I watched this happen at the game today, and could see it.

In my opinion, what happened today was the reality of a multi-millionaire footballer who thinks he is much better than he really is; and who lives in a fantasy world (literally), meeting the harsh realities from the very people who pay his wages.

Yes, the guy shouting the abuse is probably not the sharpest tool in the box, and he is not an icon like the guy he was shouting the abuse to (nor does he need to be!) - although he is a paying customer, and has every right to say what he wants. Don't judge, unless you have spent week in, week out watching (and paying a lot of money for) the absolute garbage that is now Manchester United as a football team.

But it was reality, and if you actually listen to what he said at the beginning of the clip, regarding instagram, etc. then it is actually very true. Pogba cares far more about his image, and reputation than he does about the club he is playing for.

Pogba's problem, is that he simply does not live up to the hype HE himself creates.

Personally, I think he is a virus in the club that we should remove as soon as we can, and to hear people on this forum talking about 'building a team around him', is actually frightening, and would equate to building your house on marsh land.

as said I look forward to see Stoke win the treble and to see England win the WC.
I doubt Liverpool fans care much about their players winning WC while they are gathering 97 points and in CL final with a midfield that actually works rather than having a flashy name or 2.

I won't remotely be a bit sad losing any one from this team any one. For the first time in my life supporting United never hated a full squad like this.

Pogba who spoke about Real Madrid while on international duty. Then his form dipped just as we were fighting for top 4. That Pogba?
Good point that.

Is it a coincidence that everything went to shite since his quotes of flirting with Madrid?

I think he was hoping we hire zidane as new manager, after zidane went to madrid his attitude is back to being what under mourinho.

The problem is, Perez won't want pogba.

And you know this because...?? He's not the only sports person on social media but for some reason he's the only one that people have a problem with? If he's still with us next season, I hope he dyes his hair all colours of the rainbow. It really is pathetic.

It's too much to think about it as a coincidence. His performance also returned to being shite after such quotes and toxicity returned to surround the club.

The other advantage Liverpool has is that despite having a team capable of 97 points, they barely have any vultures spiraling for their players. Only player I'm hearing linked is Mane. And last summer Salah. Other then that it seems very quiet!

They don't have as much flashy names.

They are just a working football team. Their players form a strong and coherent unit which looks like bigger than the sume of its parts.

That's how football works. It's about building a functional unit and a coherent team rather than having a gallery of big names with nothing to show for on the pitch.

What a heaping pile of garbage. Im sure you were out there egging them on. Paying fans don't have a right to say whatever they want. That man for instance cannot call Pogba a nigger for instance. You're making it seem like match going fans have license to personally abuse players in any fashion. How would you like to be abused in that way because people have problems with the quality of your work? This shit is embarrassing to the club and you're part of the problem.

So Pogba is to be blamed for us having no coherent unit?

Hmmm. and just why would you assume racism would even be entertained by the fan shouting? That is a pathetic assumption, and says more about you, than my post.

How would you like to be abused in that way because people have problems with the quality of your work
I'd put £10 on right now that you have checked TripAdvisor before going on a holiday/hotel/trip. The whole world of commerce is now based on paying customers giving their opinion, and people spending based on those opinions, so your comment is a total mute point.

Im sure you were out there egging them on
Again, another pathetic assumption not based on any fact.

You want a real fact? Pogba HAS been sh*te this season, nothing that fan said was untrue. Or are you really saying, that fans should just pay up and shut up? Maybe stop idolising and start living in realty.

He is definitely part of the problem. For a midfielder he simply doesn't do his job. Midfielders aren't supposed to be inconsistent, passengers off ball and appear in one or 2 moments of good passing. I want my midfield to dominate, don't stop running, pressing and moving, don't dwell on the ball and do quick short passing in between them to move the ball forward and keep the play going, like any real football midfield.

All our midfielders trio are Immobile, lazy and barely run. There's a reason why we are very inconsistent and there's a reason why our midfield trio get dominated by every decent midfield, that in every big game we end up with possession less than 40%.

It's because they don't do the job the opposition midfields do and we are just happy with one or 2 brilliant moments from them whike they are getting absolutely dominated the entire game.

