Gus Hiddink would be my choice. Second option Zidane and third option Ancelotti. None will happen though...

Diego Simeone is by a mile the best candidate if he wants the job then it should be his. But whoever get's the job they are going to need a lot of money to vastly rebuild the squad.

Didn't Jardim just join a Saudi club or something?

I'll be happy with Pochettino as my first choice, Zidane as second choice.
Would be somewhat excited by Howe or Favre.

I’d want Pocchetino but as much as it pains me to admit it, @GlastonSpur comments about him in relation to the hot seat here are on the money. I don’t think he’s a realistic candidate and to be honest I like that, he seems like he’s got a plan and has got behind the idea that he can grow Tottenham into a European powerhouse. He’ll undoubtedly win this poll, but In my opinion he’s the least likely of all those names to actually get the job.

I went for zidane because our group of players need someone who has a great track record (no-one touches zidane the last 3 years) and someone who is-probably still- better than them all at football. He plays a style we will love, and will draw bigger names than any of those other managers would.

Might as well tell us the name and some of the achievements if you're going to post twice about it.

Poch has impressed me hugely this season, coming off a hugely disappointing summer transfer window with no players bought, and a myriad of injuries this season, he has then proceeded to have one of the best ever starts for Spurs and done it a completely professional manner.

Sexton, Docherty, Mourhino……………..Conte anyone?

I'm being facetious here and haven't a clue who Utd should go for. Moyes aside they've tried the big names and it hasn't worked. A young manager maybe an idea. Eddie Howe? Southgate would be mad to quit the England job right now. Zidane phoned Jose apparently and confirmed he wasn't after his job a couple of months ago. Well he hasn't got one now so no fear of upsetting him now.

Pochetino all day.

It'd be very nice if you lads can tag me or any of the staff, when you're posting twitter updates, so that we can update the threadmarks on the go and make it easier for others to keep up to date.

Poch as my first choice. Importantly knows the league very well, has risen tottenham to a solid top 4 club that's always challenging for the title.

he's worked on a smaller budget and improved many players at the club. Plays a good balance of attacking football while also remaining solid.

Works with youth really well, and is a motivator. What more could you want?

Gallardo is the man. He will be cheap, has to prove himself in european football so he will be hungry. He also has a good relationship with his players and he's a tactical master.

And he could be here right now after playing the Clubs World Cup. I think that United has nothing to loose, he would be easy to replace if it goes wrong somehow.

He's young, plays offensive football, developes new players and adapts his teams all the time. He's triumphed all the time since he's been a manager.

In 5 years or so, he's become the best manager in the history of River Plate, one of the Giants of South America, with some history. So it has merits.

Pretty much this. I would have said Wenger but he's likely not interested. It has to be Poch.

I would certainly attempt to interview Eddie Howe, along with several of the other bright young coaches across Europe. I'd want someone whose vision matches the club's traditions.

I'd be surprised if Pochettino is a realistic option, as he has a contract until summer 2023. Hard to believe that Levy would allow him to leave, even if Pochettino wanted to take the risk of leaving Spurs to join United.

With the other top clubs having elite managers, I think our best chance is to hire from the next generation of managers. Get someone who can add value through their coaching rather than simply rely on expensive transfers.

I want Poch but since he won't leave till next summer. D. Simone. The scenes between him and Klopp would be epic

Wenger is finished lets be honest, he's lost the hunger which is why he failed at Arsenal. He'd also never join us because of the rivalry.

I voted Jardim. Much cheaper. Works with DoF people unlike Pochettino who apparently doesn’t so I’ve read somewhere (not sure if it was his choice or just he hasn’t)

Providing him and Luis Campos didn’t fall out at Monaco, I’d bring Campos in as the first of the DoF personnel not too far behind him, then get the rest of the DoF personnel in the summer.

By summer, Jardim will know who’s good enough to stay and who needs to be bought. Campos will know the names of the best deals out there to get them in, in accordance with Jardim.

I'm not sure Poch would trade London/Spurs for us. He's an argentinian living in London (best city on Earth) who would love to manage Madrid and who has spent much of his life in Spain.

Setien is one of the most interesting coaches about. With an effective DoF I would be very interested to see what he could do with bigger resources.

Think Poch would be the safest bet as an appointment, but a big job will call for Setien soon.

Jardim would be good with the young players but we need a manager who command respect right away, just not sure if Jardim has that. I feel Poch and Zidane would instantly command respect, especially Zidane.

This is probably the most testing time of Ed Woodward's career. All the candidates have obvious weaknesses and strengths, there is no one candidate that completely ticks all the boxes. Its' about prioritizing what we want now, which can offset certain weaknesses.

Mind-boggling that anyone would suggest Simeone at this point? One of the reasons the fans couldn't get on board with either Jose or LvG was the dour, negative football, which is what Simeone is best known for.

Pochetino first. That would be just the brilliantist way to go but i feel this will be impossible.

There is a big bit of me that would love to see what Eddie Howe would be able to achieve also.

I think we should let the coaches take care of the tactics a little more, as Ferguson used to, whilst the manager concentrates on players and motivation. I want Zidane for that reason. This generation grew up idolising him, they will run through brick walls to impress him.

If not him, i'd be happy with Jardim or Poch. If only Poch had already shown he can take a team to the top level.

Simeone i'll never forgive for 1998 but if he learned English he could be a good option.

What matters is the DoF. The next manager is going to have to do a lot of rebuilding according to the blueprint laid down, so he has to be on the same hymn sheet as the DoF. Managers are basically decorators, not builders, and we have a house that needs renovating. The first two seasons, we shouldn't expect to win anything much.

I like Pochettino but he’s a media darling for the London papers, if he was to join us the pressure would be ramped up with his record of never winning anything constantly highlighted. The scrutiny would be intense with with constant comparisons to what he left behind at Spurs.

I’d like us to be able to think outside of the box if needed, start a project and go from there. Jardim for me.
