From Maduro's point of view is understandable. How you will accept this from the country that allegedly want to send 5.000 troops to invade you. Hopefully they can sneak this help through other parts of the border. Hopefully people turns against the cnut by themselvesMaduro has blocked the roads between Venezuela and Colombia with trucks to prevent international aid (mostly food and medicine) to enter the country.

That was the first thing I thought, a new axis of evil. Surprised they didn’t get that into the SOTU address Tuesday night.Tweet

axis of evil getting the gang back together
You could just google Corbyn and Venezuela. Labour were talking about Venezuela literally this week.Jeremy and company have been a bit quiet on this subject recently.
Do people still want Labour as the new government with this idiot in charge backed up Tom Watson and McDonell?
And just look at the comments made by the lovely Ms Abbot. God help us if he ever does get into No.10.

I was thinking that yesterday. All that humanitarian aid could be well used in Yemen that kids are dying of hunger by the thousands. But hey, USA is in Venezuela for humanitarian reasonsTbh Chavez was doing a lot of good for Venezuela at the time most of these commentators were made.
I’d be more concerned about the current government getting chummy with the terrorist-backing Saudi regime, and selling them weapons that have killed scores of civilians in Yemen and put millions at risk of starvation. Heck they even tried to take the country to war with Assad.
In somewhat the same vein, we need Jack Kevorkian immediately installed as White House Physician.ELLIOTT ABRAMS, TRUMP’S PICK TO BRING “DEMOCRACY” TO VENEZUELA, HAS SPENT HIS LIFE CRUSHING DEMOCRACY

Just googledIn somewhat the same vein, we need Jack Kevorkian immediately installed as White House Physician.
"Authorizing"
had a bit of a "I'll kill everyone if it means saving a single life!" to it"Authorizing"
It may well be high time to get Maduro out, but to "authorize" a foreign government to invade after failing to coup yourself to the top is also questionable.
Off topic, but I have a lot of respect for the late Dr Jack Kevorkian. He helped a lot of terminal patients (cancer, etc) terminate their extreme suffering. Thanks to his efforts (and the efforts of countless other people of course) assisted suicide is now legal in California. In somewhat the same vein, we need Jack Kevorkian immediately installed as White House Physician.
I agree with every point you make, he certainly helped scores of people.Off topic, but I have a lot of respect for the late Dr Jack Kevorkian. Check out the link posted about how the western media are complicit in re-telling a misleading story. Why on earth would he do that
Only in the most narrow sense of 'doing a lot of good'. He was doing the political equivalent of sawing down the tree everyone was living in, and giving everyone free furniture made from the wood.Tbh Chavez was doing a lot of good for Venezuela at the time most of these commentators were made.
My point was the context of the time those quotes were made. The Corbyn critics make out as if he’s been singing the government’s praises during recent events.Only in the most narrow sense of 'doing a lot of good'. Corbyns critics are bashing Jezza for not saying very much about Venezuela at all, despite the critical humanitarian situation there and his previous enthusiasm for mouthing off about the place. Why so quiet now do you think? My point was the context of the time those quotes were made. The Corbyn critics make out as if he’s been singing the government’s praises during recent events.
It's not Corbyn fault if you can't use google.Corbyns critics are bashing Jezza for not saying very much about Venezuela at all, despite the critical humanitarian situation there and his previous enthusiasm for mouthing off about the place. Why so quiet now do you think?
Chavez got lots of criticism at the time for unsustainable policies but not from Corbyn. HisMy point was the context of the time those quotes were made. The Corbyn critics make out as if he’s been singing the government’s praises during recent events.
It would be like condemning the British government for praising Assad in the past as being as a bulwark against the war on terror, remaining ignorant on the context and timeframes. It’s disingenuous at best.

Like I said, there’s a difference between praising someone for enacting national policies they deem to be beneficial for the most vulnerable in society compared to a government that likes to arm a heinous medieval state so they can kill scores of Yemeni civilians and covertly back Islamic extremist factions.Chavez got lots of criticism at the time for unsustainable policies but not from Corbyn. His
enthusiastic support is more evidence of bad, ideologically distorted judgement.
That's all and well, but shows his lack of understanding. The narrative, that Chavez was the good guy and things turned bad with Maduro and a collapsing oil price, is false. There was essentially no sustainable economic development under Chavez. Consumption increased due to increased income from rising commodity prices, but the country didn't develop any industry, that would boost gdp/productivity. On the contrary, he managed to destroy the little there was.Like I said, there’s a difference between praising someone for enacting national policies they deem to be beneficial for the most vulnerable in society compared to a government that likes to arm a heinous medieval state so they can kill scores of Yemeni civilians and covertly back Islamic extremist factions.
