Thought Pogba made a meal out of it at first, but replays show it was should've been a straight red.

You’ll still see people all over social media demanding his inclusion in the England squad the next time it’s announced and calling him the most creative English midfielder.

He’s done nothing all season but people talk about him like he’s some kind of poor man’s Scholes just because he can hit a pretty 40 meter long pass every now and again. He’s barely even a poor man’s Rooney circa 2017.

Right. He's fecking shite and he is weirdly rated. There is reason he never went to a decent club after Liverpool. He's terrible
Only once in his career has he reached a 7 rating over the course of a season on WhoScored and that was in The Championship.

The epitome of mediocrity.

He's fecking terrible. I have no idea how he is rated by some. Several mentions of him in this thread as being underrated :houllier:

The referee was horrible and should referee rugby games from now. That a disgrace of a performance from him. That tackle was criminal.

Should be a red card. What do you expect in the premier league though? Most of the bottom 14 use physicality as there main tactic against the toptsides and know they'll rarely get a red. Referees are awful.

Kudos to Pogba for not cnuting him. I would have made sure he left the pitch on crutches.

Stupid challenge and could have been a red. I disagree with the part that he isn't good enough. He has an eye for a pass and decent technique but is way too inconsistent.

But his ability is irrelevant here. It was a dangerous tackle and he should at least have been booked.

Gerrard was definitely that kind of player. Especially in his younger days.

That tackle was completely deliberate. Out to harm our best player at the moment, I assume because of his Liverpool roots.

Remember that tackle he did on Jonny Evans, fully stretched leg, stamped him all the way up his leg. Evans hard into the tackle too, but it just shows Shelvey hates United.

Must have been out to harm our best player. FA can't do anything now, can they?

Him calling Fergie a grass was the only time he was really relevant.

Think there was a call for him to be in the England squad when we had a manager like Hodgson cos he kept picking the same ol trash. Under Southgate, nah.

There was a big push from some quarters for Southgate to take him to the World Cup.

Even before the last international break, people on the Facebook comments were complaining that he wasn’t included in the squad.

As someone said earlier in the thread, he’s Charlie Adam without the decent numbers that Adam put up in his Blackpool days.

Revolting tackle. One of the most overrated CMs in the PL because every 1 out of 10 passes is a worldy.

I'm glad Pogba got in his face in a controlled way, we need a bit of that for these types of game where we're getting kicked around by a super defensive setup.

If that had been a United player it would be front page news with a ban on the way

FA in protecting referees to the point where they endanger players shocker.

Absolute joke. There should at least be an exception to that stupid rule when it comes to purely malicious challenges like that, so players know they're going to be in trouble for making them at some point regardless of what the referee calls on the spot. Ideally the rule should be scrapped altogether so refs are accountable for their mistakes.

Some people saying that wasn't a red. Any attempt of intentionally hurting the opponent is a straight red.

If Paul had his foot on the ground that tackle would've ended his career. ( just because some of you saw the football played in the 80's and 90's and thought that going in hard means " playing like men" doesn't mean that it still works today. That challenge is a red in any era.)

Waiting to see if he gets any retrospective punishment, he should do, the tackle looks worse every time you look at it.
Horrendous.

I've never been one to wish injury upon a player, but am more than willing, proud even, to make an exception in this case.

Can't stand footballers who hack down opponents due to their inferiority complex on not having even a fraction of their targets talent.

Someone needs to take him out with a bang on the field. Don't care how, he needs to taste his own medicine in a big way.
