feck Ashley Young. If he's starting games next season, you can be sure that 70% of the time, he'd be shite.
And we're trying to get the two want aways, De Gea and Pogba to stay on the promise of captaincy!Tweet

"Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set to offer Paul Pogba a captaincy role at Manchester United as part of a plan to keep him at the club this summer.
Ashley Young, the 33-year-old right back is expected to become club captain next season after United decided against extending the contract of present skipper, Antonio Valencia.
But given that Young is not guaranteed to be playing every week next season — United want to sign a… (The article requires a subscription)

So basically our vice-captain will be our captain most of the time.
Yep. Far too much sentimentality. Ole has to show some courage and tell some they have to go, not just some going who want to go anyway. Herrera has gone of his own accord, Darmian wants to go, Fellaini was sold, him and Valencia were the only ones given the boot. Some of the others will hang around for ever unless someone does something. They are in no hurry to go.Ole will lose his job if he continues to give him a starting role. Imagine getting your dream job and losing it because misplaced loyalty to dross. If I were the DOF he would be first on the list to go. I can't shake this feeling that he has too much to say in that dressing room. How can you have a winning mentality with someone like that leading you? Yes he works hard, but he's not good enough and we need to move on.
Imagine this was Pep, Young would be long gone.
I love Carrick, but I always have this nagging feeling that he's too close to his old team mates like Young etc. I just wonder how much influence he has? I just wish we'd mix things up a bit and get in some more back room staff who've had nothing to do with United. SAF did it, so I hope Ole takes that on board. Maybe in fantasy land he would announce he is leaving United because he is not good enough, or announce retirement. Not his fault the club has failed to find a better replacement.feck Ashley Young. If he's starting games next season, you can be sure that 70% of the time, he'd be shite.
Well hopefully we’ll not see you back if and when the club becomes successful again.Yes .. This just isnt a standard that this club should offer us fans. Cant stand how bad this regime has allowed us to become.
Yep, we're fecked. Ole's judgement out the window.Tweet

We've tried the outsider route, so maybe they decided to go full on 'United Way'. Although there has always been a United influence there of course, first Giggs now Michael Carrick. Giggs to learn off Moyes and then LvG. Carrick learning of Jose, but Ole is not really going to pass much on to him, so I suppose that is why Phelan is there.I love Carrick, but I always have this nagging feeling that he's too close to his old team mates like Young etc. I just wonder how much influence he has? No I meant our backroom staff. Carrick is still learning, Phelan we don't know how much of the modern game he's clued into. Need someone else with McKenna offering new ideas etc. Someone without any bias and will just look at things objectively. I just think it's too 'cosy' at the moment imho. We've tried the outsider route, so maybe they decided to go full on 'United Way'. Don't know why he doesn't just give it to Lindelof. This is an absolute farce. Also include Pogba (again) and DeGea who barely even want to be here for good measure!?
We won't even pick an outsider to help with transfers so I wouldn't hold out too much hope. Ashley is a SAF man, so Ole is surrounding himself with them. But Ashley wasn't even an important part of SAF's United, he was a bit player.....We won't even pick an outsider to help with transfers so I wouldn't hold out too much hope. Ashley is a SAF man, so Ole is surrounding himself with them. He is going back to the past.
smalling would be the safe bet I guess. Pogba isn't arsed about it, he was captain early this year then gave one of his apologies about not being focused. NonsenseDon't know why he doesn't just give it to Lindelof.
He might just think he can remember how it was. As you say he wasn't even a big player for us, yet has not got better but is now a regular, although that could change and is being made the club captain. All those trophy winning campaigns he has been part of recently. But Ashley wasn't even an important part of SAF's United, he was a bit player.....
Ah well, we will see.
Haha, well next season it will be interesting to see what excuses are used if he does start for us.Ashley must be like one of those femme fatale's who just lure managers in.
That's a pretty common reason why managers lose their jobs, even outside of football.Imagine getting your dream job and losing it because misplaced loyalty to dross
Thanks.. Dont know how that helps?Well hopefully we’ll not see you back if and when the club becomes successful again.
I'd be surprised if even 1 player in our dressing room has any true respect for Ashley Young as a captain. And I just mean the type of respect a captain would typcially command, not that they all bully him.MEN said he wanted to extend his contract because he liked his old school leadership in dressing room.

The managers were clueless. But seriously how the hell Young survived 4 managers?
But still 4 of them with completely opposing styles and he still made the starting line up.The managers were clueless.
Because the managers deemed other positions to be more important for improvement and they all got sacked before getting round to RB.But seriously how the hell Young survived 4 managers?
I am sure they are getting some sort of perverted joy in annoying the fans.Just looked at United's twitter to see the fan reaction... let's just say they are pissed off about this
And yet Ashley Young having a fairly unimportant armband is the thing that tips you over the edge? Perhaps your mother should’ve taught you to grow up.Thanks.. Dont know how that helps?
Dont know how you were raised but I know my mom told me that if I could say anything positive or constructive I shouldnt bother saying anything at all. I think me being off the Caf when Ashley Young captains Utd next season shouldnt really matter much as we will have enough people ready to spew poison over him, Ole and the club without me.
I have supported Utd since 84 and will keep on supporting Utd till I die but I really dont want to spend my time next season spewing profanities online every week, if you see that as supporting your club I guess you could do with a break too.
It's not that the armband is important, it's that the wearer of the armband tends to start games. And yet Ashley Young having a fairly unimportant armband is the thing that tips you over the edge? Perhaps your mother should’ve taught you to grow up.
The last club captain didn’t.It's not that the armband is important, it's that the wearer of the armband tends to start games.
If he is I doubt he will still be in the job for the following season.Seeing Young or Smalling with the armband on next season will see my blood rising to boiling point. I just hope that OGS is not that naive.
