Good player. Not technically good enough for us. You compare him to some of our former strikers and the gulf is laughable. He could work as a back up as he really proved he could come in and score goals in previous weeks but as a starter, no way. It’s bettee for him if he is a starter though so maybe it’s best he moves on.

I think we need to cut our losses with anyone who is hoping to jump on the gravy train and take advantage of us handing a massive contract to Sanchez. And anyone who isn't fully committed. We don't have a single player who is indispensable, not even De Gea. Lukaku certainly doesn't come close. I'd be in favour of rebuilding our team entirely quite frankly. Get rid of the high earners, buy some good young players on reasonable wages, and create a team that is not only talented but hungry to win trophies at United.

I believe we need to get radical in what we do. We've amassed a lot of mediocre players who are on wages that far exceed their talent. There are better teams than us around Europe that cost far less and play far better football. Our method of throwing loads of money at players who don't suit the way we want to play hasn't worked and isn't going to work. The fact we then keep handing them new contracts is rubbing salt in the wounds.

Dead right. Its time we had a reset. Including of the pay structure and age profile of players. Build the best, and hungriest young team that can dominate for 10 years. Buy young players who dream of playing for United, like Lozano for example, and not just for a retirement paycheck.

What a joker.. Which club abroad, that could afford a £50 million fee, would actually want him?

Danny Drinkwater plus the train fare and it's a deal.
we already haven one of those, he's called Fred.

Besides the last two times we got MF's from you we landed with Mata and Matic. His name doesn't begin with M - we can't have him.

So, a few days before Barcelona match his agent talks about Barcelona as a possible option.

Nice. Lock him to the bench and sell if there is any decent offer.

Being thick as shit seems to be a requirement for the modern Manchester United player.

I kinda like Rom, but i'd easily sell him if we could replace with a player who could do 10+ keepy uppies.

We should do this regardless of his statements. Good player, does not fit the way we should play.
Am aware of that (and that his chances to play for Barcelona are a little bit higher then mine).
It just pissed me more than it should seeing this shit coming out right before our biggest game of the season.

In all seriousness I can't see any upward career path from us for Lukaku. Who would challenge for trophies and have him as first choice striker? A strong forward who can get goals in the right setup but not nearly good enough for the very top. Get what we can and reinvest in hungry dynamic front players.
Jovic looks great. Timo Werner only has a year left on his deal.

Almost a reverse Di Maria. Has the desire and passion but not the footballing ability.

Sell him at 20% loss at the most and we'd be laughing.

Bayern bound I'm afraid.

I wouldn't mind trying to bargain with Milan for Piątek though, something I've thought about lately. We're still crossing plenty, he's a great header of the ball, got the right attitude, good finisher, great off-ball movement.

I would be amazed if he thinks he can play hardball with the club in that he is that in demand, under Ole. If he has any awareness he knows he has no future here as main man

He misses way too many sitters a top striker should be dispatching. Just in the last few weeks he missed from yards out against Arsenal when he hit the bar and missed a free header against Wolves. Both those goals could have changed the match, especially the Arsenal one.

Although his long term future isn't with us, ideally I would keep him for another season.

Who does he expect to come in for him though? He's not good enough for the most elite clubs like Madrid, Barca, Bayern, Juve or PSG. He will struggle to find a club in the next tier (Athletico, Dortmund etc) that can afford him.

I'd love to see a chance conversion rate stat for him. Never seen a striker consistently miss so many easy chances, it seems like 2-3 per game.
He's missed 14 big chances. So no he's not missing 2-3 per game.

The absolute neck on him:lol::lol::lol:

Honestly, United should use the opportunity and sell. Don't let him play against Barcelona, leave prospective buyers with the image of him scoring two against PSG.

This guy doesn't take his chances in two crucial league games in Arsenal and Wolves. We are now having almost no chance of top four and he dares to have his agent mouthing off.

Talking about trophies, he had his opportunity to win the FA Cup last season, but he was saving himself apparently for the World Cup:rolleyes:

All players who are distracted by contracts or their futures should not be playing especially against Barcelona. Use the youth players who will give their all. We are most likely losing but at least we lose with players who are interested and will give their all.

I don't know where he gets that confidence from but Everytime I read his interviews, he always sounds like he's ready to take it all. All talks no walk. Compare to strikers had played for United in the last 20 years, Lukaku is not even fit to lace their boots.

We can count on his inflated ego though, clubs will bite it I'm sure. The only reason we don't sell him now because club needs to invest in other positions first

Don't see the problem with what he said. The guy is a guaranteed 20 goal a season striker (nowhere near as bad as people make out on here - you would swear he was Heskey going by posts on here) so I wouldn't be surprised if another big club would go in for him.
