Are you surprised? It’s Canada vs Martinique in the United States. How high could the interest possibly be? To compound it, it’s in a 90,000 seat stadium. :wenger:
If it was actually in a decent location like Seattle or even New York then we'd likely get a decent crowd. Instead it's at the rose to pander to the Mexicans who've bought 60k tickets with no intention of showing up for this game.

They should just let us play our games in Canada anyways instead of shit American venues.

I bet they didn’t sell 60k tickets. Probably gave most of those away. Hence the no shows.

And Martinique does not have that many expats in the states especially compared to some of the other countries in the tournament.

By winning every game at the Nations League qualifying. They always have a few decent players playing in France. And after the top 6 or so teams the drop off in quality in Concacaf is huge.

MAK looking bad at LB. Godinho not looking great. Piette's fat ass doing nothing, get him off the pitch and Atiba into midfield to run the show. Why James isn't in the squad is baffling.

As said above, somewhere where the Canucks could get to easily.
There are a lot in SoCal but probably not in summertime ;)

They don't need to give away Mexican tickets. They'll sell like hot cakes no matter what. There are hundreds of thousands of Mexicans in California.
This used to be true. As of late they've been struggling to fill the stadiums with just any chump team. They'd show up if they were playing Brazil, but not for Cuba or Guatemala.

Regardless of the result last night as it was a very weak Cuba squad. I can’t see past Mexico winning this especially with the injury to Taylor. They’ve got comfortably the best side for me along with the best manager.

So excited to see us (Bermuda) later. Great accomplishment to even be there with such a tiny population.

Won't ever see a team play worse than what Haiti did first 30. Bermuda were excellent as well though, were good value for their lead at HT. Haiti turned it up this half.

Great first half for the Reggae Boyz. 2-0 up on Honduras. Leon Bailey is already making an impact. Made a great pass on the first goal.

Yeah we did well, but fitness was woeful. Most players aren't pros and it showed. Still, first goal at the tourney isn't all bad!

It did look like a new grass pitch that had buffalo stampeding across it. That being said, I have seen far worse in CONCACAAF.
Yeah was still pretty good by Concacaf standards I guess, just stupid using it for a tournament game when compared to the ones being used in America, it's a huge disadvantage for the better footballing side. Antigua's pitch v Curacao earlier this year was one of the worst I've seen as well.

feck me Mexico. What a strike.
They look so much better than they ever did under Osorio. I thought that Canada would give them a test, but they looked comfortable throughout. Having said that, I don't know why Herdman decided to play Larin and then have Johnson and Kaye as our midfield. The lack of creativity and midfield guile was lacking on our part.

The Cuba and Costa Rica games are far more important with a potential semi against Mexico anyway. There was very little point of playing all of our starters. He experimented and rested some players for the more important upcoming fixtures. By all means the XI at the end of the match will be the one starting in the next game. We have no experience of playing good sides also so he was just experimenting playing a more defensive setup.

Our backline will be our let down though, no where near good enough and Herdman doesn't have much choice other than to slap some half assed group back there.

Be surprised if Costa Rica don't beat Canada.

A Mexico vs USA final me thinks.

Is Vela even playing this thing? Think I saw Raul Jimenez score a few goals but with Vela know living in the States thought he would be there.

Just watching the US-Guyana game. Everything I read made it seem like we (US) were awful but I thought we’ve looked decent, I’m only to half at this point. Good young squad, Pulisic is looking like quite a player.
