defensive fullbacks? I wouldn't call Shaw defensive... Wan Bassaka is defensive no doubt but he'll provide us the strength in defense that we've lacked. We've leaked 40 odd goals while Liverpool and City have conceded less than half. Felix is someone who will pretty much walk into the Real team if he gets bought. I don't see how he's less of a player for us. Unconvincing defensive midfielder? Who would you rather recommend whose dynamic and defensive at the same time? I agree that Martial and Rashford need to do better and as far as top level experience? What have we achieved with having top-level experience? Mhiki? Zlatan? Sanchez? Mata? Fred?
Shaw is defo better in defence than he is in attack, he is not the kind of FB that runs a wing alone. With Wan-Bissaka on the other side in a system that does not use wingers at all, it does not look good imo. Liverpool and City have conceded less than us, but they have also scored more than us.
The midfield, although could be made to work, looks unbalanced on paper. Neves might possess a great passing range, but I feel he is not very assertive for the role he'd have to play in that midfield. Someone like Rodri would provide much more solidity at the base of midfield. Bruno might also be too deep and wide there unless you are going with a 4-2-2-2, then width could be a problem.
Martial and Rashford are no proper strikers, are a bit inconsistent, and I don't think a 19-year old from the portuguese league having his first full season is the guy to support them and be the main fulcrum in the team.
