We’ve done the smash and grab at Anfield under SAF too and was thinking at 1-1 that we’d see a repeat of that today.
The gulf in class was huge and sad to see. One of the studio guys at halftime said we looked divisions off, not just league places.

Subs won the game. Shaqiri and Henderson are good squad players. Also Shaqiri is good enough to be in any first team, but he's a bench player for Liverpool. Strength and depth in midfield.
Mourinho had fecking Pogba on the bench, you know the worlds most expensive midfielder.

The difference is one manager goes for the win all game and the other tries to not concede even if it means playing with 7 defensive players and mostly 11 players in the box.

Fecking disgrace. This is not how Manchester United is supposed to play, we are NOT a midtable club!

You must be drunk. He didn't even play.
Hilarious! Surely that guy isn't real! Also another guy saying we play better without Pogba? Bloody hell, where do these guys find this material? Has Jose hired them to come and further his PR agenda? Anyone who has watched us since Paul joined will know we absolutely DO NOT play better without him and he has, at worst, been one of our top 3 players this season. He hasn't been as good as he can be, but who has?

Pogba is definitely held to a different standard. Martial was getting the same treatment from our "fans" when he was Jose's target of choice until he became the only guy that actually scores goals for us.

SAF also played anti-football at Anfield and lost, more than once.

I wouldn't look much into this result and I know Woodward won't either.
SAF played anti-football more than once, but in the grand scheme of things we didn't and we were extremely succesfull.

In Mourinho's grand scheme of things at United, this is how we play.

There's a vast difference between an isolated event and a clear pattern.

I don't understand how the hell coach like Mourinho who won everything, can make that many mistakes in selection.
Parking a bus in penalty box will end with a goal. Sooner or later.
Akso playing in midfield without creative players is suicide. If you are playing with two dmc then put Mata or Pogba on that no10 position. Put player who knows everything with the ball. Not another hard working player like Lingard.

The worst thing is I no longer care about the results. I'm just going through the motions, like most of the team is.

I could not imagine that the result would be a draw for seventy minutes, unfair indeed, but I can live with that. So far we managed better than I expected.

Then it went as I had thought from the beginning, we lost. Too bad, but I did not expect anything else so it does not make me upset. I will be for other reasons.

In view of the ball possession, the amount of shot against goal and the constant pressure they faced, the defense made a decent job, except for Young who was asleep at their first goal.

Both Bailly and Lindelof did better than I had dared to hope for with the bad conditions they had. That was probably the only positive thing I could find, except DDG of course.

Our closing down is pathetic. No wonder they had 36 attempts on goal, they were strolling into shooting range and had so much space to get shots away and pick little threaded passes inside the area.

Only Rashford had any real intent to get at Liverpool but one man can’t do it on his own and he was surrounded by utter dross out there today.

Best team won, it was embarrassing from us.

“According to a Portuguese newspaper someone said that a player like me (37 years) is at the end of his career. Completely agree! My question is, for that newspaper: in the case of coaches, when and at what point do you see that they are no longer to lead a team or train?” - Casillas

Once again we got lucky to have scored a goal. Mou can't keep getting away with lucky goals!

Should have gone in pre season, needs to go now. Pointless in waiting till it’s to late to salvage something from the season

Don't know if it's ok to ask this but I was wondering if anyone had a link to the Sky Sports post match analysis of the game?

He surely has to be sacked. That's the worst United performance I've ever seen.

What would be a decent season from this point? A good run in FA cup or semis in CL. Or maybe fourth place?

Shaken, and very stirred......
Interesting shot during the match of Woodward, face like thunder, shaking his head, leaning into Bobby Charlton while covering his mouth and saying something to him.....would love to know what it was....

I have no idea how you go into a game with midfielders who can't create chances. I'd love to know how many goals have been assisted by Matic and Herrera at United. I'm sure they will be paltry. Then you bring on Fellaini who is also inept who specialises with 5-yard safe passing.

It's not just Pogba who's being dishonest or cheating the fans. Mourinho with his team selection is more guilty.
He's pretty shite at that as well.

