivate players a lot! The reaction of injured players was amazing too (Mendy etc).

I've also found it interesting that the assistant coach swore by that the Palace game was going to be tougher than the record number of games they had won. Pep is smart but he also keeps a team of smart people who really know football.

P.S. We saw the infamous Dr. Cugat as well who
had stories to tell about Mendy to KdB. Mendy is quite a character.

I'd rather watch this documentary than watch Manchester United. :(

I’ll judge it for myself.
Loved the NFL ones. I'm a huge Packers fan and would love them to cover Green Bay one season. Been watching the City one with interest and will watch any that they do in the future. I'm Liverpool through and through but I'd watch one about Man Utd as well as I love seeing what goes on behind the scenes at the top level.

Out of interest if Lpool had done the documentary instead of City last season how many would have watched it?
They did one in 2012 it was called Being Liverpool and was pure comedy.

City had an astonishing season! Liverpool one would be easier stomach for rival fans - nay, it would be laughs; they would probably make a nice meal with popcorns and all to watch it!

Same here man. I’d watch one on any major club in world football just because it is interesting to see how things operate.

A Packers one would definitely be a must-see (and I’m a Broncos fan [shock][awe]).

It's nothing but marketing and propaganda from a club trying to manufacture it's own status and relevance in the world. I hope that we don't ever disappear up our own arse like them lot.

Yeah same. I don’t really get the bitterness towards this documentary on here. It’s a good watch for any football fan.

And now the players know he acts.

About 20 mins into the first episode. It's not a documentary obviously, just an extended corporate advert. Lowpoints include Fabiab Delph's obviously low IQ just after de Bruyne's reminded us Kyle Walker is on 200,000 a week, these elite arrogant super wealthy young men having blessed lives in general, and the way it seems City actually dominate Manchester geographically (at least from an aerial viewpoint). Guardiola is a manic outsized dwarf who you feel cannot fail in these current years. The casio keyboard string background music is embarrassing. Everyone else like the owner, Txiki (?) whatshisname and the board and lawyers are smooth vile one percenters who do a lot for charity leaving the only likable individual associated with Man City as Brian Kidd.

It's a United forum (well it's meant to be but know knows these days).

We hate City and your lot. I wouldn't watch this if you paid me.

But you do enter threads about it to say that you wouldn't watch it, which is of course great valuable input.

You follow me about the place like a fly around shit .What's your problem?
Nothing much I just think you're the worst poster on the whole site by a considerable margin. Just put me on ignore if I annoy you that much, problem solved.

Good job your opinion holds zero value and credibility then isn't it?

Agreed, United fan but I thought it was really good and an intresting look at the behind the scenes of a football club. Anyone who likes football should be interested in this documentary. That moment when he does the “you have to learn to play with courage” feck that gets me.

After watching it as well I was left thinking how amazing it would be to have an entire team of trainers, masseuses and sports physios at your disposal after every workout or whatever.

Aah, ok. But that's an odd statement to make and I'd read it as implying that the movie lacks class. He specifically mentioned it in the context of you can make a movie being respectful to others, or something of that sort
I don’t know what that poster is going on about but it’s a reaction to a section of an episode being narrated as attacking football vs Park the bus football. There is a section where there are quite a few bits of shade thrown at the way we play football and that is what Jose is referring to when he says classless.

I'll admit to being interested as I like a good sports documentary. But it City and on a day where they smashed it and we lost at Brighton, I just can't think about it. I'll give it a few weeks but I honestly don't think I can watch City doing so well when we're so piss poor.

I don't understand why anyone would want to watch a behind the scenes documentary following city storming the league.

It's not a 'top red' thing, I just can't wrap my head around how you'd get enjoyment from that.

I've loved the NFL ones so far, but if they did one that followed the Patriots winning the Superbowl I wouldn't watch that shit either.

I would rather sever my own head with a soup spoon then watch a docu about a good Ajax season.

Not because it makes me a bad fan, but mostly because it's not a fun thing to watch?

It's like filming your wife cheating on you and then watching it voluntarily.

Im shite at metaphors, but YOU KNOW

The home dressing room is ROUND. I am absolutely dying to know what shape the visitors is, honestly. Do you think it's still a rectangle / square, to make sure they are maximising every possible advantage.

And everything is that fecking disgusting shade of blue, except for everything else which is maroon. It's an interior design nightmare really.

Not really. Apparently Chelsea was approached first for the doc before they hit up other clubs. It’s just entertainment at the end of the day.

Oh it's plenty about generating a brand image. They're proper homely & are actually based in Manchester. Plucky underdogs compared to United. We've had all that already & I'm only just past halfway of number 2.

Which episode is that section? I’ll probably watch that bit only. (Though after last nights result, I feel like taking a hiatus from watching anything football related!)

Is it me or isn't it obvious Guardiola is some sort of drug?

I mean the guy is constantly tweaking and twitching and even during team talks when he is talking during the mellow parts, he's twitching his foot or leg constantly or doing these weird body movements.

He's always fidgety, talking REALLY fast at times when everyone is normal (like during talks by the board) and rambling like if he's on cocaine or amphetamines or something.

Surely he wasn't like this throughout his entire life?

I've watched the first few episodes. It doesn't matter which team, I'd watch it. It's intriguing. As much as I'd like to see a United one, I wouldn't want the club to do one. Think it's something to keep under wraps (regardless of how you're doing at that moment in time). Unless you'd air it years later.

Anyhow, the wonderful place where I watched this has decided to close shop, so if anyone knows of a river I would very much appreciate a message
