What does it mean? It's a football club like any other. Dominated a decade ago when the competition was different to today. Club still rich and makes money etc
Not trying to disparage anything, it just sounds unnecessarily grandiose is all. Normal ebbs and flows to every club.
This club has always been about attacking football from the days of Matt Busby, that the paying customer should always be entertained. It was a football club, a working mans club. Now it is a clickbait, cash cow monstrosity.

C’mon lad. Fergie was happy to play a DM on the wing in the CL final and built his best sides on a great defence as much as an attack. The top scoring seasons in PL history are not really dominated by United. Main difference between Fergie and Mourinho in that regard is whilst both were pragmatic first and foremost, Ferguson would tell the fans what they want to hear, whilst Mourinho doesn’t value it.

It just wasn't good enough. You can leave the likes of Pogba, Martial and Fred on the bench, but you have to create opportunities to actually win the game. The best we could have hoped for with the way set up was a draw and even that would have been very kind. The number of the corners for Liverpool went up and up, couldn't believe seeing something like 10:0.

There were huge amout of spaces between the centre backs and the midfielders, there was little chance that we could win the second balls, must have been very frustrating for Bailly, De Gea and others.

I for one wouldn't attack the usual victims such as Lukaku or Matic, for me they weren't the problem. Something is very wrong atm. Why can't Mourinho get the team playing, what exactly is the problem with Pogba and Fred? Why is there no cohesion whatsoever in our play?

I respect Mourinho for what he's done in the game, but he has to question himself, must arrange a massive sit down with the potential star players and have a proper go for the rest of the season. Mourinho can't complain if it were to be curtains tomorrow, it's been piss poor so far, the last weeks have been so underwhelming.

Says more than 1000 words really.

When it takes a quarter of a century to build an empire, but it takes a quarter of that time to rip it down!

What power could he have as a director to go to the board and put forward the notion to remove José?
What’s he going to say? Whatever happened to the last fool who had United in such a state at this time in the season?

I haven't see the match but 36-6 states clear domination. 3-1.

As a defence team already conceded 29 goals (5th worse defence in the league/1.7 goals per game).

Has anybody seen an attack-move which was trained?

I've been a United supporter since 68 and I've rarely seen a United team that is so Godawful as this one.So uninspired and uninspiring. We did field some pretty inept teams in the early 70s and late 80s but I am honestly struggling to remember one as bad as this lot.The crazy thing is that this side or should I say squad are one of the most expensive and well paid in the world! Same goes for the manager.Even at the height of his powers Mourinho was not a good fit for this club
You can't win them all and you can't entertain all the time but this club should never be about fear and playing with fear.
Disgusted.

A point scoring, dick swinging competition between Mourinho and Pogba

Ultimately, we're the ones who lose, not them!

Pretty bad and cowardly performance overall
We play better without Pogba. Is that Pogba's part of the dick swinging, to look incompetent?

Done better than expected.
Got battered today. I mean properly battered.
Hey, it should have been worse. The score flatters us.
It was men against boys out there today and oddly enough I am not even that upset, I expected a much worse scoreline. The camera panned up a few times towards ed and Sir bobby and if they are ok with what they are seeing on the pitch then there is nothing I'd ever be able to say or do that will make a difference.

Shame on the board who have the power to make changes and they sit by and look on and do nothing while the club sinks into mediocrity.

I think it is clear to all that Pogba does not give a fig for the club his manager or the fans all he cares about is self publicising and picking up his obscene wages whilst putting in as little effort as possible
I think scumbag is being kind
You must be drunk. He didn't even play.

United should never go anywhere and be a punching bag. That's what they were at Anfield. Alisson was unlucky but credit to Lingard for being positive. Young needs to put his body in the way of the shot from Shaqiri for number 2. If he does chances are Shaqiri doesn't score. Bailly couldn't be blamed for Shaqiri's second Liverpool's third.
Players are a manager's tools to get his job done. Puzzled as to why Pogba and Martial were benched. This is arguably United's biggest fixture along with maybe a Manc derby. How do you pay 89m for a player and not start if fit. It smacks of power struggle and it affects the team. Why is Fellaini getting in ahead of Fred who cost 50m. United had no midfield in this game.
I feel Mourinho is down a cul de sac and doesn't know how to reverse the decline. Players a manager signs and sells tend to dictate how their time at a club goes. United to my mind need a root and branch reform. They have had three managers all well thought of in the game and 1/2 billion spent no nearer to winning the league.

