If he joins United he's going to be first choice, that much is pretty obvious. He's got more chance of playing for the English team in the English league also. Southgate clearly rates him, I don't think there's any issue there.
The English league is totally different to German league, his physicality will come into it as well as his 1st touch etc, you cannot say he’s guaranteed to start because he’s not.

Why are so many obsessing over the fee and £100m? For a hugely talented, young and English player it is cheap. Look at Rooney, Ferdinand fees for example. If we have Sancho for 15 years and he is as successful as his talent suggests we would be talking about it as a bargain just as we have with other record fees for British players we have paid like Robson and Keane for example.
The only argument really is if it stops us from purchasing in other important areas this summer, which it shouldnt
No, its not cheap and this has been done to death.

At this point it would be an unprecedented deal, at least until Sancho plays as much first team football as MBappe did before his big move. He still has some games to play this season to match that.

Its only cheap in Football Manager

Whether it's 80 or 100 is really not important in the long run TBH. If he turns out as good as expect he will be worth double that in no time.
And thats the problem. Expectation.

Young players dont always get better. Some have a good season and struggle to follow it up. More young players fail to fulfil potential than fulfil it.

Therefore the lower the fee the lower the expectations and pressure, and more likely he can make it a good deal.

Why wouldnt PSG sell us a right winger if we stumped up enough cash? They gave Spurs Lucas Moura

Dortmund dont need to sell him anymore than PSG need to sell a player. In fact with FFP PSG probably have more of a need to sell
Who plays as a right winger for PsG apart from Mbappe? Do you think AdM would come back?

And is Lucas Moura the kind of winger we need? Regarding Dortmund, they always sell. They sold Dembele after one season.

Just name a few available good right wingers.

I’m interested to see if he can translate this form as well. As you say about the Bundesliga, their teams were put away pretty easily by PL sides, and we’ve been stung by Mkhi and Kagawa before. Even Batshuayi was banging them in over there. He looks like exactly the player we need on the right, but it’s all academic if he can’t do it against better players.
I dont think adapting to the PL would be a huge difficulty. Players from Bundesliga have been thriving here. Sane, De Bruyne, Firmino, Auba. Plus he has played in England before. Its a no brainer really.

The 'lets give it another year' and 'lets see how he develops' is exactly how we will miss the boat. If he has another season like he has or even better the other big clubs will be all over it and we could easily lose out. If there is a chance to get him this summer and the lad wants to come we need to take a risk and snap him up. Dithering wont get us anywhere.

Plus I don't see any benefits in actually waiting a year. The boy is a bona-fide world-class talent if I ever saw one. we have to get him or someone else will - it's that simple.

Say we miss out on the CL which could happen considering how tight it is, would he still be interested ? Tbh I'm on the "wait and see" stance because the German league isn't great judging by how easily Liverpool and Spurs dispatched their respective opponents who are the best teams in Germany.
We can't afford to hesitate. If he plays another year and gets even better his fee could double. While yes the Bundesliga isn't at it's strongest point, if it was that easy every player would be doing it - they aren't.

Salah might end up moving to Madrid and suddenly Lpool have a RW slot free, City might sell Mahrez and decide to to offer him a first team slot.

We have a great chance now, we really need a RW even for a squad role so we should go in for it. Yes it's a lot and it's risky but who cares? Not our money.

I'll just name right wingers because as you've already been told Sancho isnt more available than others. And unless I speak to all these players clubs I have no idea if they are available either.

Thorgan Hazard, Nicolas Pepe, Suso, Federico Chiesa, Brais Mendez, Cengiz Under, Thauvin, Politano, David Brooks, Angel Correa, Carlos Soler, Samuel Chuzwueze, Ferran Torres

David Brooks would be a good singing, but I don't think of him as a winger.

I believe you have never followed a transfer window involving Dortmund.

Dortmund always sell. They sold Dembele to barca after one season. They literally epitomize a selling club.

And regarding the wingers you mentioned, none of them appear to be good established ones. 2 of them failed in the PL. If we are to invest in prospects, better be the English guy.

I see the backlash has already started... predictable.

He was very good last night in his first start for England. Intelligent movement, good decision making, confident and got an assist. He made himself the best option for a pass so many times, which is exactly what we need.

We need a right winger, there are no better options available, but people would rather we go another season without one, or play Chong, who has shown nowhere near the level Sancho has.

No-one thinks he is the finished article or won't make mistakes, that's fine. The important thing is that he will provide a threat on the right and may turn into a world class player. Who cares about the fecking price? We are due a big transfer budget, or would you rather the be absorbed by the Glazers? The more important thing is getting the right wages.

If this transfer CAN happen, it MUST.

Easy there Monchi. Those are all decent players but for the price we are about to pay, need United quality. This boy ticks all the boxes.

Why would we go for any of those players when there is an English world class talent right there at the right price? I'd be fecking gutted if we signed some of those players you mentioned over Sancho to be honest with you mate.

Right now he would be the best right winger we've got by far. If he gets better then it's a bonus ( he will )

People are talking about physicality and worrying but he's not a kick and run player, if sonebody like Bernardo Silva can smash it as a wide player here, so can he.

