Valencia was club captain this season.

LvG is gone, the captain shall not necessarily always play anymore. We've had club captains that barely played in recent years, like GNeville and Valencia.
I really really hope Young doesn't play but I feel Ole really likes him for some reason and we will be seeing a lot of Young, I hope I'm wrong

He'll probably still play 20-25 games unfortunately but no way will he be first choice next season. Baby steps.

60 mill euros for Cancelo yet CP are asking for 50 mill pound for AWB

Wowsers, in that case tweet @CEO4TAG and let him know how much you think his player is worth and I am sure once you have corrected him he will duly accept your valuation.

The funny part is that you’ll probably pay that (and then some) for AWB.:D

We will sign a RB, why are you guys unnecessarily bringing young into it ?

Young is probably our backup next year.

Surely the last ten years have shown you can never be certain with united.

We haven't had a specialist right back since rafael. We haven't had a right winger since nani/valencia playing in his proper position.

We steadfastly refused to bring a centre mid in, having to bring 40 year old scholes back, ignoring a young pogba.
We didn't buy a centre back last year.

So again. I wouldn't be certain with united.

I'd much rather get AWB than Cancelo. Boy's an absolute titan. He'd make that flank harder to break into than hell. People forget Cancelo is extremely shady with his defensive work. Has elite CBs covering for him and Juve still suffer down his flank. We already have Dalot who is good going forward and if not AWB, United can still try Meunier for even less. Not the end of the world.

People want us to play attacking football but at the same time also expect us to buy FBs who are very good defensively but crap going forward. Dalot is nowhere near ready and Meunièr isn’t very good. Cancels could be in the top 3 RBs in the world in a few years time. You just don’t pass up on such an opportunity especially when 1) there are very few good RBs around 2)when your club has very few WC players

Last summer we wanted four or five and ended up with two (plus a 3rd choice keeper), one which was a very young player (Dalot) the other a player from Ukraine we knew wouldn't make a huge difference (Fred) for the season.

We want five or six now and are being fed information that it will be four or five but I'm thinking two or three signings maximum with one being Daniel James. It's just how the club operates now. We aren't very good in transfer windows because our scouting is crap, we don't have a DOF so it's reactionary signings and a bunch of guess work. Very indecisive too.

Such a huge window in which ideally we should be moving 4-5 players. The speed at which Woody works we'd be lucky to get rid of 2

Jack Gaughan: "Manchester United hope to recoup up to £80million if they sell Romelu Lukaku this summer... It is understood United ended up paying towards £90m after a number of clauses in the deal were quickly triggered.
Lukaku remains unsure where he will be playing next season, with his situation complicated by a transfer market sources have described as 'stuck'.
United would look to add more height up front should Lukaku depart but manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer views Marcus Rashford as the club's main frontman."

Rob Dawson: Manchester United have told Inter Milan it will take £80 million to sign Romelu Lukaku, sources have told ESPN FC..
..he is not a player Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is actively looking to sell and United will demand a large fee before allowing him to leave.

Ed basically pulling the same shit they did on us when Jose wanted Perisic. He's there if you want him but it's going to cost you more than he's worth.

I'm a bit worried if Ole doesn't want to sell him but also views Rashford as his first choice striker.

Hopefully we start to hear something solid regarding transfers and players leaving after international's next week. That leaves just over 3 weeks until players return to pre season. Have a bad feeling it might not go to plan with targets.

Things will get going in June once the games are done but the anticipated moving of lots of top players might not happen. Inflated fees and wages could see more players staying.

Agreed.

Also, the United "overhaul" stuff was all massively overdone. It'll be three or possibly four in and about the same out. Most of the starting XI next season will be the same.

Copa America starts in June. That might impact signings of South American players.

Shit, if he goes to Arsenal for that price they've got a steal and if Cancelo goes to City it leaves us either paying stupid money for a RB that can't attack, or stuck for another season with Ashley Young.
Or we can give the 20 y/o RB we bought last summer a chance.
