Yes, it would be bad for us if we get talented young, fast player who plays on the right for 45 mils. That would be bad for our attacking game. Why not buy another CB for 100 mils instead of trying to find out which 2 from our team can play together well.. And/or get Toby in two for 25.

Pulisic + Toby would be 70"mils and solve most of our problems.. But lets splash cash on some CB not proven in EPL
Or we could save our money and get a far more talented player. There's nothing special about him whatsoever, once you take out the America media machine behind him there's not a lot that's great. For 10m as a project or something, sure, 45m  Chelsea can have him. Pulisic doesn't close any gap for us to City or Liverpool.

I don't think it's all of the sudden. Imo his biggest quality has been that he was extremely mature at a very young age but I don't think there's necessarily a world class talent beneath that. So naturally (as becoming mature is an automatic part of most player's development) that head start matters less and less and he begins to look more ordinary.

Put a talented attacker in Dortmund's team and he's bound to look good and pick up a couple of goals/assists here and there. Add to the mix that he's from the US who are desperate for a decent footballer and let him play a lot of games against 3rd rate opposition and voila you have some off the charts hype going.

And FYI: both Sancho and Pulisic have played on either attacking side. It's not like he's being benched just because of Sancho. He's being benched because Favre also prefers Bruun-Larsen and Guerreiro.
Just because Pulisic is not getting minutes or playing well under one manager does not mean he can't get on with a different one. Pulisic is very talented no doubt he has good technical attributes ,creativity and a eye for a pass. Keep in mind this lad is 20 years old and has been playing for Dortmund since he was 17 where he scored and became there youngest scorer ever. This is his 3rd year and of course there are going to be dips in form and production for a guy so young he is 20. Sancho won't be high flying for 3 seasons on the trot I can almost guarantee that he will have a season where his form won't match his quality. It's natural especially for young players.

There is a lot of raw talent there.

Don't want him. He'd just be the next Kagawa n Miki. Not a player we need.

Go and offer them daft money for Sancho in the summer. Dortmund are a selling club and he'd come to us I reckon with him being an adopted manc and good friends with Gomes n Rashford.

He is 20 of course he won't close the gap....neither will Sancho who is 18. Please don't start with " American media machine" when England is known for overhyping any kid who puts on a pair of cleats and immediately calls him class. Their is only one 20 year old or younger player who will close any gap to city and Liverpool and that is Mbappe.

Oh please tell me how then? YOU are telling me the English media are not the biggest hype machine in the world ? YOU are telling me English players are not the most overhyped in the world ? Keep in mind I am not talking about Sancho I am saying in general.

The fact that you don't even know how to reply shows the little knowledge a few posters on here have in terms of football.

So again I will ask you what 20 year old or younger player RIGHT NOW would close the gap to city and Liverpool besides Mbappe? Don't worry ill wait. Take your time on this I really want you to try.

I'm not sure what the English media have to do with anything. It's a thread about Pulisic and he's American. I think you are using it as a lame dig assuming I'm some massively pro English guy which is hilarious given I roared the house down with joy when Croatia stopped them at the World Cup.

And the idea Sancho wouldn't make a difference is hilarious, he's putting up elite numbers at 18. Absolutely comical you have a go at others for little knowledge of football with some of the garbage you write. You should stop with the Pulisic and Sancho stuff, it won't end well for your boy.

See that's what I mean, that video is like 2/3 scenes from the NT and the Dortmund part is mostly pre-season friendlies and cup minnows. Matches like that don't make you a big player. Jozy Altidore scored over 40 goals for the US.
I'm not saying that Pulisic is devoid of talent btw, he's rapid, he's got very neat technique and clean passes under pressure. But that doesn't make him special. I don't think his passing is particularly creative or inspired and his shooting isn't really dangerous, I see him as a good cog in an otherwise functioning machine, if you create space for him he can exploit it. But the ones who made Dortmund tick were/are guys like Mkhiytaryan, Reus, Dembele and Sancho.

