Very good player for us, but if he's signed with them then I don't expect to see him again in United shirt.

Because he's the best option for that position/role in the side.

It's not like Herrera won't give us 100% even if he's off.
I agree he's best option but you can't know what's in the back of his mind once he's signed with someone else. He could become more careful in tackles, more conservative with running, not talking about great dip in play, but dip big enough to change what he brings to the table. Once he commits to another team he's not fully commited to United and his playing days here should be over.

I didnt say he is more of a leader than Keane, I was saying he has a healthier manner about the way he goes about things than someone like Keane. And thats leadership too just different.
Ex team mates are full of praise for Keane as a captain, player and as a man.

Listen to the likes of Scholes, Giggs, Becks, Neville talk about him.

I'd just leave the argument there, there's nothing about Herrera that compares favourably with Keane.

Because he's more high profile and was their captain. Plus who has the balls to say something bad about him? None of them

Oh well. He'll just be remembered as an midfielder that achieved very little with us during our barren years ie Fellaini etc

He can be very good, but he’s too inconsistent. Poor signing by PSG imo considering how much they’re paying him.

Funny how there is no mention of a potential Herrera move from anyone at PSG or in the French sporting press. Looks like his agent is doing a good job of winding up the media to get his client a better deal.

I don't see why they want to pay him 200k a week, but I can't blame him for accepting. I don't think we should be paying him that much though. He can be replaced, relunctantly so, but he can be.

Adios Herrera. I doubt he's injured really, just not in the right frame of mind to play. He'll announce soon that he signs with PSG and then will come back to the squad after saying he's a great professional and looking to finish the season with United as best as he can

He's never worth 200k a week. But good move if he wants to win some guaranteed silverware regardless of the standard.

Hopefully triggers a major rejig of our midfield, again.

I’ve lost all respect for him after a move like that, goodbye and good riddance.

I can't help but feel like PSG are doing it to spite us for knocking them out the champions league.
Either that or they want to start bringing in players with a better mentality, which is Herreras strongest asset really.

Free transfer isn't it? An experienced player like Herrera would cost at least £30 mil in todays market so they are saving all of that.

I love him and he's my favorite player but not worth 200k a week at all. Good luck for the future.

Damn, one of our most reliable and productive players if rumors are true. Huge loss for United and leaves us in a difficult situation to find a replacement. N’Dombele, Rabiot, are a few names that has been mentioned and they would be great addition to our team if they don’t struggle to adapt to the premier league.

I wonder though, whether we can go a bit offensive in his replacement and get a more attack minded midfielder rather than a box to box. Eriksen would be a great addition, but I can’t see him leaving Spurs for United unless we offer a ridiculous amount of wage or gotten Pochettino.

Announced 2 hrs before a crucial CL knock out against Barca?

Wonder why this is. Either PSG trying to cause issues because they can't handle being beaten by our reserves or an Abu Journalist trying to çause a stir.

No way United would announce this on today of all days. Pathetic either way.

To me we should have rewarded him when we won the EL and he was given MOTM and won the POTY. Even if we had just lengthened his contract by another couple of years, he probably would have been happy with that at a bit of a pay rise. Then he would have been here until he is near 32 and if we let him go then, fine. Except we, I think presumed he would just wait and wait. It was reported the other day that we told him we had taken the year option by post. Surely we aren't that impersonal?
Yeah this is the result of piss poor planning as usual from the club. We've shown him no loyalty or reward for his performances and commitment and this is the outcome.

Meanwhile we extended contracts for Fellaini, Young, Smalling, Jones. Gave Matic a contract. Waited too long with De Gea contract too. Just a mess.

Fair play to him. Even though he has been one of the best players (perhaps the best after Shaw) since Ole took over, I'm kind of happy to see him leave. Not good enough for a starting place next year, although he could have been a really good squad player to have.

Forces our hand to invest in the midfield, so while we lose depth and a valuable squad player we now have to find a good midfielder to fill the hole.
