The cameras are in place for all those commemorative DVD's as well. If they hadn't won the league who knows, maybe we would've seen a better standard of documentary. Personally, I doubt it would ever have seen the light of day,
So, you watched it then?

No. I saw enough in the trailers to see it wasn't for me.

My housemate (a Villa fan but he would tongue Pep's balls clean on a sunny July afternoon if he was allowed) watched it and even he said it was unmitigated crap.

I've seen it up to the 3rd and didn't think it's that bad. Bit of a narrative and overdoing the park the bus stuff but that's all. Then again it's not that far from the truth.
The dramatic Darth Vader style music as the camera pans over Old Trafford made me laugh gotta admit.

The Mourinho anti football, Pep beautiful game stuff is driven down the viewers throat a bit. Maybe in part because United refused City cameras at the game?

And how many Mourinho documentaries have you watched to compare?

Pack it in and enjoy a City Lover tag. Jesus wept.
You don’t have to watch a documentary to make the judgement that Guardiola is a better coach these days than Jose. As I said, the documentary showed how ‘hands on’ and obsessed with perfection he is, which is what we need right now to get the best out of our superstars. The handwringing on this thread from some of our fans is probably what City fans were like when we were in our pomp. It plays into their hands, just like Jose’s comments do. It’s a football documentary, that is all, and to get all emotional about people watching it smacks of us being as ‘small time’ as we suggest City are. What actually concerns me was that Amazon were interested in making it about City rather than us.

'You dont have to watch a documentary to see it. In the documentary blah blah blah.'

Again, how do you know that Jose isn't hands on in the same way? Or do you just swallow the propaganda as it's intended?

I watched one episode and that was the one where they lost to us. It was pretty satisfying reliving that.

Watched the first one & loved it. But then, I would do wouldn't I? ;-)

I'm actually with the posters on here who say they wouldn't watch a second of it. Why on earth would you want to watch something about a rival team, particularly when you know that it's basically going to be a celebration of an incredible season? Weird!

I wouldn't watch something about Utd, and I don't think it's bitter or petty to say so.

i close my eyes and use a guide dog when walking the streets just in case someone is wearing a blue shirt. if you willingly subject yourself to people you dont agree with then you should be banned from redcafe and have your supporters membership revoked.

Hold on, supposedly hardcore United fans on here are actually considering watching this? And @Reddy Rederson being interested in watching a Liverpool version is outrageous! Immediate ban please mods kidding
You did read the part where I said actual doc and not a puff piece, right? I don’t see any reason why not to watch something for informational purposes. Watching propaganda, no thanks.

This is the context you left out when you quoted me above:
It's the commemorative DVD that every side who wins the league releases, only City have paid for theirs to be released on Amazon and to be called a "sports documentary".
You posted a screenshot of documentaries featuring the All Blacks and 5 American sides from other sports.

its not the commemorative dvd. as has been pointed out several times, amazon doesnt know the result of the season when they start filming. they filmed michigan last year is a disastrous season. you dont actually know what you are talking about.

You basically have no clue what you're on about and what they mean, you're digging yourself further into a pit of idiocy, just quit.

Because Amazon got paid to do it, rather than the other way round.
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...occer-documentary-aims-to-woo-new-subscribers

Bloomberg reported earlier than Amazon paid about 10 million pounds for the exclusive access to the club and its staff.

Can't believe a try hard toppest red just says things that are factually wrong.

This is a good thread, it gives the mods an easy to-ban list from people admitting to watching it.
A cry for help, self loathing, self harm.
Should be in the trash forum.
It's going to be getting tons of views from the plastics supporting United anyway so Jose's comments might not make too big a difference.

everyone come gather around and see that no one can question schmiznurfs top red qualities

It's one hundred percent a commemorative DVD, commissioned by City to try and improve their image and support base by piggybacking off a well known documentary maker. That footage would have been binned in a heartbeat had City failed to win the league last year.

All or Nothing have a history of making documentaries about sides with huge fan bases and history but you think of all the football clubs in the world, they decided to approach City, a side who finished third in the league a season before and who have around 700 fans on a good day, out of the goodness of their hearts or because they were visionary footballing prophets?

I believe Amazon paid City $10mil for this in the same way I believe Etihad paid them £400mil to name their stadium.

Yes, well done. I'm devestated by your ability to draw conclusions from watching a documentary.
Of course, there is no other evidence that Guardiola is the better coach these days is there? Guardiola is forever criticising his players in public, ‘freezing out’ players, making crass comments about other ‘less important’ members of staff etc, isn’t he? Furthermore, he promotes negative ‘they shall not pass’ football.

Jose was appointed to the job because City had bagged Guardiola. Lots of us had misgivings about him and his style of play and the proof of the pudding is in the eating. Seeing the manager of one of our major rivals display the qualities that would improve our players gives me no pleasure, but I prefer to face the facts rather than bury my head in tribalistic sand.

I feel fine thanks.

My point is that Michigan didn't pay for their documentary. I reckon City did in the same way they pay for their footballing revolutionaries PR campaign. Fair play - it's obviously working for them. I just don't have to buy into it.

Who willingly sits and watches an 8-hour Abu-Dhabi approved fluff piece about City being apparently the bestest football team ever to play the game?

"I watched it as a true fan of the sport" get to feck. I'd rather wedge a rusty screwdriver up my dickhole than willingly be forcefed 8 hours of City propaganda.
Just watch episode 7. That’s what I did.

You are right.

But this is propaganda and isn't it fitting that one monopolist should team up with another potential monopolist?
I agree with that, and Id happily watch docs about other teams. This is on the other hand is a state sponsored fluff piece. Its PR for the abu dhabi owned city group that has went to great lengths to make itself look legit. Mansour is the face, but hes not the real man in charge, that would be the crown prince. They hired a PR guy from a company that specialised in PR for some of the most evil corporations around today. Why would a football team need the same PR tactics as blackwater? In the end this series might have some value to it, but sitting through city group propaganda isnt my idea of a good time. The fact its city has very little to do with it, I wont watch anything that has cringe worthy propaganda. If united did something similar I wouldnt watch that either.

The trailer and that weird "we won the league" video thing where they CGId in the crowd was more than enough for me. I fear if I watch anymore my eyes might roll back and never come back out.

Id have loved to see a doc on Leicesters winning season. That would have been something of great interest. Watching a state funded football franchise buy its way to a winning season? Meh, no interest.
Yeah, if I was going to watch it, I'd have a fair assumption that, that it is exactly what you both say. This was more aimed at posters having an irrational problem with a Utd supporter watching it and questioning their loyalties because of that.

The reasons they've done it is pretty obvious. I don't think whether you watch it or not defines one's toptastic-ness as a Utd supporter. It should be a free choice imo.

There wasn't this fuss / accusations about 'Being: Liverpool' when some folks were watching that.

You're better placed to take the piss if you've seen it - although the risk is that ours was / would be (perceived) the same.

Dunno what the fuss is, watch it if you want, don't bother if you don't want to.
