As they said on the radio, and I had not thought, tomorrow will be very hot in Madrid.
I guess it will influence the game being maybe a thick and slow match. They will have to measure well the efforts.
Surely that suits Spurs more then Liverpool. Liverpool's way of playing is much more demanding and reliant on high pressing and breaking quickly which can be draining

I think both teams play similar styles, both can play the high press or the slow possession build up. Spurs might be happy to relinquish possession for the large part in the hope of catching us on the break with Moura and Son's pace. Both players are not naturally suited to the build up game, which is why their successes have come chasing hopeless second leg causes - which they turned around.

Anyway Liverpool have been training longer in Spain to acclimatise than Spurs. Plus this is also another reason why I hope Kane starts, he's not played competitively for 8 weeks only to step into these draining conditions.

Mmmm, interesting. Maybe the team that presses too much may end up actually tiring towards the end of the game? That would be a first this season from what I’ve seen...

This is all very sensible, but are you like a Scouse supporting friend of mine that had a dream where all your good fortune this season reversed itself in this game and, apparently, you lost 7-2?!

Or there was the Stevie slip, should have won the league that season. Or 97 points, should have won the league this season. Or reaching 4 (FOUR !) CL finals since 2005 and only winning one (4th one pending tomorrow of course). Chelsea in the last 6-8 years has vastly out-trophied us while being absolutely crap and changing about 5 managers. I think the cosmos needs to take a good look at itself and feel ashamed. ;)

Hahaha! My friend is generally an optimist, but atypically for a football fan, a complete pessimist when it comes to your club. His view of the Cosmos’s interest in the final is slightly different from yours, but I do agree that the Cosmos’s influence in the league since 1990 has be a little malign to Liverpool!

I’m being forced to watch tomorrow with 3 of your kind so I’m just going to have a final word with Dave Bowman before I retire for the evening...

Enjoy the day tomorrow to all Liverpool and Tottenham fans. I’m very jealous of the day you’ll have.

Can someone remind me why there is such a big gap between the last EPL game and this CL final?

On the game itself i want to see Spurs win but i wouldn't trust Spurs to win the milk cup never mind the champions league, this is arguably their biggest fixture in their history and how they handle all the pressure that comes with that will likely be a deciding factor.

All logic points to Liverpool win however the only glimmer of hope i have that Liverpool might lose is Klopp and his poor record in cup finals.

Klopp won his first ever cup final in 2012 but since then his record in finals has been woeful

2013 Champions League - Borussia Dortmund 1-2 Bayern Munich
2014 German Cup - Borussia Dortmund 0-2 Bayern Munich (aet)
2015 German Cup - Borussia Dortmund 1-3 Wolfsburg
2016 Capital One Cup - Liverpool 1-1 Man City - lost on penalties
2016 Europa League - Liverpool 1-3 Sevilla
2018 Champions League - Liverpool 1-3 Real Madrid

Can Spurs keep that woeful record going? sure its the hope that kills you.

If I were Pochettino, it would start very strong. Burning half of the deposit in the first 20 minutes.
It's a risk but I think the team is more prepared to close well and endure hardship.
My question is if he will act like Simeone, with his ass stuck to the goal and waiting for events

I get so angry knowing this should be Barca vs Ajax/Spurs and I should relaxed ready to watch a good game of football. Now I’m stressed and depressed at the thought of Liverpool winning this. feck you Barca.

Think I’ll put some good money on a Liverpool win to lessen the pain.

No one has stopped Liverpool from having their way down the flanks. If Spurs can stop Robertson and Alexander-Arnold they have a great chance at winning. Dont think they will though

Interesting random statistic:

If Liverpool win tomorrow, they will have the exact same record in the Champions League (since 1992) as Manchester United. 2 trophies and 2 silver medals.

That’s despite the fact that Man Utd have won 13 Premier League trophies in the same timespan and Liverpool haven’t won any.

Not so sure your European cup record in the 2000s is somehow a confirmation of bad luck... You've been the underdogs in all 3 you've played so far (by some distance) and were arguably lucky to win the one you did win.

Tonight will be the first time you'll have been favourites unlucky to lose based on the strength of the two teams on paper before the match.

Don't understand these Spurs to get battered and Liverpool to win comfortably predictions, we literally should have won at Anfield a few weeks ago.

Couldn't sleep last night, watched nearly every preview, tactical preview, interview, highlights from previous matches, just need it to hurry up now :D

If I’m not mistaken, we’ve reached the same number of finals since 2004/2005 season as Barca and Madrid have in that time which is mental (the two most successful teams in this time). We really need to win.

2007 we were vastly superior to AC Milan. It was pure luck just like the final in 2005. Milan should have won in 2005 and we should have won it in 2007....football eh.

Spurs will win.

They have nothing to lose whereas Liverpool will be laughed at were they to lose another final. And, apart from the game at Wembley last season, they have always performed well against Klopp's Liverpool. The game at Anfield was very close and could have gone both ways.

Those 3 weeks without football are likely to affect Liverpool more as they rely more on high intensity and synchronisied movement at high speed. Remember Liverpool had a lot of rest when they drew 4 games over 4-5 weeks several months ago.

Fecking annoying that we've only won 3 Champions League's despite being so dominant for so long. We have really underachieved in that regard.

No chance spurs will win, Liverpool easy 3-1 winners

Given how lucky Liverpool have been this season, the most fitting end would be for Spurs to triumph through a last-minute penalty scored by Kane after a dive so outrageous it wins a Bafta award at the end of the year.

Karma.

Spurs should have won at Anfield this season and were narrowly beaten at Wembley before that.

They have every chance of beating Liverpool tonight.

3 European Finals in 5 years with Klopp

You reach that point where your just happy to be back in the running for such competitions or in the final stages at least, but then you need to cross the line

Spurs are happy to be here, obviously want to win it too, but the expectation isn't anywhere near as greater as that of Liverpool.

These games require not just quality but heart as well, both teams have the quality to Win, its who has the bigger heart on the evening, this evening.

Naturally I feel after last years CL Final, getting 97 points in this seasons League, Liverpool have to deliver, and I think we will.

Unfortunately Liverpool will destroy Spurs today. They'll score in about 10 minutes and all hell will brake loose. Spurs won't be able to cope.

Just looked it up and we’ve lost once to Tottenham since 2012.

Not sure why people keep saying spurs always do well against us. That one 4-1 game seems to be coloring people’s perception

While Liverpool has the better squad, I think Pochettino is the more adaptable of the 2 managers. I see him as more capable of coming up with a plan C if A and B don’t work.

Spurs has to be careful not to fall behind early and then be caught on the counter later in a game.

My cousin is a Spurs fan and hes adamant that they've won just by being in the final. Win or lose on the night doesn't matter to him as being in the final is a victory in itself. Strange mindset to have. We had no right being in the 2005 final but I would have been devastated if we'd lost just as I was in 2007 and 2018.
I can't see an easy Liverpool victory and with our record in finals, I'm struggling to see a win at all.
It's going to be a tight, cagey match and I think one mistake will decide it.

It’s been a year of rotten one-sided finals so far and I see this being a rerun of the Europa League one with Spurs showing that anything Arsenal can do, they can do exactly the same.

Eriksen has been shit against strong opponents for months now. If he doesn't step up today, Son alone with Lucas (if he plays?) can't be enough. Tottenham needs luck and 200% performance of it's players to even challenge Liverpool tonight.