1. The reason I brought up the English media was because YOU brought up " American media hype machine" as an argument to why Pulisic was "average" hence why I ended that argument with the English media example.

2. Sancho is 18! he his having a great season well on the lad but its his first season he absolutely would not be " the signing United need to help bridge the gap bath blah blah" that is nonsense. Rashford was also a world beater and better then Mbappe too ..but wait.

3. I don't care if Pulisic makes it or not I just recognize his talent AND I won't say he is better to worse then Sancho yet because it is still to early BUT I will say that Sancho has impressed me more. Nonetheless I was never and am not comparing the quality of both players but rather saying that neither would bridge any gap with City or Liverpool at this moment. They are far too young.

Has shown more than Ousmane Dembele for me. With better consistency.
Goals/Assists for Dortmund:
Pulisic 14/24
Dembele 10/21

Seasons needed to accumulate those stats:
Pulisic: 3
Dembele: 1

Goals/Assists this season:
Pulisic: 3/4
Dembele: 10/5

The hype seems to be working.

I agree with some of that for sure but he showed glimpses albeit a friendly vs Liverpool what he can do. As you said he has lots. of raw talent the difference and BIG one between him and Sancho right now is end product which Sancho has bags of. Nonetheless I think he is a player who under the right coach has all the tools to succeed. Whether he will or won't we will just have to wait and see.

Well with this I 100% agree with you. Pulsic is no Dembélé that should not even be a comparison.

Hahahaha what? That's a stupid response but typical or you, you spam the forum with nonsense and get personal when your arguments are proven wrong. The English media which is shit has nothing do with with Pulisic. It's a bizarre comeback but people get desperate when they have no argument. I can't say the American media have bigged up Pulisic a lot because the English media have done with players in the past? The dumbest logic I've ever seen and makes no sense whatsoever.

If you can't see the talent of Sancho then there's no helping you, then again you are the guy who thinks Ronaldo is better than Messi and some guy from the UAE league would come to Europe and destroy everyone so I'd be more concerned if we agreed.

How so? Productivity wise Dembele has 49 goals and 31 assists in 149 senior appearances while Pulisic has 15 goals and 17 assists in 114 appearances. Dembele is also currently on a rich vein of form while Pulisic has struggled for game time this season so the timing of your post is strange

Pulisic is most definitely a talented player - but he is a £10M-£20M talent, not a £50M+ talent.

I think that we should send some of our young talents on loan at Germany before we decide yo buy from Bundesliga again. Lot of players that have dominated this league haven't shown anything rally outside of it.

Ok so let me shut you down just one more time.

1. NOT ONCE did I say I done see Sancho talent in fact I just said he was arguably better then Pulisic in a post. All I said was NEITHER of them would bridge any gap with City or Liverpool.Period. That is FACT. Yet again and for the third and last time I brought up the English media because it was funny how you tried to downplay pulisic because of American media.

2. My thread I started about Omar Abdulrahman yet again I think you might have a problem with reading and comprehension and I cant help you with that. So lets take it layer by layer. GO FIND one post of mine and quote me where I said he would come to Europe and destroy everyone, Because what I remember quite well is saying that if at 21 he came to a team like Ajax with his talent who knows how he could have developed.

3. Alrighty and part 3 now my opinion on Ronaldo being better well for that you will have to speak to me in the appropriate thread its a fun debate and it goes either way. But listen if you do want to do that please actually use words and facts instead of "hahahah" and I will be happy to reply.

So to be clear I dont think Pulisic will be a top 5 or top 10 player to be quite honest but I think its silly to label him as average when he clearly has talent to be harassed and developed. With that being said I believe Sancho has the higher ceiling and is the bigger talent AND with that being said I dont think either would make United more of a title contender because they are simply too young and though talented the only 20 year old in the world with that kind of ability and star power is Mbappe.

I heavily disagree with this statement as the mental part of the game can easily hinder a talent from developing towards a top class player no matter how much raw talent he has.

