I'll still watch all our games but the results don't really bother me like they used to. I expect a bad result going into a lot of games so I'm never really disappointed when we do end up messing up. The small bit of United I still enjoy is the U18s/U19s, quick, decisive football and widely considered one of the best teams in the country. Last night I found myself paying more attention to the Apprentice than the football. Thing is there's no end in sight and we just keep getting worse, pretty miserable time at the moment.

Our standards have slipped to mid-table fodder. Our football has slipped to Sunday league level.

Any wonder the theatre of dreams turning into theatre of nightmares.

Fast slipping into sleeping giant terrority.

Club has lost its glamour and mojo. Might take 10 years to get us back where we were.

Difficult to stomach. Only those with long memories likely to stick by the club.

The posts here don’t surprise me one bit. The club has to be very careful where it goes from here.

The anger stage is a killer. I have thankfully recently moved from the anger stage where results and performances would ruin my day...and those around me!! I’m now at apathy. If we concede meh, if we score meh, if we win meh. Just numb to it all
Point of apathy is a good way of describing where we are now.

With the exception of the now I famous 3 game run under LvG in his first season and Mourinho's first season, in which there were positive signs in comparison to the shit that was there previous, I'm purely watching out of duty, without my hopes going up.

Even if somehow we get a manager in and he turns this team around and he even gets Paul Pogba playing like the player he's claimed to be on here, you just know there'll be a f**k up coming from the board.

Anyways, football is nearly dead.
Liverpool FC, actively encouraging betting with their sponser on their twitter page, City becoming everything they claimed to hate, dominating with no soul and no ethics and we're just as guilty in a lot of aspects.

Yes, I hear you, I'm getting the same, I watch every game if I can even the 3 o'clock ones find it somewhere, but the Fulham game I didn't bother to look, just looked for score. Last night's game I was looking forward to, hoping no pressure just play!
Oh was I wrong, I got to say were in deep deep shit, poor quality in depth, if we get beaten bad on Sunday which I think we will is that the end of Jose and some players? But I will punish myself and watch .

A few bad years and people are calling it quits (and not that bad when you really think about it)? What would some of you do if we were Sunderland or Pompey down in League 1?
It’s not as simple as that. Turning the argument around, if Sunderland or Pompey were perennial winners for 20+ years and all of a sudden started tanking for 6 years, players not trying, manager a narcissistic ass who clearly puts himself above the club, management inept, you think all those fans would not utter a word and say “we demand better”?

I watch when I have time and there's nothing better on. I won't make time for a game though.

I still watch every match apart from extreme circumstances - always have the hope that we improve and turn things around

I mean nevermind just watching on TV (although worth noting that being able to watch every game on TV/stream is a relatively recent phenomena for most) - there are still those who travel to watch everymatch live home and away

I actually think our entertainment value was worse last year than this season but obviously results were better

Those who stopped watching are clearly just a bunch of spoilt glory fans!

I watch matches but find myself less invested in them. More likely to get distracted by my mobile as long passages of boring play go on.
So the entire game then?

I think I spend 75 minutes on my phone and 15 minutes watching

I am not watching United games for 2 months now, and I am glad I did. This is after 17 years of not missing a game.

And no, I am not a Glory Hunter, I do not wish for constant trophies, I just wish that I don't get depressed af after watching every game of my club, that is all I ask, and until that is possible, I am done with Jose and the crap that surrounds him.

I would watch United even if they finished mid table every year, I just want this portuguese poison out of the club.

I have a tradition with a Liverpool supporting mate for every United - LFC game that we get together to watch. Even the 1-4 at OT whilst embarassing I had a laugh.

feck that this year, I'd rather burn my house down.

Sadly it is getting this way. I normally watch all the games, the build up, the post match etc. What with Mourinho's surly behaviour and self justification not to mention the doom and gloom in general I stopped the pre and post match.

Last night I had to turn the game off it was truly dire. A dead rubber game and we are playing with, an albeit imbalanced, a five man defence and a midfield/forward line with no direction or drive. The players have to take some blame but ultimately the tactics are at fault. But maybe I'm a masochist cos I'll be watching again come Sunday.

I think it must be something to do with my age, but I've always watched and wanted to watch United, through 'thick and thin'.

If you think this lot is boring, you should have watched Dave Sexton's team, like watching paint dry. I admit it is more enjoyable when we are winning and playing well, but I do get a level of enjoyment even with the poor games, shouting and pulling my hair out, all part of the spectacle (as I've got older have to have done less of the hair pulling though!).

