We should sack him and give it all to sign the Ajax manager or Nuno Santo.

He's been left a complete mess and it would be too big a job for most managers. If he's having self doubt himself he should do what's good for the club and let anothet more experienced man take the reigns.

I'd love Ole to build a new empire but the size of the project is huge, this is like the club have erased all of Sir Alex's good work and we're back to 1986.

I could honestly say he could sell or let go of everyone bar about three players and he'd be justified in his decision.

We're in a terrible state.

Mourinho put us in this situation. He bought these players, he had 3 years to get it right. He left a mess
Agree, not the point being made though. You could argue Moyes and LVG put us in the position when he said it.

Is the right man to rebuild United? Has he implemented any style of play or team Structure? Has he improved any players? Does he seem like he a has a clear vision of what he wants to do?

It's no to all of the above for me.

I can't defend our terrible form, but our season went down the drain as early as when we lost to Arsenal, or drew to Chelsea. In fact there are probably many points you could highlight and say, that's where our season ended. Today sucks but it had been coming, and we shouldn't blame the one guy who gave us the chance in the first place.
So now we have the reverse of the famous dynamic and Ole takes credit for the victories and the players take the blame for the loses!

Jamie Redknapp sees it. Shame not many others do.
He definitely didn't. This actually really wound me up, as he quoted 2 teams that have DOFs buying the players. The transfers should not be down to Ole, just the profile. This is literally the set up of the two clubs quoted.

To me, nothign really changes. Once again I am surprised at the sheer amount of people having a go at him for daring to raise the bar and giving us the chance to dream. He shoudln't have done PSG like that... otherwise we wouldn't have gotten embarrased by Barca (same way they did the mighty liverpool). He shouldn't have gone on that run and given us some hope at top 4, only to falter on the last day and have so many people turn on him and question his credentials.

Look for me i'm still going to give him at least one year, two real transfer windows with his own clear strategy. Of course, if we drop to midtable or lower by Christmas he will most likely walk, but he still deserves a chance imo. Whats the worse he can do, a worser summer window than our last 3 managers?

Anyone against Ole at this point in time should simply stop supporting the club now.

I can't keep count of the times I've said this, but here I go again: no one in the world would've done any better with this garbage squad. We haven't bought a decent RM/RW in the last 8 years. We've been lacking in the RB and CB areas for about the same time. What do you expect? Ole is no magician. Just shut up and give the man time.
OK mate, we'll all take your advice and shut up. Thanks.

I think we should've stuck to the original plan and waited until the end of the season before giving Ole the contract. The moment he got that contract the players stopped playing for him and downed tools once they realised they've done enough to win him the contract.

We appointed him far too early as we were caught up in the hype and giddiness of Paris.

But as they say, hindsight is a wonderful thing.
It doesn't make sense, but how else do you explain winning 10 league games on the bounce, progression in Europe (beating tournament favourites PSG in the process) and generally playing like world beaters on steroids, to offering up that absolute horror show we saw this afternoon and in the weeks leading up to it?

There is something fundamentally wrong with our current squad of players. I don't know what it is, but Jose was convinced something was amiss and Ole seems to share that sentiment. Neville, Keane, Rio, Scholes and a whole host of football pundits have all, at one point or another, questioned the attitude and commitment of our players, some even question their integrity. There simply must be some truth in it.

I got full Moyes vibe from him when the camera showed him like that during the game.

Felt like Moyes was the one managing us or something from that look.

The look of someone who doesn't have a clue what to do to make the team win in the game.

The minute is clear if anyone wanted to watch this full scene on any full matches site.

The players were definitely praised when we played well.
Ole probably could've handled this poor run differently/better, maybe anyway.
But the players deserve to take the blame for this season, they've had two managers and for the most part, struggled to put the effort in under both.
People can slate Ole, and thats perfectly reasonable. But I think if he were to leave, most/all other managers would have the same troubles.
Take Poch as an example (since hes pretty much the most requested manager) hes struggling right now with an injury hit squad after a great champions league night like us, I think he'd have had a poor run in with this squad.
I think sometimes on this forum we do put it a bit too much on our manager, probably because just a few years ago we had the best one of all time.

