So the team selection continues to be a joke.
India's 13-man squad for SCG Test:

Virat Kohli (C), A Rahane (VC), KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal, C Pujara, H Vihari, R Pant, R Jadeja, K Yadav, R Ashwin, M Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Umesh Yadav

With Ishant, Rohit and Ashwin not making it for this test, I would have loved to see Pandya and Kuldeep given an opportunity for Ishant and Rohit.

Agarwal aside, who looked fluent before the brain-fade, it's been another meandering start, similar to Melbourne. The staying power and determination of the Indians keeping them slowly ticking along without loss. Honestly can't see Australia winning this if it continues this way.

KL Rahul career gotta be done, at least in tests. Shaw will come back and open with Mayank

Every ball is in his head now. I'd drop him from all formats for awhile. I think they're keeping him on for the ODIs. Not sure that's the best thing to do. Ranji knockouts coming up - that may be more productive. Go out and belt some canteen staff..

What a day. Mayank Aggarwal looked brilliant. Vihari looks a class act.

Rahane will be dropped too with Gill coming in the future.

Winning the toss as in the previous test matches proves to be crucial yet again. Best day of batting for either side in the entire series. Will be interesting to see if the pitch starts to turn in the final 2-3 days as expected but it's great to bat on right now.

That should be the series. Australia are awful. I reckon we beat them with Smith and Warner. Their bowling has been so shit this series.

Apparently one of the Australian commentators jokingly said that Pujara has fewer shots than some Female cricket player. Funny since the only shot the Aussie batsmen know is the edge behind.

All hail Pujara. I thought he'd never recover his form of old but he's completely made me eat my words.

I would be fine with us batting till both Jadeja and Pant get out.
They'll probably start taking more risks now.. but no point declaring as long as one of them is still around. 3 days should be plenty..

Go on Pant :D

A good batting lineup is slowly emerging. Shame that we barely play any more tests this year.

Red Card for Casemiro!
Hard to believe Pant is 21.

He's replaced a legend behind the stumps, scored hundreds in England and Australia broken the record for most WK-effected dismissals, and successfully bantered out an Australian captain to the extent that their PM brings it up with him.

Good for him. He had a bright future ahead.

The last few innings, he's paced them very well, not gone out all guns blazing as he's known to do. That's the most promising sign imo

Doesn't look like a declaration is on the cards. Don't mind that at all
Think Australia will be asked to bat for 4-5 overs at the end of the day, still 15 overs to go. 10 overs like the last 10 would mean 670 plus and century for Jadeja plus 150 for Pant

The dressing room body language doesn't suggest a declaration today, looks like they already put their feet up to relax :D

Great innings by all the batsmen. This should be the end of KL Rahul's international test career for the foreseeable future.

I would have liked Kohli to hold off on declaring. Let Pant have his double century and make Australia field for as long as possible because the pitch looks like a beautiful one to bat on.
