Fûck top 4. Meaningless accomplishment and overrated as hell and we’re not winning the CL next season anyway. We’re already stupid rich so feck the money. At least in Europa, it’s a good chance to play youth and realistically win a decently notable trophy. Don’t reply to me.

1. We are not finishing Top 4, our form have dipped massively.

2. We are not beating Man City, they are far better team than us.

3. Man City has been the best team in the league so they deserve to be champion. Liverpool has had lots of luck and jammy wins this season.

4. Forget about Abu Dhabi money, to be fair Man City have been excellent and deserve the title this season. We used to be like Man City where we were the richest club in the league by far.

Hence, purely in football term, Man City should be the champions and we are not TOP 4 team. Man City, Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal are better than us. I hate to say this but this is the reality.

I actually think Liverpool HAVE been the best most entertaining team this season and deserve to win the league after coming close so many times..

Losing out on top 4 is worth it to see all Liverpool's efforts this season mean nothing.. they probably won't be in this position again for years.. the meltdown will be epic in Scouseland
Hmm... Man City has been the best team by far. Liverpool has been riding on jammy wins and lots of luck this season

Jeez, cop onto yourselves lads. Why would we give a feck about any other team than ourselves? So you'd want to lose the derby because you can't "cope" with a bit purile "banter" from colleagues, friends, family should Liverpool (deservingly, if they pip pep) win the title? We're united, we have class.

The only time I've been torn between wanting us to do anything other than win was earlier this season, at the end of the frauds reign, when it seemed a win would prolong his stay, and our misery. Could not give a feck about any other team.

This is Manchester, we do things differently here.

Whats the point of top 4 qualification for CL when we have no chance of winning or even putting up a strong fight against the top teams? Cl qualifications is just lining up Glazer's pockets with more money since we are still not buying top tier players with it.

If City don’t win against Spurs it might not even matter. Honestly can’t see Liverpool dropping any more points. I had a feeling going into the games against Spurs and Chelsea that they had to drop points somewhere.

On the bright side if Liverpool win the league, Pep would be under a shit load of pressure. You’d just need stay away from a tv and take pride in the fact that you’ve seen United do it so many more times than the Liverpool fans giving you shit.

Let’s see the situation after this week’s round of games first. City need to beat Spurs and Cardiff need to take some points off Liverpool. And of course we need to beat Everton.
This would be a perfect Easter Weekend

It'd be just like us to beat city, hand the title to liverpool then lose to Chelsea and draw with Cardiff and still miss out on top 4.

My view is that we should do our best to beat city and its up to them to beat us and to win the title. The only difference is that if they do beat us, I will be way less sad about it than I normally would.

At the end of the day the players, and solskjaer probably most of all, want to play CL football next season.

I suppose so? Don't feel any shame admitting it. I'm not going to sit there cheering City on to beat us though, obviously. That would be weird.

Although I think City will feck up against Spurs anyway so it doesn't matter, Liverpool have won it.

You should be seriously concerned at the fact that it is basically thoughts like these that set you on path to becoming like Everton.

Have some pride, ffs.

We will struggle to beat Everton on Sunday, let alone City.
I'm at the point now where I don't care anymore who wins the league, if Liverpool win it then they deserve it and maybe the club needs to experience this. We cant become the '90s' Liverpool and slide into mediocrity after years of success. Changes need to happen.

I think we will beat Man City. Hand scousers the title then Draw at Huddersfield and lose to Cardif finishing 5th. It's how we are. Makes me sick.

I do not remember 95/96 sesaon, so I can not pretend that I know your position. Gerrard's pass to the title for Chelsea was something that I remeber but If I am right then there was nothing to play for. And Yes, I wanted to lose that game and I am not proud of myself for that. So I can accpet and understand man united fans who would rather lose that game instead of handing the title to the arms of their arcirivals. But I think that these kind of situations are tests of characters whether You are actually supportes of MU/ LFC or haters of MU/LFC.

Utd fans wanting Liverpool to not win the league won't turn us into Everton.
Wanting to lose (a derby game no less) and possibly lose out on CL qualification to make it happen does.

You are never as much in our shadow as when you choose to sit in it yourself. It's embarrassing to watch.

 We're not finishing top 4, if I really thought that was the match that would decide it I may very well feel different, but it isn't and won't be.

Hilarious to see how some of your lot talk on here now.

We've lost 5 of the last 7 games. The wheels have come off and the only ambition left is to try and win the last 5 games so we start next season in the right frame of mind. If we are going to just stumble through the last 5 games, there is no point in helping Liverpool win the league by beating City. It wouldn't be case of "wanting" to lose, more not as bothered as normally would be. I want to beat Liverpool more than I want to beat City any time we play them. In truth, what I want most is for us to start playing well, because that's what will make me more confident for next season, not results.
When there is no title or cup to play for, what is most important for next season?
a) performance in the last 5 games, regardless of the result.
b) result in the last 5 games, regardless of the performance.

We’ve fecked ourself into this position where we can’t have it all basically. Given the respective run-ins, Liverpool look odds on to win the league now. Ole claimed we need to win 4 of the next 5 to win the league, and theoretically, if we beat Everton and Chelsea, we’re very likely to do that. Then Liverpool are also now favourites for the CL. The realities that it will be very hard to stop them winning one major trophy this season.

Hell no, what kind of mentality is that? I want us to pick up every point possible to play in CL.

Feck Thursday night football.

It's a bit weird mentality this anyway. I can't really get behind United losing for whatever reason. It feels it goes against the point of being a supporter.

Definitely not.
I might be in the minority but I don't care if Liverpool win the league over City. At least they are a proper club and business and haven't bought the title.

This with bells on. It’s hard to read some of the rubbish on here. We should want to win every match regardless of its implications for other teams.

I’d rather choke myself on a dead donkeys dick than do anything to make Liverpool’s path to the title any easier.

I grew up in the 70s and 80s and that’s justification enough for me.

With that mindset, what's the point of anything at the club anymore? You've basically given up on the club entirely, reading that post.

If we ever threw a game we should be banned from the league. We should strive to win every game, regardless who finishes top. We cant be any more embarrassed than the 'Aguerrrrooooo' moment and letting City pinch it off us anyhow. Liverpool are going to win it one day anyroad. Do we throw games every season to stop them?

I don't give a shit who win the league. In fact Liverpool winning the league could become a positive thing to our club as wake up call to the club from the youngest supporter to the disgraceful owners of the club.

I don’t understand the mentality of anyone who would take their own club losing just to stop another club.

I hate Liverpool, but not enough to want our own team lose. If they win the league congrats they deserve it, just makes me more desperate for us to reach the top again
