Liverpool let contracts of players run down so they can leave on a free/be released - "thats how you run a football club"

United havent renewed a player with 2 years left on their contract - "what the hell are we doing, shambles!"
This is just so disappointingly true

This thread is quickly turning into something rather depressing yet again. Can't we just buy the whole of Ajax' first team and give them most of ours in return? Bam.. Problems solved.

Tick tock. I was slated and called melodramatic for stating that I was worried about our slow activity nearly 3 weeks ago and predictably for me here we are now.

We are close to 4 weeks from the tour on which Ole said he wanted to have all of his squad for next season. I’ll hold my breath until ‘after the international fixtures’ but if we are still only ‘probably’ signing James by Monday then I think it’s time to get very very concerned.

If you look at our players we could be much higher up the league if we were coached right.

Working hard, pressing high up the pitch.

Do you think Nerves, Ziyech, van de de Beek are any better than Rashford, Martial, Pogba ability wise? I don't. Are they better drilled as a team and do the work harder, absolutely.

So I don't actually think we need major surgery to our team, we need better coaching and motivation, with a few additions.

Report suggesting City will pay Felix's release clause.
The young pearl will sign for the next 4-5 years. It will collect around five million.
In Portugal they assure that Joao Felix leaves to the City.
City don't tend to spend this big on a singular player, I would be very surprised if this is true

I’ve had enough of hearing this over the years.

Majority of our players straight to the point aren’t fit enough. Ole tried to get them to play at a high tempo press but they could only maintain it for 10-15 mins before giving out whereas other top teams, they can maintain it for 20-30 mins. Ole and the staff heavily emphasized training for this reason yet it couldn’t get much from the players.

...there needs to be a mix. We can’t just have headless chickens running around the pitch aimlessly like Lingard. There needs to be a balance of fitness and quality so we can capitalize off the chances created by our press/movement off the ball. There’s very few players on our team that can do both relatively well. So yea, it’s not as easy coaching. You can coach both fitness and quality.

Working harder is an ability our players lack, so yes, the players you mentioned are better than our, by quite some distance too.

Spurs were very fortunate to get passed them in the CL, while at our peak under Ole we struggled to hold onto a 1 nil win.

Do you think our team could wipe the floor with Real Madrid and knock a Ronaldo led Juve out of the CL?

This magical "ability" our players have is mystifying to me, as I've rarely seen it, I remember the days after a loss our next opponent were nervous as they knew there would be a backlash, nowadays they relish it because our players are weak willed and are soft.

How accurate is this? Would be a massive blow

Isn't he supposed to cost around £25m? Feck me, poor Arsenal if that's true. It'll be very hard to improve their league position next year if those reports are true, and it'll be crucial to keep a hold of every players for them, especially Aubameyang.
Then they're already doomed as their best midfielder, Ramsey, left on a free.

Players like Dembele, Sissoko, Eriksen were all transformed by Poch. These guys became workhorses when they were never ever thag type of player. Working harder is not an ability our players lack, our players have never been trained to work hard so how on earth can anyone say they can’t do it? I’m sure most of these guys, if they worked on their fitness, could learn to work hard, some of them already do like Rashford and Lingard. Some of them maybe not but it definitely can be done and Poch has proved that over and over again
