If we sell Lukaku does that mean we're gonna buy another striker or will that money go towards a RW? I havent seen us linked to any strikers. Are we gonna rotate Rashford/Martial up top?

Sensible.
Not really sensible to be listening to offers for your best striker is it? Especially not when theres areas like CB, RB, RW and DM/CM that need improving. If we do sell Lukaku a replacement is unlikely to come in. Can forget about challenging for anything with Rashford upfront.

We've been linked with Felix who's playing up front. Although I don't think it's a good idea to get rid of our only really experienced striker unless we've got another experienced one coming in, I wouldn't be opposed to selling him.

Wouldn't be overly confident in Rashford and Martial rotating. There's no aerial threat, Rashford is still learning and Martial couldn't be arsed moving.

We won’t challenge for anything relying on Lukaku.

Ole is not a fan so I can see him leaving since he is not been so great for us . Also his agent has already commented that big teams like Real,Juve and Barca are looking to sign him so I am expecting a big fee for him

None of the big teams will touch him . Bayern will most probably sign Werner .At most Inter might go for Lukaku when and if Icardi leaves . Juventus might fancy him if we are offering him on loan . Considering his wages I feel we will end up taking a big hit on his transfer fees .

Ya you're probably right about where he ends up. I think he's far better than people think though wouldn't he heartbroken to see him go. If we find ourselves in a position where we have a system that's creating loads of chances and flowing well but not having a striker that can finish them we will regret it. But I trust solskjaer

We actually do need a proper striker immediately . If we plan on winning anything in the near future then a good striker should be the first name on the wanted list . This is the time scouts should prove their worth and find a good striker . Rashford is a huge hit and miss so going with him as 1st choice in coming season is a disaster waiting to happen . I don't even mind us going in for Dybala since till last season he was a good finisher so a good false nine finisher can work out in a new tactical set up . If we can't find a good striker then we are doomed in the coming season .

Agree. Rashford is very talented but for me should be at the 20-30 game a season stage, not the leading man for united.

The obvious point that I'm making is if you've got two players the same age competing for the same position then one or both will likely become disaffected soon enough. When rashford and martial were competing for the left wing it wasn't an ideal scenario.
Whereas if Dalot is stuck on the bench for 3-4 seasons behind someone like Tripper he wont be ? Competition is good - Dalot will good more than enough game-time regardless.

Will listen to offers but will hear crickets instead.

I have a feeling Ole will try Sanchez as a striker as there’s even less chance of getting rid of him.

Would like to see Dybala in place of Lukaku but I think Ole likes Rashford down the middle.

We would also have the clubs pet Martial back to sitting out at times if Rashford and him compete for the left wing spot if a good new striker comes in. Both players won't be happy. Both will be on 200k plus a week and worrying about national squad placings as well.

If Juve have enquired about Lukaku, a deal with Dybala makes too much sense.

True, but Lukaku has zero aerial threat too for a big guy. He can't win headers when it's pumped long to him and he is piss poor at attacking crosses

Yikes, we could end up in a situation where we're getting rejected by Zaha because we don't have CL football, I could see Ole going for him, as he is such a SAF signing (obviously he did actually sign him).

I know people don't like/rate him, but he is definitely one of the best players we let go for peanuts during our madcap transfer setup post SAF.

That’s a nice wage he’s on. Don’t see many clubs offering him that
He was on 200K, there's no mention of him earning 250K since he was at United until rumors of him leaving United, all of sudden he's on 250K, I am sure he'll be on 300K by tomorrow.

Still a lot for a squad player.

We should be happy if we get €60m.
As ever the wages will scupper it, no Italian team will cover it all, no Spanish team will want him, and any English team who want him will be below us, so he won't go.

We'll end up picking up half his wages, and comprise who comes in, or he'll stay.

Won’t it be 25% less if we don’t get the CL? Funny how the journalists figures change when they need to.

Lukaku is sensible enough to take a pay cut and get back to playing as the main man I feel.

We shouldn't be paying that much but Chelsea were probably willing to pay him 200k+.

If we can recover a good chunk of the fee as we did with Di Maria it would be okay I guess if he's not in the manager's long-term plan. Better to re-invest it in a player who does fit in the system. :)

Inter seem to be interested in lukaku, with rumours of conte going there, it actually makes sense. we should offer him for a straight swap for skriniar or to napoli for K2. Good deals to be had, sadly we dont have someone capable of getting em done. Biggest rebuild of the club and we have a clown as CEO.

I agree. He's at the age where he needs to play regularly, and he knows that chances of this happening is fairly low if he remains at Utd next season.

It'd be interesting to see who we are replacing him with, we talk a lot about bringing a new RW but no.9 is also a top priority and seems to have overlooked in the transfer discussion

Great news if true. Considering his value in the transfer market, his lack of ability or suitability to the way SOlkjear wants to play, for me he should be along with Sanchez and his crazy contract, the first names out of the door
