I think we have a chance. As in all cup competitions a lot depends on the draw. If we get Porto/Roma or Ajax then the chances of reaching the SF are good IMO. I wouldn't mind PSG or Bayern either.

If we do get to the SFs then who knows, anything can happen in football, especially when you have the world's best striker on your team and hopefully Alli back.
Interesting. Thank you for this.

Will be hilarious to see United dumped out of the CL tomorrow.
I feel you might have taken liberties with the word 'hilarious', we're 0-2 down against a far better team than us and have 10 players injured. We're out.

No more CL football for us after tomorrow but we're only three points behind you in the PL.... if you think about it you should probably be cheering us on, you'd rather we have more games than focus on the PL.

Spurs 4 - Dortmund 0 over two legs. Dortmund have averaged well over 3 goals per games in recent times. They got none over 2 games against Spurs.

If that's boring, then bring it on.
You guys play some shit on a stick football that's for sure, but well done for going through.

Funny to see Glaston so bullish about Spurs teaching QFs ...
Do you expect me to be disappointed? I'm celebrating an excellent Spurs performance over the two legs against Dortmund (a team that many on here predicted to go through). But it seems you don't like this.

Tough.

Glaston seems to think stuff like getting a round further that Club X( usually United) is a big achievement.

FFS. It's meaningless unless you win it.
Yeah. Usually I don’t remember who went out after which stage within two years, aside from United.

Um no it won't. You've already bottled it and fecked up your season...the perennial bottlers. Anything OGS does this season is a bonus for all realistic and level-headed United fans.

Considering where we were when that joker left, we're very happy.

Spurs on the other hand....
Can you imagine if they finish sixth.... big shiny stadium and no European football?

Honestly I’m not bothered. You should be more worried about league, really. From competing for the title to being 50/50 for a top 4 finish is just bad. You aren’t going to win CL but will need CL money badly. Not making it there will set you back significantly.

I know you were busy watching your own team. You would not have said this if you watched Ajax play tonight.

You'd help yourself by not being so confrontational. You're very concerned with posters praising Spurs yet I've never seen you praise the team most connected to this very forum

You'd not make a very good bookie.

Just responding in kind to @Sarni, who started in with his obvious regret that Spurs go marching on.
Yeah but it's a United forum, so when you have a dig at United you're inevitably going to wind up a few.

I don't really expect United fans to be cheering us on :D.

Bookie odds are not very well at reflecting long term outcome. Liverpool were like 3/5 to win the league not long ago.

You are competing with 3 other teams and all of them have arguably easier fixtures than you.

Until some bitter oppo fans started in about Spurs going through (or being "cowards"), I said nothing in this thread except to essentially say that Spurs didn't need to attack, that the onus was on Dortmund and that Spurs fully deserved to go through.

If posters post nonsense, or silly attacks, then why be surprised if their confrontational nonsense is confronted and exposed for the nonsense it is?

Nor do I. But some don't know how to give credit where credit is due.

For myself, I'm willing to give United credit for coming back from the dead to give themselves a decent chance of top 4 in the league.

I'm willing to admit 4-0 v Dortmund was a good result. Probably should have been tighter (goalie very good) but they're in with a shout and that's all any club/fan can ask for at this stage?

In all fairness, if it was United who were 3 up in a tie and didn't push forward I wouldn't be too bothered. I'd only be bothered when it became 3-2 or so.

Tactically, Spurs didn't have to go for a goal, but they were clearly told to catch them on the break to try and knick a goal which they did. I'm not a spurs fan but I can see the logic behind this approach. Luckily Lloris had an outstanding game.

Vasquez who's done nothing in his career and will do nothing gets applaued

And Bale gets booed..

Real fans for you
I'm not a Real fan, but I'd boo the overrated Welsh donkey. He's done the bare minimum in 6 years there, don't be fooled by the highlights package.

In six seasons, he's never managed to score more than 20 goals in the league, and his overall best for the season is 22 across all competitions - this while playing in a team that scores 140-160 goals a season in all competitions.

Maybe it's injuries, maybe it's his subpar technique, maybe it's that he doesn't contribute much to the buildup phase of the game, maybe it's price tag (at one point he was the most expensive player EVER), but Gareth Bale has been a bad investment for Real Madrid.

feck him and them.

Ajax with a shocking result so far. Erik ten Hag, May have just put himself back in contention for the job here at United next season.

White text
What's with you and these daft comments regarding United's next manager? It's going to be Ole, get on with it.

Hope Ajax win it, strange to think they're the side we outclassed in the Europa final a couple of years ago. Shows how stagnant we went after Jose's first season.