I now only live ten miles outside Manchester and for the most part able to watch live matches at OT. I am a a season ticket holder and previously a league match ticket book holder and before that a regular in the Old Trafford Paddock. I worked abroad for a while and had to search at times to find places where they were showing English football, but I hardly missed any games.
Watching United in poor games can be good for the soul, it makes you appreciate the better games more. The only thing that annoys me is when players are not really trying and unfortunately there were certain elements like that last night in Valencia.

I still find myself waking up in the mornings to watch the games. My eyes are watching but my soul is still sleeping usually.

This is Mourinho’s biggest crime of all. There is a growing apathy with this club that is preventing fans protesting and taking action.

I haven't watched the past few.

It's not even about the quality of our football. José's turned the club into a cesspool full of blame and finger pointing. I read his comments after Valencia and it was just full of unnecessary rubbish. I can't be bothered with him anymore.

I'm still hoping to go up to Old Trafford with my dad again soon, but that's more about spending time with him and reliving old memories of going to the ground together rather than actually looking forward to the football.

It is not about boring, I've watched every game while LVG was in charge when one would argue was much more boring to watch, but I still waited before every game with same motivation, this crap with Jose isn't just "boring", it is dead, poisonous, soulless...

I'm still watching our games but its largely out of a self imposed compulsion and the interest level is at an all time low. Actually being genuinely excited for our matches is something that just does not happen.

Essentially I'm waiting for a change and enduring our football till that happens.

This season for me is actually about Liverpool not winning rather than our fortunes, which is rather depressing.

Haven't watched the last 3 or 4 games. I'm done until Mourinho is gone. We're just too boring and half the players (and probably Mourinho himself) dont give a feck, so seems silly to care myself.

I missed a few games towards the end of LVG and went to watch my local 3rd division Spanish lot.

I'm still sticking it out at the moment. The LVG games were the first time I'd missed a game that I could watch for donkey's years.

Thinking about it, this wouldn't be the first time I've stopped watching games. There's been a few seasons before where I just lost interest. This included some title-winning seasons, with Fergie in charge. I always kept an eye on results but the need to devote 90-180 minutes each week to watching football has waxed and waned over the years. This does feel unusual in that the interest in the team seems as intense as ever and it's just the process of watching that I can't be bothered with. Ho hum. I guess we all have different relationships with the club and with football in general. I would argue it's healthy to be able to disengage once in a while (says he with nearly 100k posts on this website!) so maybe no harm if this shit show means some of us divert time and energy into other areas of our life instead?

I've still tuned into all games this season.

But I am very tired of scheduling days around a United game only to watch us serve up another shit performance. Last night I wish I'd watched the Ajax - Munich game instead.

I'm going to stop doing so. If theres a more interesting game on, I'll watch that instead. If I happen to be free and not be behind with Med School, I'll watch a game. I'll probably spend the majority of the time on my phone. But I'll watch.

Otherwise my engagement with United is set to drop until the miserable one is sacked.

I tuned in yesterday night but hard to pay any sort of attention as it's soul crushing watching the team at the moment.

I have stopped watching the games as I always did. Now I watch them or miss them but I'm not mad if I miss them.
Yesterday it was the first time I switched the game off on my XB1 and watched it on my tablet, just so I can play FIFA in the meantime

I watch matches now but do other stuff like doing office work or cleaning up the flat. Not important enough to concentrate all my time on the match.

We've had a few threads like this and despite it being draining to watch I will always watch us barring extreme circumstance, I still plan my weekends around the football but kind of have to with a season ticket. One of my mates is a Wolves fan and when I complain about our situation to him he tells me to listen to myself talking about crisis, he's witnesses 2 relegations and asked me if I had experienced a season like that. Puts things into perspective.

I guess all that would be needed to lift the mood is the give some of the youngsters a chance and play attractive football, and even if we don't get the results then at least it would be fun to watch.

Anyone who ever wanted Jose, look at what you have done to our club. Disgraceful.

And of course I still watch every game. Any fan should support no matter what.

The 1978/79 season, when we finished 9th, wasn't great but we had a good cup run. In 1980, we finished just two points behind the champions, Liverpool and if we hadn't thrown away points at Forest and at Leeds on the last day of the season, Sexton might have won the title. Goals were the biggest problem. Jordan was our top scorer with 13 goals in all. Sexton brought in Birtles the next season to remedy that but we all know what happened there.

I’d never stop watching through choice, but I did miss last nights game and only checked results this morning.
That’s not great.

Really worried about watching vs Liverpool. Might be painful.

I usually never missed a game, nothing could stop me. Now it's more like "ohh it's a game tomorrow... if I remember I might watch it"