Agree with your post overall.

The sad sights of Sir Bobby, Sir Alex and David Gill in the stands today. How I wish we had them still.

Can we just get Woodward, Jose and the entire mgmt team to feck off already?

For some reason this reminds me of Arsenal fan TV, specially part about certain sections of fans or some being aggressive towards this channel (if true) and few other things he mentioned.

It seems its not only in football, when you make critical observation, those type of people come out mark you as moaner, toxic, negative, drama queen etc.

A quote, " At United we strive for perfection and if we fail, then we might just have to settle for excellence. "

Those were the words and aims of Sir Matt.

It's a long time since the club honoured that quote.
We need some who knows the club who supports it who cares for it someone who knows how to motive those cnuts and to fill their heads of quotes like these instead of dancing on social fecking media.

Shocking that Mourinho is still in the job. Wonder what more depths of despair we will have to see before this toxic virus is kicked out of our Club.

I’m really tired of seeing Matic and Fellaini in our midfield. They offer very little protection to the back four and nothing going forwards. Can we just stick with three of Herrera, Pereira, Fred and Pogba if we are playing 4-3-3 and see how they get on?

Similarly, I’d like to see us only rotate the back 4 and forwards when necessary due to injury (which is frequent enough anyway!). I don’t really care which centre backs we play but Jose just needs to choose two of them and don’t drop one each time they have one poor match or randomly switch to three at the back for no real reason. Upfront, I’d like Lukaku removed semi-permanently from the first 11 and ensure Martial/Rashford play every match they are fit for.

There will be a documentary made / book written about our fall. The sporting equivalent of 'The Looming Tower'.

It was just obvious Liverpool was going to win. Even when we got back to 1-1 there was always going to be one winner.

I know that writing post-disappointing match colors the judgement but it really is hard to reconcile Jose's record as a manager over the years with our current situation. I was willing to accept him as long as he had us winning and seemed to be improving the squad, after all, he is the manager that seems to have truly done it all. But I cannot fathom the current side and the way we play. No disrespect to anyone intended but a back four that relies on Ashley Young in 2018, yes, that same Ashley Young you remember as as the winger at Villa, and a midfield that seems to consider Fellaini key is hardly a team to inspire confidence.

I can no longer fathom what Jose is doing or claims he is doing. We are inflexible, slow, and toothless. I know Jose can't be imagining 'this is the dream team I'm building at United' so what is happening? He won't explain himself, the club won't indicate anything other than 'all ok here' so I'm left to scratch my head and wonder what is the root of this problem. I know people post pics of Fergie fuming today but I swear, at one point the camera caught him and Gill smiling and laughing at something, to all the world at about the same time as Lukaku demonstrated his usual deft first touch. Maybe they all know Jose is just toying with us, he intends to get serious soon and we'll buy some real players. Or maybe they think it's done...time for a new guy. If there's a plan here, will someone please share it?

Missing CL and finishing mid table will definitely has an impact on financial. I don’t see how we can improve and balance the books without a sugar daddy. Only way is to find a manager that can develop young player. We will be looking for at least 5-7 years before we can compete again. Hope Glazer can sell the club to a owner who is willing to invest.

That's a decent core for a new manager to start from. Hopefully Sanchez goes soon given he's on the decline but all in all its a pretty good squad that while would need revamping/improvement for the new man, there's a lot to work with.

I remember when LVG came in and most agreed he will stop the big ego's and bring them down to earth which he did do. Mourinho is a fecking disaster, we signed him to rebuild our club but instead he's doing a demolision job. Against the scouser's we set up to lose from the start so can't complain when we get schooled.

With Mourinho it's a question of when not if. CL football is a pipe dream. We aren't catching two teams we are 8 and 11 points behind the way we are currently playing. Even if arsenal fall away, I don't see Chelsea and Spurs doing so.

Either it happens now, or close to/at the end of the season. But it's clear as day that Mourinho's tenure is coming to a miserables end.
