I cannot fathom why he would stay unless we are offering a +25% premium in wages than anyone else.
Considering he already earns 25% more than any other goalkeeper in the world and his salary increase is likely to be another 25% again, this is exactly why he's likely to stay.

I don't believe there is any other club in world football that would pay a goalkeeper £250k+ a week.

Of course he’s going to stay. Where else is there to go that’s a step up in club quality. We just need to start matching his ambitions. We’re lucky Real got Courtios.
Juve and PSG could both do with a keeper in the next year or two and would be a massive step up in quality. Would win the domestic league every year at either club and challenge for the CL.

Like pogba, rashford and martial?
For a 25 man squad, with 5yr contract lengths, you would expect an average of 5 contracts (new or renewal) per year i.e. 10 in 2yrs. If you renew sooner i.e. 3-4 yrs between renewals, the average would go up to 6-7 per year

There are 15 contracts ending in the next 2 summers, 6 of them are 30+. Exclude those older players, and you are down to 9 contracts for renewal which is normal for a stable squad.

Keep your Jose obsession out of your replies to me in future. It kills discussion and is a cancer to this forum.
Thank you.
I even think David is staying at Utd so how does that play into your strawman rant?
Well there was speculation about his future about him not agreeing a new deal hence all the shit you started posting. Now that it looks like he's going to stay and isn't feuding with your master of course you'll love him once again

Step up in quality but crap league. Don’t think anyone would care if DeGea went to Paris and kept winning the league every year. Abit like Neymar now.

As good as Juventus are there league is also a step down from the Prem. Basically unless he’s going to Bayern or Real. He ain’t going nowhere without him just conceeding United will continue to be shit for years.

Why would he want to stay?
Because he's on colossal money, playing for one of the world's giant clubs, is adored by fans and appreciated in general in England (compare his rep in Spain for instance), and it seems his partner is now happy here.

This isn't one of those why do Tottenham players keep signing on type situations.

I do think his form for Spain and the way their media treats him plays a part, at least in him not rushing back to Spain. He's adored here, I doubt whenever he goes, he'll be appreciated like he is here.

We don't deserve Dave, but we'll take him!

He really is one of the last few loyal footballers who actually cares about the fans. Mad that he's not even a local lad too but he cares about the team more than anyone else in the squad I suspect.

It's like you've been laid off from work, haven't been arsed to even look for work for the last 12 months after showing up for a few interviews in sweat pants and unshaven whilst your model girlfriend has been raking in six figures, is absolutely stunning and cooks, cleans, takes you on great vacations and to fancy restaurants and showers you with affection.

That's Dave to us really.

De gea's twitter mentions are full of things like ' sign da ting dave', 'don't leave dave',' we don't deserve him',' 'only one worth watching in the team' etc.

His performances for us must certainly infuriate the spanish.

For me, he is the only one that deserves a pass if he has a bad game.

From Oct 1st: https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/foot...de-gea-moves-in-pop-star-girlfriend-together/

Spanish popstar Edurne Garcia, 32, has reportedly decided to move to Manchester full-time to be closer to De Gea.

Despite being together since 2010, the pair had lived separately with Garcia staying in Spain to work with De Gea in England.

The singer and actress revealed the decision was influenced by De Gea's proposed move from Manchester United to Real Madrid breaking down in 2015.

Garcia famously said Manchester was "uglier than the back of a fridge" in 2015.

But on her move to England, she said: "I have moved there. I will come (back to Spain) to work. In the end he could not come here (to Spain). So I'm going there, no problems."

I got to pay more attention to our players private lives, although I didn't see this relationship lasting.

We had that option, probably means we couldn't agree the long contract. Not exactly good news this if true.
Wasn't a serious comment, we were always going exercise the extension. It's largely irrelevant news because if we hadn't signed him up at this point, means we have another 6 months of space to do so.

It's actually a bad sign, means we can't find an agreement. We done this with Martial an it's only an option to ensure we can sell before they walk. Shit news if true, you can't take this as a positive sign. I think he'll go if this is activated. The board will try and cash in like the clowns they are.

Yeah we know we can't find an agreement because one hasn't been announced yet. I don't think you can take it as a sign either way.

Steady on. We still have a 18 months to agree a new contract.

No one would, but we will because we have the world’s best.

Is this a good thing? I took it as, oh your not signing. Let’s trigger the clause before January.

It isn't a sign of anything.
