I just think it would be a waste of money because after 2yrs you would still need to buy another RB to rotate with Dalot.
Not really. He's 28. Young's still here at 34. Obviously the fact that young is still a first choice is a failure of long term planning but if we were talking about him as Shaw's sub thatd be ok.

So...if said clause exists and when it kicks in Ed then negotiates a pay rise, it has nothing to do with Ed?
First of all - not IF - they exist, for every single United-player. They have existed for 15 years. But in the World of football, every single player wants a payrise - regardless of C.L or not. Yes - Ed can say no to these players, and lose them for free. But they would have asked for that payrise anyway.

He's had a comparatively bad season but hes still a quality player who'd dramatically improve our right side going forward. The age is good as well. He's not a direct threat to dalots long term future like wan bissaka would be.
Threat to our future ? So basically, what you are saying - we shouldn't sign Wan-Bissaka because he might turn out to be better than Dalot ? :)

Trippier would come in as a player from the north west and an established England international. I think he'd add a bit of something to the squad.

The obvious point that I'm making is if you've got two players the same age competing for the same position then one or both will likely become disaffected soon enough. When rashford and martial were competing for the left wing it wasn't an ideal scenario.

This is Spurs we're dealing with he won't be cheap, anyway I would prefer we sign someone 25/26.
I'm not sure. There's been scuttlebutt in the papers about spurs being willing to sell him and a few others. Kyle walker-pieters is coming through, maybe they fancy him for next season?

Trippier is brainless and does some weird actions. Not the RB I want to see.

Trippier has been Ashley Young level bad this season. Something is seriously wrong with our scouting if we're pursuing him. My Spurs supporting friend has had enough of him.

I’m not his biggest fan, and he’s now behind Rashford, so makes sense. For a squad player, he doesn’t fit the profile. Would want someone with experience though, and I’m a big advocate of bringing Josh King home.

If we can get £55-65m for him we should snap the other club's hands off

Anyone else not able to see these tweets?
I see them with no problem. Here it goes:

-Manchester United will listen to offers for Romelu Lukaku in summer rebuild https://t.co/vfRBsDeCHn

-Wilfried Zaha admits he's ready to leave Crystal Palace as top clubs prepare bids https://t.co/2FGXnmPZ96

-Being reported by Josep Pedrerol (usually very close to Florentino Pérez) that Gareth Bale has told Real Madrid that he wants to STAY at the club.

Let's be honest. We'd be lucky to get £50m without subsidizing his wages.
Nah, he's a good striker and would be a great pick up for a Valencia or Inter. The sort of ambitious clubs who are looking to consistently break into the top 4 in their leagues. He puts chances away and can usually be relied upon to get 25+ goals per season.

Those sort of strikers are not exactly ten a penny, so I think we should easily get £55m+ for him, though the wages might well be an issue. I guess it depends on if he is ambitious enough to take a paycut in order to be first choice elsewhere. He strikes me as the type who could do that tbh

I think he's been unlucky in the last couple of games in regard to how it appears Rashford and Martial are favoured over him despite playing worse, not that he's been good but I think it's clear that he's not a favourite of Ole's.

Rightfully deserves the door, how he's even a professional without a first touch is a joke. He will never have the ability to play in a technical team.

Martinez should be knighted for whatever sourcery he did to Lukaku at the world cup