Very true. I don’t know why they feel the need to lie about it. When you repeat words like F off with your instagram and get out of our club. Just shows someone out of touch with an individual. London and Birmingham are a lot more multicultural. Today’s youth culture is a black culture which they associate with colour not realising it’s footballs new culture. This goes for all races in England with Pogba spending a lot of time in this country. However it’s seen as negative because as I said the habits are or black people.
Good post. The Manchester United F.C supporters who racially abused Ashley Young didn't come out of nowhere, they have always been around and are among us, maybe some are even on this forum throwing shade in every way possible but not explicit with the racial abuse as they'd obviously get banned. It boiled over on social media. You know the stereotypes too. Lazy, bad attitude, poor technique, low workrate, over the top criticism over off the pitch activities, and they pick on any little thing perceived as a weakness and it becomes a sweeping statement about their overall quality, repeated to death until its believed to be gospel truth. Its not just United but everywhere else in the league.

Andy Cole was never really liked for no particular reason by many supporters. Ask them why? 'Never warmed up to him for some reason'. He was a donkey who couldn't finish apparently, likened to Lukaku on his appreciation thread here. That man is among Uniteds top scorers of all time. Sterling got it bad as well on and off the pitch but is silencing critics with his performances but you have to be 200% better to be accepted.

I suspect he was better players playing with him with France then he does with us.

And I repeat, Pogba played under two workrate freaks (Allegri and Conte) and they were happy with his attitude. One should be asking why its happening with United. Maybe we've got shit managers or is it the case we've got a shit side?
It might be because he didn't have his pals around him like he does at United. A few of these lads spent their teenage years together we cant ignore that factor and it may in part explain our immature performances. We do have a shit side that's been patched together by 3 conservative managers but if Paul Pogba wants to make the situation better, and I believe he can, he needs to pull his finger and Lingards head out of his arse and start leading. Having shit players around him does not excuse some of the braindead football he has played this season. The club needs to keep the sparks to relight the fire and it will be Pogba's choice to stay and fight or go. I think he will go.

 exactly

Imagine being mad at your only quality outfield player for not being able to carry a bunch of bums and then singing the name of the other guy who jumped in the fast lane to Paris. Mad.
Surrounded by players of the quality of Mctominay, Pereira, Rashford, Lingard, Smalling, Jones, Dalot, Ashley young and being blamed every game for not being able to carry 3/4 of a team of deadweights

The guy can't win. If I were him I'd leave, why waste your prime surrounded by this shite. But when he does leave 'look at him quitting' yet they are the ones cheering Herrera

This style of midfield have Liverpool with 97 points and in CL final.

That's how football work as I said. Building a unit, not a freaking gallery.

Only the gallery of mediocres here. Liverpool combined two attackers to achieve golden boots and therefore incorporated this working midfield . especially when there's only one coach in the world that actually trains this football. You guys are blaming the one man producing in this largely dysfunctional team it's actually surreal but no matter. Let's get some few more workers in to consolidate our midtable slot.

And who said it did, exactly? Not me that's for sure.

Allow me to elaborate for your insinuating mind...

The reason for mentioning it, was because, instead of just the videos that are currently being shown all over the internet as an interpretation of what happened, I was referencing my comment from the FACT of being there. Nothing more, nothing less, or I would have said so.

If that gives you a persecution complex, then that is not my problem. Sorry.

Neither of their attackers were big names either.

Mane from Southampton whom Caf experts thought he isn't United quality, Firmino who got laughed at regularly and Salah who was very hit and miss in terms of finishing for Roma.

It's silly to think their workaholic midfield doesn't have a role in what they achieved, providing good base for the attackers by doing the dirty work, pressing and regaining possession the entire game and keep the pressure on the opposition.

Having one or 2 brilliant moments or passes in a game where your midfield is getting absolutely dominated and destroyed by the opposition isn't going to take us anywhere. It's not about adding more compilation to your YouTube video at the end of the season. Making one or 2 passes so we can add to his YouTube video so we can watch it and say "oh how creative he's" when these were coming in games we couldn't keep a possession more than 38%. Pretty much everything wrong with football here.

Yes Pogba and his partners in our midfield are very much to blame because they don't do the prime job I expect from a top premier league side midfield, is to be competitve, regain and retain possession, do quick short passing and keep the pressure going on the opposition.

Till we build a team like that we will stay where we are now.

The problem extends to other positions as well, our attack and fullback barely do the hard work job and movement I expect from any top PL side forwards and fullbacks. To claim Pogba is innocent of this is wrong though.

