Pretty sure its gonna be Zidane, worst kept secret in the history of football tbh. Wouldnt mind Poch but he'd be nuts to leave spurs for the massive uncertainty that is rebuilding and taking us back to the top.

Jardim ticks all the boxes. And he'll know exactly how to bring through the likes of Greenwood, Chong, Gomes etc given that he won the league in France with 18 years old Mbappe leading the line
Feel he'd be like unai emery with arsenal. Good but not great.

I want Poch, whether he is attainable is another thing altogether. Recently signed a long contract, we just paid off Mourinho for the pleasure; difficult to envisage us willing to pay out his contract knowing the board were very willing to finish mid-table to save that compensation money just a few games ago.

Zidane or Jardim for different reasons. I'm of the opinion that we actually have a very good and competitive starting eleven, sure the defence could be better but are capable of putting out a more than competent midfield and attack. Zidane has shown he's a great man manager (this team could do with a big morale boost), and has also shown a tactical astuteness by how he's change things mid-game that went on to affect the result. If Jardim were able to recreate the football he was playing at Monaco before that team got taken apart, it would reinvigorate the club and the fans and get us back to producing edge of the seat stuff with players like Martial, Alexis, Rashford, Pogba, Fred.

Exciting times ahead. :D

Sir Alex has long been a great admirer of Poch.

For me, the outstanding candidate is Poch.

Knows the league, good brand of football, good record of improving players/promoting youth.

I'd have taken Poch before Mourinho but we went for the big name instead.

The worry for me is still lack of DOF may hamper transfers for ANY new manager, we have a structure issue at our club and any manager will likely fail with this current set up unless they can magically make trash like Rojo/Jones/Fellaini into elite level world class footballers.

My 2nd worry with Poch is - why would he come? Sure we are in theory a "bigger" club and have a better history and bigger fan base. We are superior to Spurs in many ways, but not footballing terms. Spurs have a better squad, a higher league position and he has laid foundations there to bring success. On a pure footballing level, Spurs are better than us. The second part of why would Poch choose us is the links to Madrid. if we and Madrid both want him, I wouldn't say we are the out and out favourite in honesty.

Poch strikes me as a methodical, calculated decision maker so hopefully he sees the potential to build a legacy at utd. If the board back him, and he gets our better players playing and a lot of the deadwood out, then he'll do well.

Any manager coming in needs to be looking to sell 8-10 players and changing the style of play. Not an easy task for anyone

We would obviously all like Poch...but why would he come here? In fact why would Zidane. You would have be seriously confident in your ability to turn this ship around. Could destroy his Managerial career.

Really hoping for this to be true,it won't be cheap but I feel like Poch would be a fantastic hire. He'd finally be at a club ready and capable to meet and match his ambition

If we're serious about rebuilding then it has to be Poch. Maybe after his foundations we could go for a Zidane but if we appoint Zidane next then it screams a need for immediate success and is yet another shortcut.

What if Evra was a friend of Zidane & was sat next to Woodward couple weeks ago as a negotiator between the two?

He doesn't play attacking football, but he'd probably be the best coach for this squad. Club have stated it'll be an attacking coach, so that's pretty much will not be him.
I think we have to get over this so called attacking style not all of Sir Alex's teams played swashbuckling, exciting, attacking football some of his teams did but some of the title winning teams were very pragmatic. I think it's a myth that United fans will only accept attacking football what they want most of all is winning football and to be competing for and winning major trophies and for me Simeone is by far the best candidate for doing that.

Pochettino or Zidane for me.

Part of me edging towards Zidane for the respect he would demand and his ability to get players on side.

Why would we be talking about a caretaker until the end of the season if we've already agreed a deal with Zidane? That story doesn't make sense.
Because portuguese papers are talking shite? I would trust English journos on this one, like BBC, than some random Portuguese paper

Jamie Carragher.

Laugh all you want but for once we'd be getting ahead of the curve and snapping up a top young footballing mind before he's fully appreciated.

Blanc followed by Poch would be the best possible way forward. We will just need to move heaven and earth to bring Poch here. And even if we were working on it, it will be near impossible to keep any success or failure in the approach a secret from the media.

Half the season to go, so many pressers where Poch will be asked the question to clarify his commitment. IF we got him I wonder whether it would be a early announcement whilst seeing out his Spurs season, or a poorly kept secret.

Poch sounds like a pipedream either way.

I respect Jardim work at Monaco, but I would pick Paulo Fonseca, Vítor Pereira, Jorge Jesus or even Sérgio Conceição over Jardim.

In fact, from the portuguese pool, Sérgio Conceição seems to tick all the boxes when it comes to fiting Man Utd identity, either tactically, either by personality. And plus: set-pieces training is taken seriously.

Why aren’t Solskjær and Giggs poll candidates?
Presumably no one considers them permanent choices. Giggs is definitely not going to take the role - he has only just got started with Wales. Its difficult to see Ole getting the permanent role ahead of the likes of Zidane and Poch.

I cant take the people voting for Simeone or Conte seriously. Do you even watch other teams? Atletico are awful to watch most of the time.
This. Mourinho up another level. And like mourinho they only actually come out to play when they go a goal down.

Who are the football men in our board? Sir Bobby Charlton & SAF only right? I guess SAF will be the one making the decision since Woody won't be in a strong position since Jose was his appointment. Pretty sure SAF will go for Poch since he plays good football, has developed younger players & has PL experience. He is a safe and a smart choice. Doubt SAF would ever suggest a manager without PL experience unless it was someone exceptional like Pep. The only question is can we get Poch since Real would want him too in the summer. I won't be surprised if we miss out on him unless Perez decides not to pay Levy the money he would demand

Diego Simeone is by a mile the best candidate if he wants the job then it should be his. But whoever get's the job they are going to need a lot of money to vastly rebuild the squad.
i think he is too defensive for us. we just got rid of a defensive minded coach surely?

I think Blanc until the end of the season is a good option if he's interested in that. He may do very well, and if he steadies us without any substantial improvement then we can go after another manager more wiling to move in the summer (Ten Hag would be my choice).

They're on the advisory board, not the real board. It's purely ceremonial.

I’d want Pocchetino but as much as it pains me to admit it, @GlastonSpur comments about him in relation to the hot seat here are on the money. I don’t think he’s a realistic candidate and to be honest I like that, he seems like he’s got a plan and has got behind the idea that he can grow Tottenham into a European powerhouse. He’ll undoubtedly win this poll, but In my opinion he’s the least likely of all those names to actually get the job.

I went for zidane because our group of players need someone who has a great track record (no-one touches zidane the last 3 years) and someone who is-probably still- better than them all at football. He plays a style we will love, and will draw bigger names than any of those other managers would.
Quote: FOUR FOURTWO

Zidane doesn't fit into any conventional managerial bracket. He’s no visionary like Pep Guardiola, no cynic like Jose Mourinho, no disciplinarian like Sir Alex Ferguson. Quite often, his team don't even play well. Yet in Europe, they keep winning. And so with no particular competence to praise, enter the theory that explains it all: La flor de Zidane. Basically: Zidane is just lucky.

Lucky he certainly is. Madrid had a favourable draw en route to the 2016 final, which they then won on penalties. Lucky. In 2017, they took advantage of a harsh red card given to Arturo Vidal to beat Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals. Lucky. This year they got a stoppage-time penalty against Juventus in the quarter-finals, before Marcelo handled inside the box against Bayern Munich in the semi-finals. The referee didn’t see it. Lucky, lucky, lucky.
