I dont think Brady was “bad” like everyone is making out.

But he wasn’t at his best. And certainly isn’t the reason we won.

Defence, running game, Edelman. And a clutch moment from Gronk.

Happy we won! But it really was not a great game.

Not the game I expected. Defense & Jules superb. A Belichick masterclass.

Brady not at his best but feck it, 6 times champ - the GOAT.

Going to be tough for Goff to live this one down. Never thought the D would step up the way they did...and didn't think the offense would shit the bed like they did.....hold holding the Pats to 3 pts for 3 and half qtrs, any other playoff team would of been up by 3 TDS.....Pats D played well but not so we'll they shouldnt of been scored on a few times.

They both are.
Exactly. Perfect match. Belichick ain't winning those first three SBs with fumble/hold the ball forever/throw interceptions Drew Bledsoe, as good as Drew was at times.

And lest we forget that Belichick's defenses were gash against Atlanta and Philly and it was Brady bailing them out for a win and having an all-time game in the loss.

Funny thing is these Brady haters don't go around giving Walsh all the credit while discrediting Montana, or doing the same for Shanahan/Elway, Knoll/Bradshaw, etc.

Have they already given the MVP award to Hekker?

What a performance by the Patriots. Credit to BB for building the greatest dynasty in sport . Just an insane defensive performance. Awful performance by Goff though , serious doubts about his ability to read defences

It’s become tiresome now. But it is what it is. It’s easy to figure out who on here are just muppets who can’t shake bias and those who, fairly, don’t think Brady is the GOAT. It’s not totally unreasonable to say he isn’t the best QB ever, it’s just those who sit around and act like he’s average and only has won anything cos of BB.

To be honest this game says more about McVay.

Made no adjustments.

Highly predictable offence.

He had nothing original or new to give BB something to think about. Don’t get me wrong BB was very good, and always is, but he isn’t unbeatable. Look at what Philly and Atlanta did.

McVay has to take a lot of responsibility.

When it matters most, you give the ball to your best players. That’s how you win games. It’s a damn shame Hekker didn’t get more opportunities to punt.

Oh, by the way, staying on the field in the first quarter on 4th and two doesn’t look like a bad idea now, does it?

While I agree to an extent but there were multiple plays where Mcvay got the call right but Goff made bad decisions . Even that interception is completely Goffs fault . It's not just this game though , all season long he has been playing in a system where Mcvay does a lot of the reading for him

Amazingly enough, the Pats ended up winning after punting on 4th and 5 from the Ram's 40 on the very next drive.

Which.. ya know.. is why I said I don't really care about in game analytics.

That throw to Cooks wide open in the endzone was almost funny. He has to share some of the blame, obviously, but Goff is the main culprit today. He was just terrible.

Anyone know what the Rams' cap situation is like? They've got a few expensive players on that defense.

One thing I'll say in Goff's defense is this isn't the first nor the last time fans will witness a good (or great) QB play bad when the opposition is in his face all night. Newton was abysmal against Denver's defensive onslaught, and many others have failed as well despite being good passers overall. And then there's the all-time greats having a complete meltdown in the big game, ala P Manning vs Seattle.

4th and 5 isn’t equal to 4th and 2. That’s a huge difference, actually.

Ya know I was one of those who was bemoaning the ridiculous offensive turn the NFL has taken in recent years, especially this year. I really like defensive football when done right, but that will go down as one of, if not the worst Super Bowl ever. Almost all of that goes down on the Rams, Goff and McVay. Of course Belichick is the coaching goat, but he's been found out defensively several times in Super Bowls by other coaches. The wunderkind couldn't get a f*cking touchdown for christ's sake. Goff was awful. I don't care if it's his first SB, how many promising QBs have performed at least admirably in their first SBs at a young age? That pick was almost deserving for the dogshit performance he gave. Gurley was clearly nowhere near 100% and Anderson was found out for what he really was as being utterly bang average as a RB. Both defences were outstanding but for today's NFL to produce that type of Super Bowl is just hilarious, except for the fact that it led to another f*cking Pats SB, FFS.

TLDR; I'm just annoyed I stayed up this late for THAT, and yes I am a big aul salty Pats hater.
