Barella has 1 goal and 2 assist in 31 Seria A games this season. He's supposed to be quite attacking and creative too.

Is that really how far we have sunk?
He was an exciting prospect but his development has stalled somewhat in the last couple of seasons.

He's still young and there might still be a player in there, but it is true to say that we are not likely to be shopping at the top end of the market this summer.

I usually take their stories with a grain of salt, but what they're saying is hardly surprising.
Yeah well even I could have written that, hardly an 'exclusive'

"I would love to sign Ronaldo"- Lingard

Well he would probably be available if we wanted to bring the Old Man "home" for one last hurray! probably the marketing, merch sales etc will pay for his transfer fee and wages alone..

With Ole at the wheel, having played with Ronnie, is it more possible now then anytime since Fergie left? I think so..

I think Ronaldo having won Serie A.. there's not much left for him in Italy.. he can keep repeating winning Serie A but it will add nothing to his legacy.

The timing of our interest means bugger all, he was always going to Real over us if he was to leave Spurs.
Then why did we speak to his agent. Point is we don't have a plan on how to approach things .

Whenever I see things like this you have to wonder. It's not as if he's an unknown quantity and therefore requires extensive scouting. If they haven't conducted the requisite scouting on this guy by now then I've lost all hope in our scouting team.

United scouts watched the game last night and thought Barcelona's #10 could be a player worth keeping an eye on.

Yep. What benefit will they get from one live match? If he has a stinker, is he ruled out forever? Likewise, if he dominates and scores a goal, do we put a bid in?

I rate him pretty highly and he's probably worth VVD money, but not £100m+

They're only going by Caf rules, our scouts. If you play bad, you're crap; if you play well, well, you're Declan Rice.

Lingard told the Mirror: 'I would love to sign Cristiano Ronaldo. He has been one of the best players in the world over the last decade. He has been here before so he would slot right back in.
I can see it, I can, honestly, Ronaldo coming back to play with likes Lingard and Lukaku and then some. Yeah, that is what he wanted his whole life.
Shut the f**k up Lingard, keep moonwalking, that is what you are good at.

Well what can a scout tell Ole about this lad that he doesnt already know? its not like he is an unknown player with limited number of games... we either dont like his style or we do but his level is well known i think

I don't think I've watched a full game involving him but is he really as good as people say he is or is it people just looking at FIFA rankings and deciding he's world class?
Don't have a clue mate, barely watched any Napoli games.

That's what I'm worried about...

Obviously the scouts know what they're doing but some people (not you) are on here are banging on about him like they watch him week in, week out and he's the best CB in the world.

How much should a 28 year old CB cost in this market? Bearing in mind that CB's don't fair too well once they reach over 30 and also with the pace of the PL to factor in.