People will NEVER acknowledge this, there is an underlying racism behind SOME of the criticism. Sterling was once the whipping boy but after his instagram post the media are leaving him along and have found a new target. The people that hated Sterling now think he's a decent lad (he hasn't changed) and have turned their attention to Pogba.
If Pogba speaks out, the media will then back-peddle and find a new target.

Constantly at the STD clinic.
Pogba is an easy scapegoat. The guy is surrounded by SHIT. He is quality we need to retain and build more with.

Unfortunately, think he will leave and be the worlds best midfielder at Real.

No their workhalic midfield has been set up very cleverly by Klopp. There's not another coach in the world that can play this midfield and reach CL final. It's clear the heavylifting has been done by the attack in particular Mane.
Footballs is about producing. If their had been awards for workers Sanchez is the best player in the league. None had ran more than him. Pogba had created 52 chances this season. Who else had produced something?

The claim that Pogba is now somehow an obstacle to coherent football is quite ludicrous. And the possession stat is meaningless after we have largely played counter attacking football/parking the bus football in the last 2 year until now.

He's an easy target. I'm more concerned about how well run and managed the football team is. Players can't be blamed for the odd match or 5, but over a period your manager should be responsible for putting together a unit that performs.

Football about producing only is a stone age football. Even the forwards aren't rated based on goals only nowadays, but on their movement, holding up, linking and building the attacks etc. Gone are the days of poachers and so for midfielders too. Midfielder most important job is to keep and regain possession, move the ball forward and keep the pressure going, and do the dirty work of pressing. Of course it's great to have talented passing and shooting but without the main things you will end up being a YouTube player only. You need to add the talent on the hard work rate not replace it.

You can't be good with football in your feet while you are a complete passenger off it, gets dispossessed loads of time, dwells on the ball much and completely non existent when your team is in defensive state. These days are gone. Ozil and Fabregss got absolutely slaughtered for similar problems.

You can't be a part of midfield that's getting dominated and destroyed by the opposition and be fine for making 1 or 2 great passes when you couldn't control possession and your team lost 4-0.

The state of possession is still as terrible under Ole as it was the last 2 years. We couldn't manage anything more than 38% possession in all our big games under Ole whatever we won or lost them. I maintained my opinion then and now, we didn't intend to park the bus in all of these, we are just a terrible team in terms of possession and terms of the ball and that's thanks to our midfield trio. They simply can't keep possession and do any quick short passing in between them. They don't press much either to regain possession. They are immobile, lazy and barely do the minimum I expect from any competitive midfield.

Pogba isn't the full problem but he's definitely part of it because he simply doesn't do his job as a CM. As I said, we can be happy with some brilliant moments of passing here and there every game but we need to realize this isn't going to take us anywhere when on the pitch our midfield gets completely destroyed by any decent midfield. That's football match not YouTube video to look for moments during the game.

Of course there are many other crap players in the team and the squad is full of shite. Of course the manager had many question to answers but Pogba isn't innocent either. His problems are thanks to him only and he can't be separated from our big problem.

He simply needs to perform as a proper CM whatever here or in his new club. It's his own problem to solve not anyone else, neither here nor at his new club. It's up to him to stay being a moments only player or develop into a proper dominating midfield. He has all the quality to be a proper dominating CM but he doesn't put the effort or the dedication in it. It's up to him, but his current state is unacceptable and no manager is going to endure a passenger off the ball whatever quality he has because every player has a role on the pitch on and off the ball, and he will get booed to hell by Madrid fans for similar performances he gets excused for here.

We should get rid of him and play with a central midfield of McTominay and Ashley Young. Perhaps bring Giggs out of retirement as well.

Young was actually at his best in AM at Villa.
Moving him to RB he's regressed so much as a footballer he can hardly cross the ball which was one of his best assets

Yeah. And Ed for appointing him and his predecessors.
Thank you, someone finally gets it.

Look, I love Pogba. I think he's one of the most uniquely talented players in world football. But it's precisely because of how unique he is, that he currently seems an ill fit for us. He doesn't neatly fit in any tactical schematic, and he's far too prone to dips in form and temprement. As a result, he's not someone that you can build your team around. He's not the missing piece of the jigsaw. He's instead, one of the periphery pieces of it. A bloody beautiful one, but peripheral nonetheless.