He said it after signing a whole new team of players for a vast fortune of money and making them play worse than Ole has this season. So no, its all him + Woodward

Again no ones denying he was at fault. The club more so though if you're being honest. Its always been the club in reality

I don't think anyone is saying what you imply in your first point. Most of us see it as a dead cat bounce after Mourinho got launched. Chelsea had a similar one when they got rid of Mou after he left in similar circumstances.

My point of view is that Ole looks well out of his depth. He lacks the tactical know how and simply the gravitas to be the manager of United. The nice guy persona soon lost its appeal and he now cuts a Moyes like figure in his interviews - startled, a deer in the headlights.

I think if we can get someone like Poch in the summer then sentiment needs to go out of the window.

Am I right in reading Ole himself doesn't know what style we might implement for next season ?
No it's a perfectly logical thing to assume which strangely many fans seems to miss on this forum. Klopp identified the way Liverpool wanted to play and worked off it, Pep and Poch did the same hence they are the first, second and third best teams in the country.

Ole has tinkered around in accordance to the threat of the opposition, Mourinho did the same and got blasted why should Ole be exempt from criticism ? LVG was bitter but he was right, Ole is playing mostly defensive football with a counter attack which some people here deem as attacking football ? We sit deep and hit teams on the break, if this doesn't work there's nothing else we can offer.

Im all for revolutionising the club, if Ajax do well in the UCL I don't see why Erik Ten Hag shouldn't be s candidate for a managerial role. He's proven more than Ole and offers something to build upon.

Ole has to change the whole environment. It is incredible how much blame he gets here when we've seen these players for years.
He has to inspire mediocre and terrible players to play above their level. I do think these players tries their best for us, but the lack of genuine quality makes any motivational work from the manager mostly obsolete.
He has to motivate our better players due to lack of professionalism and mental strength. Some of them doesn't want to play for the club, and think they are too good to take responsibility in the team. Mourinho worked these players to remedy this problem, and eventually they downed tools and got him fired, and Solskjaer is faced with the task of motivating players who really shouldn't need it, to just turn up and show some pride about the club.

We've got a squad consisting of underperforming and unprofessional good players, and hardworking players with not enough quality. On top of that the squad consist of old players, fringe players that should have been sold already. Then you have fans who'll complain if Ole is negative and if Ole is positive. If he is looking to build for the future and want time, they'll say he makes excuses. If he says the current players are good enough to compete next season, they'll say he is a unrealistic yes man.

Until Ole arrived, from Mourinho to Carrick to Pogba to Rashford, the whole atmosphere was a shambles and full of negativity. People attached all that to Mourinho and expected everything to be just fine when he left, Ole came in and they were "proven right". Lo and behold the terrible culture and atmosphere was not only due to the manager, and actually still exists inside Old Trafford without Mourinho. This is what needs to change. People are now saying Ole is incapable of changing anything, knowing full well you can't change that sort of environment over night. Ole is probably the only one seemingly positive about our future, and he'll need that to be the reality for everyone on his side, for him to do anything. He has to feel very alone and so alienated inside that atmosphere, pretty much unable to properly change it from the inside.

I think Ole is a young and talented coach, and has some interesting qualities. I can say the same for McKenna as well. If they are to work at this club they need to be properly backed to make the right adjustments above just what happens in training and in the dressing room. Even if we get another manager in now, like Poch, the same thing definitely applies. We have to make sure good, knowledgable people are in charge over a long enough period of time to change the culture and environment to something resembling other top clubs. Scratch that, just other clubs. Besides the money, we perform badly on so many levels.

Honestly, I knew Ole was not going to turn it around when our performance levels dropped, I watched that and knew the season was over, I've seen it before with these players. Only blissfully ignorant knee-jerk top reds, trolls and the top of the line media-consumer fans could possibly fall in the trap of now blaming Ole for what we all knew was coming at some point.

