The way I see it is that it's a guaranteed £70m whenever the money comes in. We'd have that extra £60m to play with when the next round of major transfers are required in two years when the likes of Mata, Matic, Sanchez, Smalling, Jones, Young etc. (if they're not already moved on before then please Lord) are finally shelved. Though I'm still holding hope for Sanchez to come good.

But I would still say at least £75-80m.
The amount they offered is in euros not pounds. So that's about a 10 million difference

I don't really get the need for the loan part. Why not just offer to buy him and pay in installments? Does it mean we pay his wages for a year? €10m probably doesn't cover his wages if that's the case and would be completely unacceptable.
I doubt we would be paying his wages. It's probably so they don't have to show it on the books for a few years to get around FFP.

I'd take that. I reckon we'll settle for a few million more though. Positive stuff!
Can't see how that is a good deal for us. In 2 years he will have one year left on his contract. Let's say inter sends him back after then that means we will have gotten 3 years of service from him for the amount we paid for him. If we needed to free up our wage bill to sign a player like Messi Ronaldo or Neymar I could understand. I'd rather we kept him then. He is pretty effective in the box. He just needs creative players around him

The offer is a two year loan and then they have to transfer us 60million euros. They won't have the option of sending him back.

2 years loan that pays up 10 million a piece before we get the rest?

With the way the market is inflating that is a shit deal, we need to cash in now and Inter needs to pay up if they want him. I'm sure most of our fans wouldn't mind if he stayed on for next season.

It'll be 10m fee and they pay the wages

They are pathetic. I hope we tell them to do one and realize they can’t take the piss with us.
Two seasons ago they spent 30million euros on a 20 year old CB who they've sent on loan for the last 2 seasons ffs! He's not played a single minute for Inter and here they are dicking around. How about they sell some of their players and raise some money.

Opening Offer...
Yes and if we made that sort of opening offer for any player we’d be laughed at. It’s a pathetic opening offer. Conte loves him so much then he best persuade the owners to cough up.

Considering how they were pissing about with Perisic.

I would be quite content with Lukaku staying with us next season. He may not like it but we pay him handsomely to perform and be professional.
Inter's offer is laughable at this stage.

With an obligation to buy the 1yr left wouldn't matter. If it was an option to buy then it would be a bigger problem.

Ahh I understood it is in if they wanted to buy him after 2 years they would have to pay 60 million.

Inter are literally taking the fecking piss.
Yep. I hope we tell them to stick it. €10 million is what, £7 million? So £3.5 million for each loan season. It’s a piss take of an offer.

What does that benefit us apart from losing our best striker?
We get rid of a player who has openly said he doesn't want to be there and who was signed for the previous manager's style. We free up space and funds to get a replacement.

We may have internal budgets but if our finance team have a guaranteed €75m coming in I'm sure we would be able to reinvest it in a player more suited to how we will be looking to play.

Who cares how much they pay up front though seriously, people are acting as if it's their money

Feck that, all or nothing. If he bangs in 20-30 goals next season (which he's fully capable of) that'll get them CL surely, which pays for his fee. They tried taking us to the cleaners with Perisic, which we never got the option of this loan to buy bollocks, time for us to repay the favour.

My worry is we have no money. If I was confident Ed had a fat stack of cash ready to go nuts then Inter could take him now for nothing and pay it all in two years for all I care.