Sancho's biggest attribute is actually his eye for a pass / decision making, but he has great balance/agility and acceleration to go with it. He's the type of player who would have slotted in perfectly under Guardiola perfectly, even more than Sterling arguably.

Seriously? Only Pepe, Chiesa are anywhere near that level. The rest of them are pretty average, or aren't wingers like we need.

Under is a forward, Brooks is a 10, Correa is a forward who's shoved wide (and poor). Sancho is head and shoulders better than all of them. You say the Bundesliga is poor but then mention players from Italy/France who are even worse.

We obviously wouldnt pay the same price as someone as hyped up as Sancho.

And most of them are very good players, he's had a better season than them of course. But I was asked to list right wingers that could be bought if we offered the right finances other than Sancho, presumably because the poster was saying nobody else is out there.

I listed 13 players who would improve us longterm.

Because Sancho would cost over 3 times as much? The same reason we sign all players that arent quite as good as the world's best player in a position

what a underwhelming list of wingers . apart from pepe potentially I don't see any real quality here. and Brooks isnt a winger.

You dont have to convince me, I think he's very good. I just need to see another season to be convinced that he'll keep up the amount of productivity he has this season.

I find it far more likely he wont be able to keep it up next season and will create and score less goals, leading to the hype dying down a little bit and the transfer fee as well. He'd still be a really good right winger and an expensive player but each would be toned down a little.

Yeah I'm sure you've watched them all play in those 5 minutes since you heard of them

Brooks is picked on the right. He's as much of a right winger as we play (Mata/Lingard)

First - it's not your money.
Second - If you want top quality, pay up.

Lots of us were laughing when city paid 50m for sterling. Look how good of a bargain that was.

You can't expect WC players for 30m

I don't think he would cost 3 times as much. Yes, he will cost significantly more but not 3 times, but in my opinion he's also got the best potential out of the lot so he will be worth it.

The majority of them are at least 1 step up over what we have and are good players.

Where did I say the bundasliga is poor? I think its slightly worse than the top 3 but not by much. And I didnt say they are as good as Sancho. I wasnt asked that question.

Well in that case since its not my money, I'm going to be absolutely livid if we dont offer £500 million for MBappe this summer.

You might be in that lots of us, I thought Sterling was a good player.

The people that done want us to sign him, who do they want? Bale and Costa are probably better players but I'd rather sign Sancho. Nicolas Pepe is another one but what's his ceiling?

Talk some sense mate.

If you wanna settle for mediocrity then feel free to hope that utd goes for one of the underwhelming wingers from your list whilst the next biggest English talent is swooped by another club.

This thread will be at 150+ by the end of August as nothing remotely happens but each tabloid builds it up for the summer.
Come September 1 he’s still at Dortmund.

Who’s with me?
So you reckon we won't have a right wingers for the 8th season running? Can't deal with this club if we don't buy one. We are run terribly. Hoping Ile will change that if he gets the job.

I'd prefer Joao Felix. Looks just as talented, if not more and a more intelligent player.

there's literally no reason for us to be shopping in the bargain bins when there's a generation talent performing at higher level already.

I believe you are pretty happy with where Utd is now? Fighting for 4th, not a force to reckon with in Europe.

Well I am not and hopefully the ones running the club aren't as well.

I dont think it takes a £100 million right winger for us to improve. We came 2nd last season without one.

Haven't seen him but his clips look impressive. There might be a number of reasons why we as a club might prefer Sancho. First, if Ole intends on using 433 long term, Sancho is a better option. Also, Sancho is English which I think is important to the club.
Furthermore, some of the arguments I'm seeing, as to why we shouldn't sign Sancho apply to Joao Felix as well.

Not a right wingers though. Sick to death of not having a right side. How do we go through the same thing again and again.
Fair point, but if we were to go with a diamond, Joao Felix would be ideal. If we are going to stick with 433, I'd go with Sancho. I'd be delighted with either.

Club is still here but you lying to yourself if you think we are doing in any way well. Disaster post Fergie. How is everyone not on board that it's time for the Glazers to put up or shut up. We can't magically compete without some serious investment this summer. Our squad doesn't touch the top teams.

Also mate just a note, people who point out their clubs flaws are just as good supporters hell probably better than people who are blind to the flaws. Nothing wrong with criticism.

On the other hand, his output could even be better next season and every club on the planet will want him in 2020 and then if he lights up Euros we could be looking at a world record fee for a 20 year old - which is fine if he's doing his stuff.. But then you think we could have signed him for 70 to 100 million which looks like a bargain suddenly. Some posters already made that point about Sterling. There isn't a person in a world that didn't think that his asking price was incredibly steep at the time and what a bargain he turned out to be. Point is, there will always be a degree of risk but at the end of the day, I think we can agree that he's worth that risk now. I'd rather we go for players with huge potential than don't to be honest with you.

More so with Joao Felix as he's playing in a significantly weaker league.

For me we simply cannot ignore it anymore. Every year same problem. We literally only attack down the left hand side. It makes games so.much harder for ourselves.

Look at the wolves game. I'd say about 10+ time I saw Pogba and Matic on the ball where they looked up to pass to the right wing/side and no one was there so they just had to turn around and pass it to the overcrowded left side.

Was a major flaw in that game as we couldn't stretch the play.