5 goals and 4 assists, he's the third highest contributor to goals this season.

But yeah he's been shit.

How was he unlucky? It was a simple catch and he made an absolute howler of it.

SAF also played anti-football at Anfield and lost, more than once.

I wouldn't look much into this result and I know Woodward won't either.
SAF is not anti football. SAF played counter attacking football in the big games. We had no intent of winning the game today. Mourinho is anti football

More shots on goal than any of our players, most involvements in goals of our midfielders this season and saved Mourinhos job with Martial and Mata against Newcastle. But he's been garbage , carry on

Did anyone else have the feeling that the initial eleven players (that means Smalling, not Bailly) that Jose named were the players who still believe in him/or who he could trust... unfortunately they were just not good enough!

Surely for Jose now, if that was the case, then the writings on the wall?

He has to go, tonight preferably. I don’t care who takes over, just get us playing in the opposition half again. Please!

I will admit I've now had a few drinks, but I'm seething. That was disgusting and we are shambles, whilst the scousers are serious contenders for the league. It's a mess.

Just watched the post match presser.

No chance he is sacked on the back of this result. None whatsoever. Did not have the air of a man about to be sacked imo.

Plus, whatever we say about the tactical approach I thought he was dead right when he said the players gave him 100% effort.

The season will play out & a decision made if/when certain objectives are out of reach and with no real obvious stand out candidate, that also gives the club some thinking time.

Another embarrassing performance. Hoofball at its finest that deserves to be left at Stoke. Long balls for Lukaku to fail to knock down to zero support. Thinking this tactic can be successful is crazy and it's becoming more likely that Jose is purposely wanting poor performances to make a crazy statement.

A quote, " At United we strive for perfection and if we fail, then we might just have to settle for excellence. "

Those were the words and aims of Sir Matt.

It's a long time since the club honoured that quote.

I initially thought Mou was our best option when appointed, but hes failed miserably in same time, compared to other managers with less spend. Time to get rid, we cant waste anymore time, were already miles behind the rest

That was awful, lucky it was only 3-1 they battered us everywhere. There is no structure what so ever in the team, it looked like Liverpool were going to score every time they attacked in the first half an hour today, all that prevented it was some poor finishing and last ditch blocks, we were defending as individuals and not as a unit which is the most frightening thing as that's what Jose's main attribute is! He's taking this as far as he can now...

We are plodding along and just going through the motions right from the board, to the players, to the manager. It's been 6 years since our last title, which will quickly become 10, which Will quickly become 15 if we keep going like this. We need someone with balls to make big decisions now.

A complete rebuild is needed. We need a director of football (Luis Campos). We need a new manager (genuinely haven't a clue, massive risk whoever it is) and we need to get some players in that can can lead and graft and have balls. Lukaku, Pogba, Matic are all good footballers but they're just not suited to us now in the situation we're in.

We all know what's going to happen though. We'l keep Mourinho until the end of the season, appoint a new manager, Ed will still be in charge of transfers, buy more marquee signings to sell shirts and get fans back on board again, give them 300 grand a week, they won't be what we actually need on the pitch though, and it will all fall apart again. And 15 years will be upon us before we know it.

Saved Jose’s job against a crap Newcastle team ! Are you honestly being serious ?
More shots on goal than any other player !!! Are our standards that low
HE COST 90 MILLION QUID !
More involvement in goals than our other midfielders what those assist specialists Matic and Herrera .
Are you honestly trying to defend Pogba ?
Sack Jose by all means but making a case for Pogba being a success is like a fairy story

Jose get out of this club.

Today was absolutely shambolic. Our level of football was worst than a school boy team & we’re light years away from the football pool are playing. There is no connect when they play, players struggling to think their next pass or string a pass. Defence all over the place & at times it’s panic stations. There is just no cohesion in our play & the blame must be on Jose & his team. What kind of training to they do.

Why play Matic who along with Lukaku have been abysmal all season, the latter unbelievable in how shockingly bad of a football player he’s become. The changes were made soo late that the game was merely beyond us. Lingard & rashford could only do soo much as everyone else were too busy bleedin defending. Thought Bailly had a great game but overall the was a joke & a complete disaster.

Obviously they thoroughly deserved the win but in reality we have bigger problems to worry about than the result even though it hurts. We’re a ship that’s sinking badly & if the stupid board & Woodward use their brains that’s gods given them then they’d realise this is doing more harm than good to keep persisting with Jose.