Obviously there are doubts about Ole's managerial pedigree and it is founded in some truth, but there is no need to let that fear or doubt further complicate what has been apparent to see for everyone. The glaring simplicity in the minds to those comparing Ole to Moyes is staggering, the lack of context... Some people genuinely think that making that comparison, like if history is repeating itself again, is some grand discovery of genius theory. They even present it as if that opinion is the solution.

He is keeping it real in the interviews. I feel like he can't really win here, either he sounds startled, or he starts sounding delusional. Or he starts throwing players or board under the bus. He chose the most neutral response, which is accepting reality for what it is, mathematically we are now a europa club next season. It's time to look forward not play defiant mind games with the press or fans.

How many people would actually advocate for him leaving at the end of the season? Just to make this clear, this is NOT his fault. I'm not blaming him for this shit show. He's not the problem, but i'm not sure whether he's the solution. Should the people at the top just say "feck it" and get it over with now and get someone more established (Pochettino?). I know, i know, we've been down that path with the more established manager in Van Gaal and Jose and it didn't work, but i'm not sure if this will either.

The problems run deeper at this club, but i'm skeptical on whether Ole can be the man to sort it...

Since SAF retired United are averaging 70 points a season, that includes a 2nd place from Jose, without it, the average would be a lot less.

In that period United have had 4 managers with difference ideas and different experience levels, but none have them have come close to winning the league.

A win in the last game will means Ole's first campaign ends with a tally of 69.

Point being, whoever the managers is the results have remained mostly the same. The manager is not the problem at the club.

People give this 'new manager bounce' far to much credit. You cannot perform the way our players did for the first couple of months of Ole's reign unless you possess the ability to do so in the first place.

Nothing wrong with having concerns though. The squad is poor, but do you think Ole is the man to fix this? I’m not convinced he can. When it comes to buying the calibre of player we need, will they want to come play under Ole? We’re in for a rough summer imo, signings will be underwhelming.
For me, he is the right man. Simple reason for this is he's a fan of the club in the first place. He wants to see the squad work hard and play football the same way it used to back in the good old days. Of course, I might me wrong in the end, but if he has the balls to get rid of the dead wood, he'll AT LEAST lay the foundations of a great United squad be it for himself or for his successor, something that wasn't done by any of his predecessors.

Of course they have the ability to do so but that is just more damning on Ole. He's completely failed to arrest the slide and even get a fraction of that early form from the players. I can only guess that his set up is Micky Mouse behind the scenes and the players have completely lost faith. Remember the reports of him taking the players to The Cliff to show teach them about the good old days which supposedly was met with bemusement from the players. It's seems so reminiscent of Moyes and how the players just thought he was too small for the job.

I am happy that the shit opinions here dont reflect the majority of the United fans.

By now, everyone should understand that the problem runs deeper than the manager. Its way up to the top, the manager, staff and players. Major rebuild is key.

Getting rid of OGS is the solution? Really?

We might have shit years to come, but now is certainly not the time to change manager again. None of us knows if Ole can be the right fit for the changes who has to come. He might be or he might not be.

The problem for me with people waiting to sack him now is because its so damn gullible. Have you guys ever build something? You fail, you succeed, you make adjustment, you go again. It takes time!

Especially if you try to build something from materials gathered by other people, that are not good enough to build what you want to build.

Where did you see that?
Saw a tweet quoting Ole saying something along the lines of not having a particular style in place because of certain factors like player personal, opposition set-ups and so forth.
More of a overall attacking mentality than a defining style.

The manager is not the main problem. No matter which manager is here they will all have a hard time. It is the club that is the problem, the owners, Woodward, whoever does the transfer and contract negotiations. The whole club including the stadium is looking like it has seen better days.

The only way out of this is to buy 5 of the best 18 years old out there and get Ole to bed them in. So that by start of 2020 season we still won't be in CL but will have a young hungry team to start aiming for top 4 again.
