I think Spurs might be weaker this year. They do not have the squad depth to keep going year in year out. Losing Trippier, Rose wants to leave.
They’ve started to try and address their weakness in midfield at least so it depends on how much more they do. Probably need another midfielder and two full backs at least.I think Spurs might be weaker this year. They do not have the squad depth to keep going year in year out. I'd see this the other way, that's two players who Pochettino is happy to sell and will free space and wages. Fullback was a weak-spot for us last year, and is the easiest area we can improve. I expect more signings, especially if we sell Trippier and Rose.I think Spurs might be weaker this year. They do not have the squad depth to keep going year in year out. The issues with new signings sometimes can be adjusting to the Prem. We have seen it with Son and Moura who have taken a while to adjust.I'd see this the other way, that's two players who Pochettino is happy to sell and will free space and wages. I thought Lamela would have a great season last season, but once again he had so many injuries. I've half given up on him, but I think he is capable of surprising a few and be useful. He will have to develop his play in the final third though. The issues with new signings sometimes can be adjusting to the Prem. We have seen it with Son and Moura who have taken a while to adjust.
What do Spurs fans feel about Lamela this season?
Also, I think Winks and Ndombole in that midfield will be very influential
Well he is nearly 29 and has had an absolutely terrible season so although I still think the price is a bit low I'm delighted we have managed to convince somebody to take him off our hands so i'm happy. It's a really low price then in that case. Does Poch just want rid?
The hardest area of the team to manage transition is defensively, so I don't think it would be advisable to get rid of Trippier, Rose and Toby in one go. Say what you will about their respective ages or perceived declining form, but they are still solid and experienced players. Going all in on younger prospects is laudable but extremely risky.Well he is nearly 29 and has had an absolutely terrible season so although I still think the price is a bit low I'm delighted we have managed to convince somebody to take him off our hands so i'm happy.
Big changes happening at Spurs right now - it feels like the start of a new phase in the club - looks like Trippier and Rose both may be leaving - also Toby. I think our plan is to start filling the squad with young, talented players to build the squad for the next 5+ years. I think that is the right direction and will be very positive although it might be a tricky transition.
Well we have Sanchez and Foyth who are there - Sanchez is quite experienced despite his relatively young age and Foyth is very highly rated and could fill in at right back - we also have KWP who hopefully can step up and become a real option at FB. We will probably need to get a right back though I think at least. I suspect we are going to adapt our formation this year and may play in a different way - again this will take a bit of time but I believe in Poch as a coach. The hardest area of the team to manage transition is defensively, so I don't think it would be advisable to get rid of Trippier, Rose and Toby in one go. Wait we have gotten to the CL final before? feck me I missed that one.Another season of Spurs doing what Spurs are very good at = same as last seeason and the one before that and the one before that and.........
I’d happily see the back of Lamela now to be honest, he is the polar opposite of who we thought we were getting and if he hasn’t manage to cope now he never will. Thanks for the rabona, there wasn’t much else of us Spurs fans were honest about it.The issues with new signings sometimes can be adjusting to the Prem. We have seen it with Son and Moura who have taken a while to adjust.

I'm quite sure he was available for United as well, we were looking to sell.Trippier to Atlético.
They can buy quality from the Spuds, but Man Utd can't, ok
Would have happily swapped for Dalot.I'm quite sure he was available for United as well, we were looking to sell.
Growing up if you'd told me Spurs would be in the CL final and near guaranteed top four I'd have laughed you out the room. Definite upward trajectory under Poch.Another season of Spurs doing what Spurs are very good at = same as last seeason and the one before that and the one before that and.........
I think moving on Tripper and Rose and getting in Sessegnon would be an improvent tbh. I still don’t think we are done in the market.Growing up if you'd told me Spurs would be in the CL final and near guaranteed top four I'd have laughed you out the room. Definite upward trajectory under Poch.
I get the impression though that the budget there is very tight given repayments. Ndombele was a big signing and I think the current player sales hint at Poch being asked to move on anyone he doesn't rate highly. As opposed to us holding on to players like Darmian and Rojo as if they're going out of fashion.
Yh agreed, I can see you getting Sessegnon and also making a breakthrough with Aarons (I know he's signed a contract but think they'd be mad not to sell if you offer Trippier money)I think moving on Tripper and Rose and getting in Sessegnon would be an improvement tbh. I like Max, but I feel if we did sign it would be an immediate loan back. Really exciting player.Yh agreed, I can see you getting Sessegnon and also making a breakthrough with Aarons (I know he's signed a contract but think they'd be mad not to sell if you offer Trippier money)
I'd imagine the narrative from most Spurs fans will be this, despite the fact he played the most out of any of his spurs seasons last season. So, Trippier is an average player and you are glad he's gone?
Glad? No time? Yes. He’s aging. So, Trippier is an average player and you are glad he's gone?
Aging?? He's 28, in his prime!!!Glad? No time? Yes. He’s aging.
He was bloody awful last season and single handedly lost us several games. I'm delighted I'll never see him in a Spurs shirt again.I'd imagine the narrative from most Spurs fans will be this, despite the fact he played the most out of any of his spurs seasons last season.
29 next month, not that athletic, last year of his contract, he’s hardly Cafu.Aging?? He's 28, in his prime!!!
Massive difference between 28 and 29!!!29 next month, not that athletic, last year of his contract, he’s hardly Cafu.
He had 3 years left on the contract. He signed one in 2017, 5 year contract.29 next month, not that athletic, last year of his contract, he’s hardly Cafu.
As I say, narrative. He had 3 years left on the contract. He signed one in 2017, 5 year contract.
Also it's funny Walker was rumored to leave, Spurs fans started to rate Trippier highly, saying how he will be upgrade. Now that he left, started to find his weaknesses.
Yeah, apart from rating/not rating thing, I don't understand how they are getting length of his contract wrong. As I say, narrative.
The fact that tripper played 38 times last season suggests to me that the current alternative at the club isn't good enough or Trippier is/was rated by Poch and they need to sell to accumulate cash.
I have said he is a good footballer, he had a good career at Tottenham and I’m certainly glad we had him. Every player has weaknesses and Trippiers were found last season with a weak midfield in front of him. I just think it’s time he moved on, I’m far from slating the guy.He had 3 years left on the contract. He signed one in 2017, 5 year contract.

Although Trippier wasn't an upgrade on Walker in my view, during Walkers last season with us we did rotate him and Trippier, and for me he was was better than Walker against teams we should beat and dominate possession against because of his top passing and crossing. Despite this Walker was more athletic and better defensively so against strong teams I was more comfortable with Walker. Last season Trippiers defensive weaknesses became more apparent with his drop in form that had me worried when he had to face Mane/Sane/Sterling or even other tricky wingers. He had 3 years left on the contract. He signed one in 2017, 5 year contract.

I'm sure Rose would wanna be a starterI see Danny Rose hasn’t go on tour. How much is he available for? Could we go wrong with him as competition for Shaw? He wants to come back to the north I understand.
He’s been rotating with Ben Davies for years now. He’ll play plenty game’s with Europa, midweek games etc.I'm sure Rose would wanna be a starter