And Christian Pulisic has plenty. From the technical and physical stand point Pulisic is in no way less talented than Marco Reus was, who reached (and still operates on) undisputed world class level. His first meters with the ball on his foot are exceptional, his passing ability (strong control on both weight and direction) is very clean and his shooting technique is actually pretty damn strong (as attested by multiple coaches and teammates including the mentioned Reus).

The problem is not that others caught up to him, but that Pulisic does not covert his talent into performances well enough anymore. The number of technical mistakes (especially in terms of first touch) and wrong decisions rose steadily. He did not stagnate in his development but actually regressed. He was a better player at 18 than he is at 20 and as I believe that a football player does not suddenly forget how to play the game, I think the problem is of mental nature.

He suffered a major mental setback when the US failed to qualify for the WC 2018 and it changed his attitude on the pitch. Instead of beating one opposing player and then passing the ball, he started to take on three and lost the ball in the process. His good decision making as team player vanished and what remained was a fairly egoistical way to play the game.

He is visibly not commited enough to the club and team anymore as he decided to need a change of environment to develope. I think his most likely destination (Chelsea) is a horrible choice as the pressure to perform (from what he seems to suffer under) won´t lessen in the EPL and the Blues are known to have very little patience with talents (the stark opposite to us), but maybe he will prove me wrong. I highly doubt he will fail because of a lack of talent, though.

Jesus buddy seriously can you read and comprehend ? go look where I wrote FACT. The word FACT was followed by the sentence " neither would bridge the gap between city and Liverpool". Which is a fecking fact:lol: jesus christ.

I am not going to explain the media "argument" again because its not one it was just a note and had nothing to do with the bigger point I was getting at.

"you bring up stupid arguments" funny coming from the guy who brought up one from a previous thread making false claims.

How is that a fact? Because the almighty you says so? Absolutely stupid. Sancho has been arguably the best player for a team well clear at the top of the Bundesliga yet it's a "fact" he can't come here and help us close the gap a bit? Even someone like you can surely see the stupidity of such a comment, surely?

Sancho is a very talented lad but with only 1 year of senior football to his name no I truly do not believe he is the piece to help bridge a gap with either of the top 2 teams in the country.

Believe me if Sancho joins united in the summer and United fight for the title and this kid tears English football apart you can quote this post and I will call myself a fecking idiot. I am 90% that that will not be the case.

This in the end of the day is just a football forum and we are talking about the sport we love. No hard feelings at all mate

Sure, the mental side of the game can hold back a career, just like any other aspect. But I think it's the side of the game where players can make the most progress. Maybe Pulisic has the same "raw talent" as Reus, but I don't think that says as much as one might think, since (perhaps aside from his shooting ability) the mental side is imho the one that makes Reus exceptional and I leaving aside his newcomer seasons I haven't seen anything to suggest that Pulisic is near that level.
Maybe his shooting technique is great, but he doesn't really show that in reality. For the league: this season (1 goal) he has the 4th highest penalty area shots per 90 among the team (ahead of Sancho (6 goals) for example), two seasons ago (3 goals) he was 6th highest, basically tied with Dembele (6 goals).

I think even at his best he was fairly good for his age but not that good and if his performances deteriorate once an attacker (someone I'd call a "dribbler" even) tries to take the reigns, tries to create space instead of just leveraging the space his teams have created for him then I think that says something about him as well.

He is talented and I'd take him if it was for peanuts, but he won't be moving for that. We already have a lot of forwards + Chong and Greenwood coming through anyway. His numbers are quite underwhelming, barely matches up to that of our Jesse.

Honigstein is saying we haven't spoken to Dortmund since sacking Mourinho, we may be interested but the feeling is that we will wait until we appoint the permanent manager before going after transfer targets (which could include Pulisic), with our owners it would make sense.

Honigstein just regurgitates what the reliable parts of German media (or in this instance Bild) report and adds a grain of non-committal common sense speculation as "sources told:".
