It's a combination of factors:
  • players are on high wages that don't correspond to their footballing abilities;
  • expectations to get big fees for them;
  • lack of ambition in the players in question to play first team football - it seems most are happy to sit tight and receive the already secured paychecks;
  • no adequate football vision from the board, which consists of business people that have no real idea how the sport works.
In my opinion, we as fans should be putting a hell of a lot more pressure on the owners to act accordingly and swiftly reorganise the hierarchy of Manchester United. That's why I'm firmly in support of the "Glazers out" movement, even if it results in only achieving the required changes.
I think the average players on high wages is the killer though. It's something that plagued City after Abu Dhabi's early largesse.

What baffles me the most is, why can't we ship players like Rojo, Darmian. Just sell them,even if it is for a minuscule amount. At least they will be off our wage books. Or are they so bad that there are no takers for them?
Rojo would be most teams highest paid player, why would anyone want him he's terrible.

He told Goal : “I don’t know [if I’ll still be at Napoli next year], I think so. But I have to play the Afcon and then after that I’ll go back to Napoli.”
He continued: “I don’t want to talk about my future today, I prefer to talk about Senegal.
“Senegal achieved something great today. I am 200 per cent with Senegal and 200% with the 15 million Senegalese people.
“I’m relaxed, I want to focus on the Afcon and after that return to Napoli and we’ll see what happens. The most important thing now is to win with Senegal.”

You really believe the 100 million rumor? Based on what, one source?
If that's true, we are fecked. And we are even more fecked if we are planning on spending more than half of that on FB when there are cheaper options of comparable quality around (Meunier)
What is there not to believe? We have never spent more than £120m net in a single window, I think our budget is the same this window as well.

Heard they actually want to put Icardi in for a trade. Is Icardi better then Lukaku? Never mind the attitude part. Just footballing wise.
Footballing wise he is, but he is not worth the fuss. If sir Alex was our manager, I would take Icardi becuase he can control him and his wife|agent. But Ole, he is too weak.

No. Well Icardi is a better finisher, but his overall game is worse than Lukaku.
He is not a world beater, but he is better than Lukaku in every aspect of the game (that tells you everything about Lukaku), he has been carrying his team alone year after year.

So Wan Bissaka in for a medical this week... Do we start counting those famous 48 hours now?
Maguire to City, great news!
Firpo... But why, Shaw has become a good player again and a LB is kind of the last position we need to look at...

But then again, this is the Twitter thread and we'll probably end up missing out on AWB and pay 100m for Maguire...

This Norwegian MUFC related facebook site say James Maddison had a medical on friday and will be presented this week. They never call transfers and are quite serious people who deals with United fan effects, travels etc. So for they to come with this suddenly is kind of weird. Sorry for the gossip, didnt know where to put it.

Then why love there in the first place? Barca are being clever hoovering up all these talents and then selling them on almost instantly for a huge profit, you'd think these young players would get wise to it.

I mean if we need a replacement. He does sound like the last good one left by the way you say.

Welcome to the Redcafe. You must be new here.

Its called Transfer Muppetry. Happens nearly every summer.
This is the worst Summer in the history of Redcafe.

Under Fergie, it was never this hysterical.

With Moyes, there was still optimism as we were reigning champions. Under LvG, we were signing players all over the place. Mourinho was Mourinho; there was plenty of faith in him being able to bring success.

But Ole is a bit different. There's no track record to have faith in. And our last 10 games were shit, so it's basically been months of every poster being in a bad mood. There's been no Summer tournament to brighten things up and no signings of note to get everyone excited. Our number one target (Sancho) isn't happening, and our number 1/2 players (De Gea/Pogba) both want to leave.

This is as bad as it gets.

A mega £60m-ish move like that would not have progressed passed the medical stage without wide spread media coverage.

Probably the same as Redcafe now tweeting transfer rumours? Get enough of a following and you'll attract sponsors and whatnot.

Nothing wrong with it, but I wouldn't pin too much hope on the fact that they never posted transfer news before.

The Noggies often know their onions.

I have no idea about this Facebook group but, if you description of them is accurate, I think it's news worth listening to.

I agree. An English international playing for Leicester that would cost over 60m would be leaked by someone or more before the medical, probably once a fee is agreed at the latest. No way would that deal be kept secret for so long. Look at Wan Bissaka or even Maguire, every day new stories and a fee isnt even agreed.

Considering we sold Zaha back to Crystal palace for a ridiculously low price they are taking the piss if they are insisting on the clause being removed.
