I'm not ready to jump on the Emery-hate bandwagon. He was given a Europa League squad with a few talented forwards, was told they'd not have money to spend, and has them in a Europa League position. It's also, by some distance, the worst run club in the "top 6."

Take a flavour of the month manager like Poch & put him in the Arsenal dugout, and the difference would be very, very minimal. Claude talks like someone of Allegri's caliber would come in & demand changes be made... Maybe he would, but would they make them? Would they feck.

Mia Khalifa doesn’t speak for us Americans. I was introduced to Manchester United and the Premier League when Wayne Rooney hit that amazing volley against Newcastle in 2005. I’ve been hooked since. Not some shit movie with Frodo.

You're extremely harsh calling Poch flavour of the month

Then you're deluded!
Both managers are the same age. One manager has won trophies - The other has won nothing. One works for a well-run club, while the other one works for circus. One has been at their post for a few years, and has a top 4 squad in a top 4 position. One has been at their job for a few months, and has a Europa league squad in a Europa league position.

Poch would've have done no better in Emery's shoes.

Good grief, it's the man's first season with comparatively little money to spend. What were people expecting?

When any manager or team goes through a bad stretch of form, common sense and context seems to go out the window. It's pathetic.

Poch has done an equal if not better job than Klopp. So what does that make the Liverpool manager then?

Really isn't. Arsenal is, by some distance, the worst run club in the top 6.

Dare I say I don't consider Klopp to be better than Poch either
I don't disagree. Poch took over a stronger squad than Klopp, but Klopp has been given crazy money to spend. Klopp, like Poch, has a top 4 squad in the top 4. Neither manager has won anything with their current clubs, and their finishes in recent years are, honestly, as expected, rather than spectacular (except the CL run, which means little as it didn't result in a trophy - same as this league season if it ends the same).

Neither are great PL managers until they win something. Getting your team to finish where it should finish is exactly what Emery is doing, so why bash him while simultaneously praising the others?

Emery had a very impressive record in the Europa League with Sevilla but that's about as much as you can credit him for. He missed out on the title to Monaco in France with by far the most expensively assembled squad in the league and his record with Spartak was far from impressive.

Pochettino might not have won a trophy yet but he has undoubtedly improved every team he has managed. He's vastly superior.

We'll have to agree to disagree. I can't see Pochettino as being vastly superior to Emery, and I stand by what I said earlier - You give Pochettino the reins at Arsenal following Wenger, and they'd be in no better shape at all. Arsenal are just Newcastle on a bigger scale - Their fanbase demands, but their owner is disinterested. They have a top 6 squad in a top 6 position, just like Newcastle/Spurs are where they should be in the table.

Anyway, Troopz!

Claude is spot on about Emery by the way

Those on here who were creaming themselves about him earlier in the season should have their membership revoked

It does make you wonder about the current Solskjaer love-in at the moment too. Will there still be smiles in March?

Give most of these guys cash and that’s really all they need to push on. Klopp and Pep both needed a huge injection. People saying Emery and pooch proving they ain’t all that. Err they coincidently don’t get to throw cash at problems either. Pooch aside there ain’t much between the rest being discussed.

These guys make an absolute mockery of Arsenal. I'd want them to feck off if I was a fan.

To be honest, I saw your response & figured it was meant for me

I don't consider all managers the same. I just think Poch's progress is exaggerated to the good, whilst Emery's tenure so far is being exaggerated to the bad. Looking at each squad, and the squads of those around them, neither manager have their team overperforming (or underperforming) in terms of league position, & Poch has the benefit of several years in the job (as well as being employed at a better ran club).

Perhaps, but I don't consider him much better than Emery at all.
I do agree that Poch would probably not have Arsenal higher than 5th right now with this squad, but let's not forget that the Spurs team Poch inherited was in no way better than what Emery has at Arsenal, and Pochettino has managed to get that team into the top 3 for 3 seasons running (probably 4) without spending. Let's see if Emery can do that.

Emery deserve some time, just like Poch, Klopp and Pep got, none of them got the results they wanted in their first season.

 At Troopz.

Arsenal committed to £65m net in the summer window on fees alone. Then you have the wages of Ozil which are monumental (costing at least £45m over the contract). He's another one of those that thinks Arsenal are a super club and can spend hundreds of millions like it's nothing. The reality hasn't set in that Arsenal don't have a donkeys chance anymore because of injections of money into the game.

I'm Emery Out. He's not playing Ozil or Ramsey because of tactics and his side unsurprising can't create anything when he drops his most creative players. He has a poor pool of resources but he's wasting the resources he has. Top 4 is gone now.

I think they want to flog Ozil and that's why he's been frozen out. It reminds me of Mourinho benching and flogging Mata and ofcourse forcing out KDB and Salah.

He didn't need top 4 in his first season but mismanaging the best resources we have and persisting with dross like Xhaka and Iwobi is pointless. Torreira also on the bench with 3 CBs. No creativity.

So we've sacked Wenger and are on target to hit points less than an average Wenger season while playing tumescent football.

There has been over a decade of underinvestment while the club sold players and built up 200m in the bank, that was the amount about 4-5 years ago. I think that money's been leveraged against Kroenke's loans personally. People blamed Wenger but he had to put up with continually selling his best players and never getting funds for adequate replacements. So it was always going to see us drop off further sooner or later.

At the moment I believe we can't buy due to FFP rulings on wages. Which is a piss take really given how prudent the club is.
