Perhaps Lukaku is aware of the rather large fee we are demanding for his transfer, so he is coming out in the press with quotes like this to help reduce it by basically saying he wants out?

Or I'm just reading too much into it.
Man Utd: "Oh no, he talks, we better lower our demands now! Inter, we are very sorry, you can have him for 6 milions. Have fun, sorry again"
So basically I want to leave
Yes, for a guy who can't talk due to "respect" for a contract we has with Red Devils, he surely talks too much. Good ridance.

I'm not against Lukaku leaving. I just think there are several who should first. I really wanted Timo Werner but it looks like Bayern have him on lock.

That's a horrible deal, he's worth at least 200mil. Hazard went for 100mil with one year left.
Exactly. 150m should be absolutely minimum price. It should be closer to 250m given some of the fees going around. Remember: Sigurdson was 60m and Fred was 58m. Pogba is worth 400m to United. But we should sell if we can get 150 to 175m plus incentives.

I'd take £135m for Pogba if he wants to leave. Just don't let Madrid palm their deadwood off their wage bill and on to ours!

Re: Lukaku. Those quotes are disappointing but not exactly unexpected. Towards the end of the season when we blowing our top 4 chances he was giving interviews talking about his dream of playing in Italy. He escaped criticism at the time for some reason but seems to be getting it in spades now. Anyway I am fine with selling him provided we get a good offer. Rashford will be Solskjaer's starting striker next season and Lukaku earns too much to be a bench player.

This lad has more delusions of grandeur than a Spurs fan. He has the touch of a spoon trying to catch water from a tap but talks about his "decision" in the same breath as mentioning Cristiano Ronaldo.

Can't help but admire his self confidence.

Don't think he will. Nobody can match his wages.
I think he'll take a cut to leave personally. He can't be happy at the club. Doesn't look like he is. He needs to salvage his career.

Sanchez plus cash for Griezmann? Simeone n Sanchez have a working relationship already from their days at River.

If true, 340k a week for a 19 year old is crazy. Goes to show how corrupt UEFA is for allowing this kind of financial deals that PSG are making to "meet FFP". Pile of nonsense.
I mean how much will he get when he wants to renegotiate his contract? How far away are we from the first 1 million a week player

Lukaku's clearly been told a while back that he's playing second fiddle to a more mobile striker next season and is trying to make it look like he's deciding his own future. He's just saving face.

Isnt Messi or Ronaldo on €/£1m a week?
Yeah actually I think you're right, but that includes bonuses and image rights etc. I don't think their basic pay rate is quite at 1 mill. However this is why Barca can't really go for Griezmann and De Ligt - Greizmann is the 3rd or 2nd best paid player in la liga and De Ligt now seems to be looking for 200k a week minimum..

Mino Raiola met the sports director of #PSG Antero Henrique this morning in Paris. Both parties discussed at length on De Ligt's contractual desires. Ajax asks for 75M €! De Ligt must now make his choice.

Messi is on £1.6m a week some sources claim.
Football leaks. It's structured in such a way as to limit the impact season-to-season with a huge signing bonus, but when you break it down, it rounds up to an average of €100m per year, AND then there's bonuses on top of that