It's not his fault that he is the way he is. The fault is on Jose (and Ed) for buying him and thinking he could be something that he's literally never shown the inclination of becoming; and b) not supplementing him with quality he and we needed to bring the best out of him and relieve him of the pressure.

This is not to say that Pogba is without fault, he absolutely isn't. His inconsistencies are now seriously concerning, and I think we could be seeing a serious case of unfulfilled talent (strange as it may be for a WC winner and multiple honours in Italy and Europe) but he could have become one of the truly great midfielders in world football and now that seems unlikely.

Also, on the criticism; as someone who goes home and away regularly, I seriously believe a lot of it is due to the fallout from when he first left the club. A lot of fans don't seem to realise that Pogba could quite easily have moved elsewhere if he truly wanted to, or stayed put at Juve and work towards winning the CL. Instead, he came back (the pay packet on offer here definitely being a big reason, maybe THE reason, even) but because fans never got the opportunity to deal with it at the time, and how shit we had gotten and how well he had progressed afterwards, it just made a lot of them very bitter, IMO. Even though he came back, that bitterness and resentment is still there.

All in all, it's pretty fecking poisonous in the stands when it comes to Pogba, and while there was hope that the tide was turning in the immediate aftermath of Ole coming in, it's now reached a crescendo of hate, and I think now there's no way back. A massive shame, but we'll move on and so will he. I knew that him leaving at some point was likely, I just wish he was able to help us get to 21 before the inevitable occurred. As it is, it may be a while before that's a realistic aim unfortunately...

Danny Rose has spoke out too and good for him. Ji-Sung Park and Ki Sung-yueng (while at Celtic) also suffered from this kind of abuse.

Good post. The Manchester United F.C supporters who racially abused Ashley Young didn't come out of nowhere, they have always been around and are among us, maybe some are even on this forum throwing shade in every way possible

The twitter accounts who racially abused Young were largely based in the far east.

Also not sure what point you think you're making with those searches, because if you actually read the posts the one player on either list actually labelled as lazy with a bad attitude is Martial. Surely you're not about to suggest that Martial is not a lazy player with a bad attitude.

Erm, its pretty clear what my point is.
Still can’t see your point how Herrera who has done the similar case can get a special treatment by the fans chanting his name.

My point is so much fair when I said if we want to boo players, boo everyone except Valencia, Greenwood & Gomes.

As said I refuse to judge him unless we improve the side drastically. We can't just put 1-2 top players in the team and then expect them to drag this whole crap to victory. It isn't happening.

Once the quality is improved across the board then yes we can judge Pogba.

Forget about that, did pogba turn up when facing Barcelona while fred and mctominay dominating Barcelona at home and giving all the platform needed for pogba to thirst forward and do the damage?
Dominated Barcelona? Seriously? You're making them look like Keane and Scholes in their prime. They were slightly better then Pogba in 1 game. Throughout the rest of the season they shifted between average to horrendous. Pogba was our no 1 assist man and goal scorer which is amazing considering he's playing in a midfield role.

If only they'd realize where our issues are.
We literally have:
- Shaw + the likes of Jones, Smalling, Rojo, Tony, Young as fecking defenders. Other than Smalling none of them would start for Everton, with Shaw being the exception.
- Paul, Matic, Scott, Andreas, Fred and a few youngsters. The only two that would normally start games in the EPL are Paul, Matic(Everton), Fred.
- Lingz, Martial, Rom, Rashford, Mata. Other than Martial who could start at Arsenal, none of them would start at City, Lpool, Spurs or Chelsea. (3-4 years ago Tony, Rash and Rom would've had a chance, but you can't see them spearheading teams like City, Spurs and Lpool these days, not even fecking close).

So we kinda have DDG, Paul, Fred, Lindelof and Shaw, the only semi consistent players in a team that should, at least, challenge for top 4. Fred is a question, Paul might leave, Tony/Rashford/Rom are not UTD quality and should be bench options.
If you sit on the above you'll kinda understand why not even Messi would look good in this team and that the job ahead is massive. Pogba should not be apologizing for playing with shit players even if he's decent only for half a season. The club should be apologizing for having the quality standards of a siberian prison.
I agree although I do find your assessment about the team too optimistic. Lingz, Shaw and Rashford are more Everton material.
