Well, the contexts are totally different. United had good players not playing at their best while Monaco has bad players not playing well while the best players have been injured for the better part of the season. Also Monaco lost most of its key players this summer and didn't replace them with equivalent players. The issue with Monaco wasn't the manager and they replaced him with a worse one.
Sounds like terrible decision making at the club, then. How did they manage to build a team that everybody wanted to copy? Was it just Jardel or just luck, or have something changed?

Think their squad got stripped of Martial, Mbappe, Fabinho and maybe a couple others over the space of two seasons and the replacements haven't been anywhere near as good. Jardim also had a shocking start to the season which saw him sacked.

Was always going to be difficult for him. Was an odd decision to go there. They're a sinking ship.

My opinion is that it's a mix of Campos leaving and Jardim doing miracles. Campos leaving means that they lost his expertise in the transfer market and Jardim pulled miracles which seemingly gave the idea that he could turn duds into football players while also developing kids(16 to 18 years old players) quickly. Monaco did spend money but while the very young prospects look really good, the players that they brought to play immediately are for the most part bottom half players and that's where they found them too.

Monaco started the season with a lot of injuries and they were a lot better than they are today. The performances didn't match the results mainly because they lacked that little something that players like Jovetic, Sidibé and Lopes bring.

Ok, thanks for the info!

Getting eliminated from the cup at home vs a team from the lower division (albeit just two places separating them currently). Surely will be back at Sky within a couple of months?

Metz basically had their 2nd string out too. Just gets worse and worse for Monaco.

Bernardo Silva, Mendy, Bakayoko etc. They really were ravaged.

Hope not he was the worst pundit by a mile so bland and boring yet still the highest paid .

Suppose we have another few quid added on to our subscription if Sky bring him back

Disaster. Monaco expected a Zidane there, got a Rafa Benitez.

I said earlier before somewhere in this thread, he'll be back pitchside for Sky, with Neville and co just in time for City's title celebrations in May.

Also Henry rather than wasting away at the sky studios like Neville and being assistant at international level again like Nev should have just listened to Wenger and took the youth team job.

Day to day club running is totally different from seeing players once every few months.

He just made the same mistakes as Neville. He should have took up a youth team job but his TV career was too important.

Feet up at home.
To be honest I never agreed with him much as a pundit either. Seemed to come out with some bizarre points of view.

Why is Monaco waiting so long to appoint a new manager? Things are even worse than before.

Worse than Neville at Valencia. Who'd have thunk? Steer clear of Sky Sports pundits seems a solid starting point for chairmen. Carragher must feel he's got a free swing at this stage.

Because he thought he'd get a load of offers from big clubs and only China, Qatar and UEA have approached him. Now he can look like a hero and save the day by going back.
Jardim got offers from Portugal and China. He just keeps refusing them.

Ha! You were right. Henry has always struck me as someone who can't really express what he means effectively. Also don't think his people skills are good at all.
And at the same time he seems a bit vain while lacking any real charisma.

Magnificient footballer, though. Maybe he should just be an ambassador for Arsenal or something.
